I'll come with you. Sometimes feels as if I'm the only one in here not keen on cats!
You are not alone. Much rather have a dog any day. Our chocolate labrador Maisie is currently fascinated by the musk oxen on Nordic Wild on't telly.

Have had and loved cats, dogs, rabbits, tortoises, goldfish and budgies. More than some people if truth be known

Glad your puddy is all better, one of the funniest things I have ever seen was our old cats total distain for her neck shield thing post op. You know the thing like an Elizabethan ruff to stop them getting at stitches etc.

She refused to acknowledge its existence and kept trying to go up the stairs exactly the same way as she would have if she didn't have it on. It was the look on her face that had the whole family watching and laughing as she tried and failed to go up that first step about 30 times without acknowledging its existence at all, like a Duracell battery toy plugging away with no thought that this didn't work last time I should change. We caved in after about the 30 th time and carried her upstairs , but that was it she cried to be picked up and carried upstairs for the next 9 years.
She used the out cat flap beautifully but appeared to loose it when she needed to come back in, sitting outside various Windows and doors crying to be let in. Of course we caved. No one can tell me we owned that cat, she owned us and she knew it,
An afghan hound came to visit the house once he had to be taken out a quivering mess after 5 mins and spent most of the weekend hiding in the car.

A any
O one
B but
A Anita
N never
D danced
B before.

It's true it really is for me AOBANDB and I can't get over it, normally when I am at this level of irritation about someone's dancing I can't stand the person either, however in a first for me , I loathe Anita's dancing and the partnership with Gleb, but still really love her as a person. I admire her so much for her presenting skills, that HDYTYA had me in floods of tears and I still admire her for her remembering Mahindra after all these years.

However stick her in a costume and put dancing shoes on her I begin to exhibit Chief Inspector Dreyfus tics and at the first mention of NDB I want to send Cato towards her, Gleb or anyone else who mentions it.

This NDB at this stage of the completion as an excuse for her is complete and utter bollocks, just think of all the celebs who before in previous series had NDB. Denise and Colin, produced exquisite polished performances that excelled in elegance, performance and technique.
Hell even Gavin managed a quickstep that was a thing of beauty as was Michael Vaughan AS.

Poor Katie must be sitting in a corner rocking going it was only a few ballet classes, I too have NDB.

Honestly I don't know whether I want her gone this weekend as then I can go back to my plain admiration of her, but the board will reach fever pitch WUZZROBBED levels over a lovely lady but god awful dancer.

Or if she gets to the final the sheer weight of her very vociferous posters telling us about how she will win because she is wonderful and completely perfect will be oppressive.

It's like a choice between eating dog food or cat food I don't want to do either.

Above all I don't want her to win, not because of her dancing or,personality but because of the very broad strokes people are painted on this show.

The NDB is such twaddle and should never, ever be applied to any contestant ever again.

Feel absolutely the same...love her when she's not dancing or with Gleb, their relationship makes me feel slightly uncomfortable (training a Russian dancing bear...) but I'm very tempted to go and catch up on HDYTYA if it's still available.
Find myself shouting at the screen when the inevitable quote comes up, whoever the speaker may be...it'll make Hobbit's win seem justified in comparison and if it's all about popularity, why not just have a vote and not bother with any dancing?

If you haven't seen it, honestly, try and find it, I don't know anyone who wasn't in floods, even my manly husband had something in her eye.

I just want to go back to enjoying her work again, sigh, I think Strictly will have done nothing but have been positive for her, but I just don't enjoy her dancing or her & Gleb as a partnership. It's like watching my husband cook a new recipe, he does it with great enthusiasm and love, but you really don't want to eat it. 😱😁

She has been married before, hasn't she? Maybe first time was to a hot guy that treated her in a way that a guy like Kevin seems like a secure oasis.

Who knows?
That would be my guess.

Cheetahs and border collies
Greyhounds can be quite feline..

Mine also has the ability to distinguish between broccoli and any other vegetable being chopped from 2 rooms away. As he is aging, and charmingly disobedient, I assumed nature was taking its course and he was going deaf, but the broccoli on chopping board test always proves otherwise....

Border collies???? oh nooooo...
I was thinking more of Lurchers... I've had several that were as disdainful as a cat, very independent and could outstare any cat....
The lurcher/ greyhound family give great stink eye...

Know what you mean, and I agree about the enthusiasm, but I just don't see any evidence of loving what she's doing. And that's the problem! I can forgive a lot if the celeb is clearly having a whale of a time (it's why I've never been as anti-Hobbit or anti-Wardrobe as most of you), but if I get vibes of discomfort (Blankley ii, Scott Mills) or desperation (Dr Hamela, DVO), or efficiency without joy (Rachbot) then that's me done.

You've got a point. If they've got a lot of sighthound in them, lurchers are quite pusscat-like in their occupation of the sofa too.
Yep... I am only allowed about a quarter of the sofa. If I attempt to remedy the situation and rearrange long, bony limbs to get more space, there are loud shrieks of disapproval.. For all their mild mannered exteriors, the lurcher family are extremely adept at managing households around their own needs.

Unappreciating having a funeral of a dear friend to go to today. However, I wouldn't miss it for the world as a chance to say goodbye.

Oh, I agree, verve might have been a better word than love, she doesn't get any great joy out of dancing, I think she just likes to challenge herself, it could be anything and she'd give it 100% which is admirable in lots of ways but doesn't lead to me having any emotional reaction to her dancing other than meh, she bribed wardrobe then

My thoughts are with you. I know funerals are emotionally draining, but maybe you'll get the opportunity to share wonderful memories of them with people that cared about them the most.

Yup, that's were I hit a brick wall with her as well, I just don't get that she's getting the love for it and having a blast on the dance floor. I'll forgive so much if I get that back, it's why I have no problem with Chris Hollins, and wanted him to win, he loved it, and if the celeb does, generally so do I (unless you're Lisa Riley, or someone who insists on yelling in my face about HOW MUCH FUN they're having )

Maybe she is, she's doing the tour so I presume she is enjoying herself, she's no real other reason to do it, her profile is high already, but as a viewer she just isn't getting it across to me anymore - Charleston and Tango, yup, loved 'em, but outside of that, nope

Monaogg - best wishes for today, will be thinking of you.

I voted for the Hobbit, because I felt he had improved over the course of the series, I did like his relationship with Ola and his Charleston was a surprise and seemed to be the best on the night.

( having said that I don't like his charleston now we have seen other charlestons on the show and don't think it was that special )

I don't remember all this emphasis on him having NDB, as I remember it all the discussion his year was about what made you enjoy a dance. Ricky Whittle sterile perfect dancing didn't do it for me, where as Chris and Ola had fun, he was producing good dances, was improving and the partnership worked.

This NDB thing is dangerous as people are using it to excuse the fact she has not improved faults that she has had from week one. If NDB is used as an excuse to do dances all show and flash and no technique like that (non ) AT why bother dancing at all your right, just vote for your favourite person now.

I am very sorry for your loss , you are the second person this week I know to loose a good friend unexpectedly.

It's just horrid,

Hugs xxx

As is Florence, my never knowingly out of bed greyhound....

She can differentiate my mum's black two-door Punto from our neighbour's identical car before they are actually on our street. She can also tell me when my husband leaves the office eight miles away and can mind meld toast from your hand to her mouth without you actually knowing it.

More cat than cat.
Mine too. What a great name.

If you can find it, definitely watch it. One of the best there's been on that show. I only watched it about a month ago (recorded on our TV, had been too busy) so didn't join in the discussion about it. Really excellent, and like coppertop I can't help but like the woman. (I just don't like most of her dances.)

Hope it goes as well as it can today, and you have chance to laugh as well as cry.

I don't think I've ever had such a disconnect with a celeb as I have between liking Anita as she seems as a person and in her day job - and Anita as she comes across with Gleb and dancing.

How's the puddy tat today, Wazzyboy?

A lurcher isn't a lurcher unless it's got a lot of sighthound in it...best of all are longdogs, they are sighthound x sighthound, no pastoral or other breed in there...
