Saying Cameron never answers questions is a bit rich when her mob never did either when the position was reversed.

Dr David shoehorning LA in again.

It's 'warts and all' with Chesney, and then you've got Plastic Man at the other end of the panel.

Are we supposed to hate people based on where they went to school? Lots of people from all kinds of backgrounds went to Oxford and Cambridge.

Completely missing the point. Well done. I was remarking on the fact that Steve Hilton was attacking elites when he is part of the single biggest elite in the UK, Oxford University PPE graduates. Check it out:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...th_PPE_degrees

I don't hate anyone, by the way.

And you might've had a point but he wasn't hiding it. He just admitted he used to be "part of the elite" so thinking you were outing him was redundant - Just seems like more of the class war that bedevils any and all political discussion in this country.

Someone in my family went to Oxford and they were the son of a coal-miner so to type graduates from one school as being automatically part of an elite is just foolish.

... that's if you believe the world is ruled by elites, which I don't, I'll leave that sort of thing to Steve Hilton.

You decided it was a class war thing, so it would appear the problem lies with you. I don't buy into Steve Hiltonesque theories about elites, so consider my contribution as satire along the lines of Takes One To Know One.

So, now you're saying that this country isn't riddled with class-based resentment?!?!

Regardless, you can't "out" somebody who already "outed" themselves. He wasn't hiding it.
Idda

Not really, because he didn't out himself, he was prompted to by Matthew and the panel. Anyway, I'm not sure what that has to do with anything, I wasn't outing Steve Hilton, so much as mocking his new found self-righteousness.

It's in his book, which is why he's there plugging it.

Shouldn't he be applauded for somewhat turning on his Tory pals?

I didn't mention class, you decided to bring it up by implying that was the motivation for my comments on the ridiculous Mr. Hilton. All I did was point out that the inference could be drawn you were the one fixated on class, not me.

That's been his whole schtick from day one though, thinking out of the box, blue sky thinking, the Tory who dares to ask the difficult questions. When it comes down to it, he just IS Stewart Pearson, it's impossible to take him seriously.

What other inference is to be drawn for being pejorative about where somebody went to school? Isn't it disingenuous to pretend otherwise?

School/Uni. You're not playing semantics now are you?
Idda

Hardly semantics, School and University are not the same thing.

Anyway, it's not even about the University he went, it's about what the fact that so many people involved in politics and the media in the UK, are specifically Oxford PPE graduates and, that if I was the sort of right wing whinger who bleats on about elites ruling our lives, I might use that fact for some choice bleating. I was appreciating the irony.

It's not even a party political thing because, historically, it was the Labour Party that was dominated by Oxonians.
