He refuses to talk about it. His grandfather died the day he danced the foxtrot and he went home on Wednesday night to attend the funeral on Thursday. He came back for rehearsals at the studio yesterday.

Yep. And probably the audience will be non the wiser regarding Jay's.
Which makes me like him a bit more, but a bit crossed.

It has no relation to dancing at all, other than thank heavens I hope none of the women have problems with theirs.

It was just that much was made of the fact that Susanna 's pelvic floor was apparently strong ( how anyone knew that other than her husband was beyond me) and she should be admired and voted for because of this. It was because she had had children.

The fact that Sophie had also had children and didn't get praised for her pelvic floor was a mystery to me.

It was just an odd thing that year , never before mentioned, never again mentioned, but apparently Susanna was admirable for her pelvic floor muscles so much so it was a reason to vote for her. I think an entire thread was devoted to it and also mention of Susanna's pelvic floor was scattered through the the series as a reason to admire her and vote for her.

It was such an odd thing to be picked up on and so illogical it amused me no end.

Very emotive programme. I love all things Indian and thoroughly enjoyed this .
But the thing that annoys me is that after 12 weeks of disliking AR, I have come to like her now and admire her. Not a bad looking woman either. She mentioned during the programme that she is married yet we have never seen anything of her husband or children during this series? This must be a first.

Apparently her hubby stays private, doesn't like the limelight & doesn't even go to the live shows. Good for him.

Think most of us love presenter Anita & think she's amazing at her day job, it's just dancing Anita & her Botox allergic friend that we're not so fond of 😉

I was watching quite closely that series, but either I completely forgotten about that or never even got it the first time round.

Yes, I don't mind Anita the presenter. Is the mediocre, never have danced before, every week is hard, every week starting from scratch, earnest climbing mount Everest contestant I can't warm to.
But plenty of others do!

They've both had really tough weeks, Georgia is still clearly not well, hopefully she'll do good tonight. Joe Varney is utterly adorable, he must be back next year

Georgia looked really down. I felt really sorry for. Joe Varney was lovely. The pros who get past Blackpool certainly earn their money.

The good thing about those two is that if she goes wrong JoeVarney will correct her immediately and in a non obvious way. Which is a positive about them.

I really like JoeVarney, I think he's been a total sweetie this year. This is always the stage where bits start falling off them, Norman Deadnan anyone? Which makes Kellie's efforts even more admirable really.

Personally, I'd love to reach that stage where I can put a celebrity's different personas in separate boxes and then choose which ones I like.

Great compliment you've given Anita there, though. No-hoper to mediocre in 12 weeks! Very short period of time but she's managed to achieve the same mediocre, low intermediate dance level as that of the rest of them -- except perhaps, Jay.

The amount of times non-Anita fans vent their own, personal frustrations over the no-training story makes me think of Hamlet: "The lady doth protest too much, methinks."

Just hoping that team GG can squeeze through to the final, and avoid the DO. Since Helen left (wuzrobbed etc) I will probably root for Jay, but the final would be the poorer for no Joe Varney, oh, and Georgia

Anita is a great performer, she is brilliant at performing dramatic dances and is completely fearless. But she has been like that since week 1.

Actually, Anita was way above no hoper dancer in week 1 and week 2. Let's remember her CHa CHa CHa scored exactly the same as Jay's. Even on the launch show she was clearly not a no hoper.

I think Georgia has improved much more than Anita. (I leave aside Jay as I do not want to be accused of bias.)

And no, Anita is not at the same level of dancing as Kellie or Georgia. Anita's Latin is better than Katie's, but I think Katie's ballroom is better than Anita's. So she is levelled with Katie.

I love that quote. Those of us who are fans of Jay feel the same way when non Jay fans continuously vent their own frustrations and repeat the same old arguments about him.

They will! I am pretty sure of that. I really do think last weekend people thought of her safe. This weekend she will get a great bounce off.

I've come to the conclusion that I just don't like the way Anita dances. There is no light and shade it's just full on all the time. Yes, she performes but it is certainly not subtle and there are none of nuances you got with Helen(Wuz robbed) or do with Georgia and even Kellie (who can also tend towards the more bombastic, but can still bring it back when needed). Every routine seems to be choreographed around an 'amazing' trick and while its flashy and eyecatching it doesn't help the dance flow (to me).

Hopefully, she can do a 'straight' foxtrot with no bells or whistles and we can get an idea of her actual dance ability and progress, not just how willing she is to be thrown about and 'sell' a flashy routine.

I think if you looked up 'pragmatic' in a dictionary there'd be a picture of Kellie . She's been around showbiz for a long time and knows that work can be sporadic - so if you're busy make the most of it because next year could be panto in the Shires.

Nope. They're all low intermediates. Apart from Jay who's clearly high advance level, what with those clean, multiple turns. Overall, I don't rate Katie's ballroom as better than Anita's.

I didn't say they weren't all low intermidiate. Just that within whatever classification you put them, in dancing terms Georgia (more) and Kellie (to a less degree) are ahead of Anita.

I understand that you don't think that Katie's ballroom is better than Anita's. But I disagree. Not that there is much between the two of them, but I would certainly put Katie ahead.
