Louis was my pre series favourite that year (mainly because i'm quite a gymnastics fan) but his dancing didn't appeal to me once it started. One of those subjective things that they were banging on about earlier this series . I preferred Kimbot too.

The following year, I preferred Abbey. I could appreciate that she wasn't as technically good as Natalie, but I got a real sense of joy from her when she danced & I enjoyed her partnership with Aljaz, because I do think that the partnership as a whole has to work for me to really get behind a couple. I liked Sophie, but I didn't get quite as much joy, plus the partnership was ruined for me by Brenda "This girl"ing earnestly every week & moaning about dirty filthy Rumbas & that they should be about romance, despite the fact that he had just done said dance to a song about a one night stand.

So all in all, I get that people don't get the joy of dahnce from Jay & maybe do get it from Anita/Kellie/Katie because, as I said above, it is a subjective thing. I do unappreciate people telling me that i'm wrong for feeling different to them though.

Her training looked good, so she will be fine.

Anita's foxtrot look surprisingly good too, as did everyone else. (Except Jays Charleston.)

Yeah that is slight concern - I suspect he hasn't devoted very much time to it.

Still, it doesn't matter as we'll all vote for him whatever he does, apparently.

I suspect they are being deliberately cagey. Will just have to wait & see on Saturday.

Well, they tell us to vote for who we want to see next week. That hasn't changed for me since week 1.

They were clearly just marking it but neither looked worried and Jay didn't look like he was concentrating on learning the steps.

They know there is no other footage and they've chosen to just mark it for the cameras instead of go all out. (This being the only footage they have as everyone else's was filmed in training rooms yesterday)

The last time we got awful footage from Thursday with no hint of what was to come was this:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ckFpMW1uXHo

So I'm remaining optimistic.

If anyone who didn't catch it wants to watch Anita's "Who Do You Think You Are?", it's on YouTube (though the sound's a bit iffy on both versions I found, sounds a bit chipmunk-y)

Anita Rani - Who Do You Think You Are?

Me too. Plus his training always looks awful even when he's very good as Aliona teaches very differently to the rest.

I just wanted to pick up on your point about having to like the partnership. I loved Flavia, but even when she had a good partner, it was never my favourite partnership in their particular series, same with Natalie. Good partnerships don't have to be the best dancers.

Anyone else unappreciating Scott Mills and that other woman. They never shut up!! Would have been better with just Adam Garcia, or all three of them but those two gagged.

See, shows we can all respectfully disagree in here & we don't all usually feel the same because I don't agree with any of that apart from the last sentence

I'm unappreciating the set up of the show rather than the guests, they had stupid filler again when each of them could have commented, they would have had the time.

There being an audience is beginning to seriously niggle, as well.
Can KfG get a duffer next year? Guy looks exhausted.

Kellie looked good though.

Have to say she's stronger than any past EE alumni, Strictly broke Norman Deadnan & Jake

Think it's the luck of the draw. He's the shortest bloke so will probably get the shortest woman.

They all look tired out to me in one way or another.

In some earlier series they used to have 2 dances in the quarter finals as well, but think the celebrities and Pros got too tired.

I'm going to point out the obvious, it's because she's a woman, and a mother! She just works through her exhaustion.

Really enjoyed her interview and think both her dances are looking really great. I am predicting that if she nails that rhumba, and with Songbird, I am going to be a blubbering mess!

Yikes. Well that caused a ripple in a teacup.

I must apologise for dumping all over your Thread. I assure you it wasn't a personal attack on anyone or on anyone's beliefs or opinions. I've been on this thread before and practically lived on it one year... or two. My 1st experience of DS shocked me stupid and I came across this thread and read a couple of posts and wondered what the hell was going on. It was a mission to another thread complete with Mission Impossible musical phonetic stylings and I laughed myself sick for a good half hour.

It's always been a good place to take a breather from the board and have a good giggle, whether it's over the resurgence of Austinwozrobbed or some other hair yanking ire, yet always done with wit. My Johhny Depp fixation was booed, except for one who had followed Johhny Depp down Oxford Street and walked into a lamp post. Enough said on that score.

To be clear I wish no couple ill will and voting against a particular couple is downright mean. I would prefer Jay to win because apart from Anita he's the one I've voted for. I'd not been on the Forum except for a couple of threads for a couple of days and wanted to find out what the Pitbull song was.

It was a rant I dearly wish I'd taken medication for instead of posting. Don't get it? Of course not. It was all to do with me and nothing to do with Strictly or who is in the Semis or the Finals. The opinions I read seemed to have just erupted and come out of left field and my head exploded. They read really "mean" which is a childish word I wish I could grow out of.

I've been fighting both my GP and 3 Consultants for almost 2 years to get a Consultation with a Neurologist. One side of my face is different from the other. I have a permanant sardonic James Bond eyebrow raise, an indentation above it deep enough and wide enough to sink my fingertip into, a vanished cheekbone and the dark circle half a centimetre lower than my right one. I see it at least twice a day and finally found a Consultant who listened to me and referred me so that I could get answers to my questions. Upshot? One sentence spoken of 8 words and she made her mind up that it was NEA regardless of the fact that I've never had a seizure or a blackout in my life. 3 times she told me she was young and I felt sorry for her, empathised that she'd suffered from discrimination, so I turned down her offer to see a different consultant because of her youth. Now? Case closed. I fought and fought and now with the diagnosis I'm bringing something up which has been dealt with even though my short term memory loss is increasing and I have to continue to fight against people who know what they know even though I visually look like I've had a stroke and have several permanent symptoms associated with having had one.

Sorry if this is too much information but I really felt I needed to apologise.

Back on topic? If Anita isn't up to it she sadly isn't up to it and I think it's a real shame and I'll watch the Final and decide whether to vote or not. This was my Zen, and is my Zen.

Crap in Hell I wish I'd never given in to it and not cared and shared.

The NAT is NOT a dumping ground and never was.

Once again my apologies.

My feelings have really softened towards Kellie (if I think of her separately from Kevin) but I genuinely don't think the rumba is her dance, she's not a soft and dreamy dancer, she's energetic & fun. Poor bugger has to follow a Jay dance again too.

I agree in all accounts. Except the blubbering mess. I don't think a rumba by K&K will make me emotional, no matter the song.

You don't ever need to apologise to us hun, I just didn't understand the point you were trying to make. I couldn't work out if you liked Anita or not, I couldn't work out if you wanted her to make the final or not. Half of the post seemed to love her, the other half seemed to want her out at the weekend.

I'm sorry you are having such a tough and frustrating time, health issues are horrid.

She really is an old-fashioned trouper. She has the attitude of someone who knows that tele work (or any work) is precarious and can come to an end at the whim of the script writers, so make the most of it while it's there because next year could be panto in the provinces.
