Have you seen this:

.@bbcstrictly's Vicky Gill wins Costume Design - Entertainment and Non Drama Productions #rtscraft

https://twitter.com/rts_media/status/671673159498735616

I supposed they have seen only Katie's, georgias, Anita's and Helens but not Kellie's.

Are we all post Peter having adrenaline withdrawals?

We were almost off the page 😱
The 'Really Time' threads were getting on my last nerve so I went to play in the attic (and do some work as well, obviously )

Apparently her competition was confined to War Drobe on Raised by Wolves and Keith Lemon - no wonder she won

I must admit, if i had a dressing room or walk in wardrobe, I would love some of her drawings framed on the wall, but I think she's a better artist than costume designer.

But then maybe I'm being unfair, maybe she has to work within a very small budget and within a limited time frame for outfits on Strictly and so can't take the time or expense to structure the dresses properly?

Very true!

I think most of her ideas are good, but she fails some contestants.

I couldn't bring myself to watch PDuh on ITT last night. There is a possibility I might have missed his interesting and insightful ruminations on the whole Strictly experience but somehow I doubt it.

Well done Vicky. It will make the post-series nervous breakdown seem all worthwhile.

I agree. It can't be an easy job, especially as she doesn't know from week to week whose costume is going to be redundant.

They just don't seem to be able to cope with different body shapes/heights. Some of the dresses look gorgeous in picture form, but picture form is of a lady with an impossibly small waist and long, willowy limbs, quite a few of the contestants (and the majority of females in fact) are not built like that - so everything gets lost when the dress is made. I bet Kellie's waltz 'thing' looked lovely in the drawings, but in execution

On one of the future contestants threads someone suggested Claudia Fragapane as a future contestant, who would also apparently love to do it. Whilst I'd love it and her, Claudia is tiny, I mean seriously tiny, most of the Chinese gymnasts tower over her, but she's also got an extremely athletic and powerful body, I would hate to think exactly what Vicky Giggles would stick her in

If you don't know her, she's in the middle of this picture, and remember female gymnast do not tend towards tallness http://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/image...b5850bdbb5.jpg

Wikipedia has her height at 1.37m. She can't be that short??? Kylie Minogue is one of the tiniest celebs and she is around 1.52 (I think a bit less even).
Surely 1.37 m can't be right!

And yes, her frame being so gymnastic, it's not going to be easy to dress.

Thats 4 foot 6, I don't think that can be right, we know from Kellie they can dress an athletic figure, I always said they couldn't dress anyone with boobs but now I know they also can't dress anyone without boobs

Mind you they managed Victoria Pendleton and her abs of steel

Yeah she is that short, they go on about it all the time at gymnstics meets.

From waht I remember her parents (certainly her mother) are teeny tiny too.

I think she is, watching the World Championships there was this tiny Chinese gymnast (sorry, can't remember her name), clearly shorter then all her team mates, at one point she went over to give Claudia a hug and she towered over her.

Who would they even pair her with? I know Karen with Jeremy looked like a girl dancing with her father, but Claudia with just about any of the male pros would really look like she was dancing with her dad!

She could be excellent though.

It's so bizarre. He says all the right things, yet never sounds convincing. Is it just the accent? Him?

I think someone has had a word with him about "can I just say..." as there were fewer than I would have expected. Booo!

They must save a fortune & time by not having to use flesh coloured panels to support the dresses these days?

I agree, the turnaround time is crazy - but on the other hand it doesn't cost anything to steer the celeb in the direction of a style that actually suits them.

I actually be grieved that all that hard work had gone in to making someone look like a sparkly sack of spuds.

I think they would need to bring back Vincent. I think he was the shortest of the pros ever on the show. And probably would still be a bit too tall.

Yes, but Victoria is taller - about 5' 5" - and has an awesome figure. She is actually like the sketches!

She's a similar build to Aliona, who they generally dress really well, or at least in stuff that fits.

Although I joke about the ladies, it's not often I drool over anyone, even the gorgeous Natalie. But I make an exception in Alionas case. She has worn red twice now this series and each time, I have had DOT type thoughts run through my mind. She has a wonderful body and red so suits her.

If I could have any female pro body I would probably choose Aliona's. Or Oti, but I just I am not as acquainted with hers. That sounds wrong but you know what I mean.

No, I know exactly what you mean. There was a back stage photo of her in the paso outfit, god she's got killer abs, and yes, I'm very, very jealous, and also far too lazy to ever do anything about it

Seriously, can these Really Time threads not stop now

Been reading these blogs from a magazine.

Really suited to the NAT thread posters and DOTs of various types.

Love the HIT and MISS - but you need to read to the end.

Don't always agree with the writer - think she's another who is a bit hard on Jay - but what do I know?

I love this. Thanks for sharing Fred. I do agree with her, a lot. I shall read this again. Great fun and very witty.

Unappreciate? Um, yes. Spending 4 hours de-cluttering second bedroom for veiwing because sodding buyers have no imagination. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.............

That was me, on here, when I said I'd join the mass flounce if Pondray won, but then I'd have to un-flounce if Claudia F took part. And yes, I agree about War Drobe - they wouldn't have a clue how to dress her!

I'm so looking forward to Jay and Aliona's rumba. If it goes right, it'll be beautiful, I'm sure. Don't like the song much though but it may grow on me.
