Unappreciating K&K's American Smooth....and I don't know why. It's pure Hollywood, glitz and glamour, and exactly what Strictly is about. I should love it, but I don't and I don't know why. Was it Kellie's dress? *muses*”

It's one of those dances that the more you watch the less come to it has. Kevin was super, super smart. It's a beautiful routine, but it could have done with one or two less lift (especially the very last one), and then it would pretty spot on. To be honest, I would have love to see this routine danced by Helen and Aliaz or even Jay and Aliona, I wonder if they could have made it a bit more extra special. (Maybe not?)

By the way, Kellie has a non fat tummy but has a very big curvature in her lower back so the tummy protrudes and looks like she has a belly. That is one of the distractions for me of the AS. I can't stop looking at her belly.

For me the thing that is wrong with Kellie and Kevin's AS was simply it was not good enough.

If you are going to de Fred and Ging then you have to be good enough , you have to make it look effortless, elegant and have the best damn frock in the world, something little girls will want to wear forever.

Neither Kellie or Kevin are elegant, they don't make it look effortless, those assisted jumps were awful. You could see the effort writ large on their face and Kellies dress really was only little girl costume good, rather than jaw droppingly elegant.

It was a poor imitation all round, which is why it doesn't satisfy.

Now done by other celebs or pros it could have been spectacular , but it really wasn't

Just watched it again. I think you are right, lacks inner elegance, I still like it because it's a beautiful routine and production and it's not danced badly at all.

but what it bothers me a bit it's that I think at the very end they were out of time and the drop finishes after the music does. Or is just me?

I'd agree with that, it was a really well done and thought out routine, but danced by someone else, Helen and Alijaz maybe, it could have been breathtaking. Neither are naturally elegant (neither am I for that matter ), and TFF's strengths are in the more energetic dances, but he takes it too far and has a habit of throwing everything at them and going full pelt, whether or not Kellie can genuinely keep up, and they end up looking messy and frantic.

For the show dance I can only see TTF going down the full-on route, which could be his downfall - Aliona can do a pretty much full on Charleston for Jay because he's 25, extremely fit and is doing this as his day job. Kellie is 40 odd, fitter then most -but not 25, and, more importantly, doing this as well as her day job, TFF may well ask too much of her.

Poor Kellie... she does look quite a bit older than her actual age though!

All things considered though, I think K & K did extremely well.

With her work schedule, strictly and with young children, no wonder!

Whilst it was probably Kellie's best dress (damning with faint praise), right at the start when they step out of the lift and Kellie walks straight to camera I noticed that it just emphasised that she has no waist - her torso is straight up and down.

Here's Ginger Rogers' in her costume for the original Let's Face The Music and Dance. Ms Rogers had a beautiful dancer's body, but I bet she and Jean-Louis made sure some subtle corsetry made the most of her waist.

With added feathering, I really didn't like that dress

12 weeks they had to get just one dress to fit her and look nice and they came up with that, which accented every body flaw she has.

Sigh, just one wardrobe, just one !

I actually thought she looked best in the Nancy one though it would have been better to have been a dress rather than top and skirt 😤

I so agree - I'm not Kellie's greatest fan, but what has she ever done to wardrobe and makeup that they can't give her the wow look that so many others get every week? She really is good looking and slim, so lots to work with. Wish she'd stamped her foot early on and done some screaming then...

I genuinely think it was Kevin's "concepts". They could give her a ballgown when he asked for it, ok, not the most flattering but they could do it. He is such a cockwomble, he sneaks into finals by default by doing just enough when he needs to. He's as much of a smoke & mirrors merchant as Gleb, he's just less brazen about it and thinking about it, I'd take Gleb over sneaky TTF any day.

How does he manage to sweep so many, including the judges away, so that they forget the technique they expect from everybody else? That VW was an abomination, every other pro would have been slaughtered for that, the singing, the lifts, the actual lack of VW.

I didn't watch last year, but i really like Frankie Bridge. Would she have won it with someone else, or was Caroline an unstoppable force?

Frankie was a lovely girl but you couldn't have dragged a personality out of her with a Dyson on full suck. Then again the end of last series was such a random mess who knows?

Some would say the same about Jay, but he's all woobie and cute and stuff, so he's got my ovary vote

I saw her on something recently - CiN I think - and couldn't believe it was the same woman. Not sure where her personality went last year or whether it got sucked into a vortex of Grimsby.

I could never get past her partner to actually see her, she seemed sweet, and they went to Grimsby on a day trip once I think, but that's about all I remember

She was also, unbeknownst to her, in the early stages of pregnancy for the second half of the series. I don't know much bout yoos ladies and your hormones and stuff but maybe that had an effect.

I'd say the same about Kellie, nearly all my feelings about her are wrapped up in my frustration with and dislike of him. I love her when she's away from him, when she's interviewed on her own on ITT, I think she's brilliant.

I'd have loved her if she'd have been with Tristan and he'd have looked at her like she was mental if she'd tried the shrieking with him. He'd have calmed down her manicness.

Usually makes you more emotional not less, I would have said. I cheated and adopted

Maybe she was exhausted and had really bad morning sickness?
