Fair enough. Watched dance is a very personal thing. If it works for you, it works for you

Agreed. She can sell dramatic dances very well - a lot of people liked her paso and AT (not keen personally but I can sort of see why) and I did like the ballroom tango she did.

Yep. And I find Katie mesmerising

Really?? You all say! We never would have known because you have never mentioned it before!!

Yes, me too - either Cuban or Colombian. The others are vague copies or versions which evolved in clubs, the most distorted being Cross-Body, which seems to have been picked up by the ballroom crowd

If you go to a proper salsa event in London or one of the Cuban live music/band events and say you do 'cross-body' people look at you in horror and back away

Yes, I know! They love it!
In Spainwas popular for a while, till people said wait a second the lyrics are awful!
Now there is still people who love it (played on certain radios all the time) but it's almost like a swear word itself reggaeton. Most people hate it. But mostly because of the lyrics.

She's very elegant and long-limbed, which is always beautiful to see in motion. Beautiful legs (wish she'd point those feet more)

She has to have one little sooperfan hiding in the corner

wear your Katie sooperfandom with pride! Do you want me to make you a badge?

You like who you like Hun and it's fine. Be a dull world if we all agreed. I like it when we don't all agree as it gives us something to talk about, and as long as it's humorous and good natured, it gives us all a new point of view.

Her foxtrot was the letdown of the series for me though, I was expecting perfection and was so underwhelmed.

I guess interpretation and expression is subjective.
some people say Jay is bland, and I find him anything but bland!

To me Anita is the least elegant and the least musical, which makes sense considering that she has " never danced before".
because of that for me she is just the least pleasant to watch. I have liked many of her routines, but always in spite of her dancing. Thinking to myself, oh, I wished Georgia or Helen had done this and then I would 100% enjoy it. Otherwise I am distracted by the ungainly legs and feet (even arms like in the rumba).

And P.S. no one hates her.

You must also appreciate that this is the Non-Appreciation thread and, as such we are able to disagree and discuss whatever we think without being attacked for those views.

Not allowing others their opinions or constantly telling them they are wrong, is not in the spirit of this thread.

Happy to post our rules NAT for you if it will makes things clearer? They have been the same for 5 years - ever since this thread began.

Yes, exactly. Let's hope everyone follows the rule.

Her tango is one my favourite dances of the series. Her VW was really excellent. I am hoping we are in for a treat tonight, we really should with a Waltz.

To me, Anita has learned/is learning to dance but she's not a dancer* <waits for Brandon Flowers moment to pass >.
There have been plenty of celebs starting from scratch who are dancers - like Mark Ramprakash - so the NDB thing is irrelevant. You can be a dancer but have NDB.

(* or, as the O/H put its - you can teach a man to swim - don't make him a fish)

Curious about salsa mixed with reggaeton? Can Glebby pull it off? Erm....

This is what it looks like with two of best dancers out there right now - this is salsathon.

Enjoy!

But sadly not with her Charleston. I hope I am wrong.

It makes sense that Gleb would be attracted to reggaeton by the sound of it - some of his moves already look as though (as someone memorably said) "he's shagging the parquet" there's more than a touch of the sleazeball about his persona.

I'm half expecting Gleb to strip down to a pair of leather pants, myself. And do himself some floor bothering injury.

He could get splinters in some nasty places unless those leather pants are reinforced (codpiece?)

Yes let's hope no one comes into a non appreciation thread and tells people off for not appreciating their chosen celeb, now that would just be rude.

I am distinctly unappreciating the lack of Helen in tonight's programme, I feel it will be the poorer for it.

Mind you I have felt she was short changed by the whole programme, stupid music and never the best theme.

Sparks could FLY, I tell ye

Ruin the floor most likely.

Perhaps he could spin around on the codpiece, like a floor level helicopter. That'll distract all right.

Half expecting or praying?

Definitely HOPING

The applause will be deafening and all the ten paddles will rise.

Anita will look fierce and oddly ungainly somewhere off to the side.

I thought she had the best theme movie week (Marilyn) and Halloween, I wish I looked that hot covered in toilet roll

But you're right, there will be a quite petite Helen sized hole. I've missed her more on ITT though waiting for her fab own clothes. And guessing what length her hair will be

That is a good way of putting it. Makes complete sense to me.

Yes, we could have had the definite answer to whether tall girls can jive (we know tall guys can!) and probably a beautiful romantic AS.
