Never mind scoring showdances, I think they should score the frocks.
Kellie wouldn't have got any tens then. |

An open letter to the producers -
Dear Louise Rainbow and minions, The show dances are shite. We've put up with the buggers for years now but enough is enough. Time for a change next year. I trust you've got your thinking caps on. A Freddo and a swizzles lolly to the best idea. Happy Christmas and some pepto bismol for Craig xxxxxxxxx |

I like Gleb but his recent tweet to his former partner Adelina( Russian Strictly) made me a feel a bit bad for Anita. ....I don't recall him speak to her like that all series ; even when they were eliminated.
#I wish I could dance with you again # love always # My Queen# What about Anita Gleb ? ![]()

I think the finalists should all do at least one dance that is the same.
Pick it out of a bag. And all do the same dance. Then we can compare them. I just watched it all again. I won't miss Kellie and her constantly open mouthed gurning and whooping. |

I loved Jay's showdance but appreciate why many don't get it.
But I'd completely overhaul the final, completely. No judges' choices, they're unfair. They also drag the show down. The final should be excellence, not dances that didn't work I'd have favourite ballroom, favourite Latin and you can dance a semi-final dance if you want. Then third dance can be the dance you missed but with lifts if you want. "Showdance" is just too wide a concept and doesn't really mean anything. Or they all do a dance like a lindy or a mambo that no-one has done before so we can compare them. But I'd also either to decide to enforce the rules all series long or not have them at all. But you can't have a go at Gleb & Anita for lack of salsa in their salsa and then let Kevin do THAT VW. I don't even know that I will bother to watch next year, Jay utterly saved this series for me. |

I know its an unappreciation thread, but what I liked about this series is that most of us had no clue who Jay was at the start and yet we all took him to our hearts/bosoms [and in some cases.....ovaries] and loved him.
And he went and bloody won the thing. That's nice that is. |

Bib. True. Isn't is amazing that this series which has been a fantastic ones till the final has had such a unfair ending? It's so sad that not one fan of any of the finalists ( or even quarterfinalists) can be totally happy. It's really sad. Huge misfire from the producers. |

I think that the dances in the final should get back to the old final format. This judges choice malarkey doesn't work and it's sometimes skewed in someone's favour.
This year was the WORST set of judges choice ever. I didn't like any of them; seeing Jay and Aliona redo their Quickstep still annoyed me and I still didn't like it even though there was major improvement. Next year, tptb should scrap judges choice. |

I have - they were fantastic. And although, yes, Cheap Flights is a masterpiece (did you know that it's gone fungal?
), I think there are others equally as good if not better.Wonderful women, all of them. They're taking a break at the minute but if (hopes fervently) they're back touring in the not too distant future, I'll see them again. ![]() they suddenly reappeared - hoorah! Saw them last year and hope the current hiatus is a short one.' Dogging '. is easily found on YouTube, if any one wants another example - not for the easily offended

As an aside from the sour taste of the final, I keep meaning to unappreciate seeing adverts on TV for that new compilation album Len Goodman's Ballroom Bollocks... 3 (yes, 3!) CDs packed with all of Len's favourite ballroom music. It is, apparently, the perfect gift for Christmas!
I mean, who wouldn't want an album of old music they either can't stand or already own, hand-picked by a grumpy old git off the telly? |

Gleb made the mistake of going off piste in an ordinary one. I think next year could/should be a good casting - lots of newly retired athletes looking for something to fill a few months, with a bit of luck. Might calm Len down if his sportsmen don't go out in the first rounds

I'd have voted for him if he'd turned out to be A Jeremy Dancer - the fact that he turned out to be one of the best male celebs through all the series was a total bonus

Just as long as he doesn't decide to prefer some lumbering weightlifter or shot putter over an "airy-fairy" gymnast or sprinter who dances like a dream.

Last year I completely lost interest after Pixie was eliminated, so this year I was looking forward to the final because of Jay. Beforehand I didn't think I'd mind who won. It never bothered me that Abbey won because I knew Natalie was the better dancer. However, the attitude of the judges spoilt my enjoyment of the final. Their ridiculous bigging up of Kellie as the second coming of Cyd Charisse; nit-picking at Jay, and treating Katie as though she had gatecrashed the final has left a very sour taste.

I loved watching Jay dance. I can't remember being that eager to see what the next week would bring since Colin Jackson. Although I supported Ramps, and Austinwazrobbed, it's only the 2 quiet and fairly shy men that thrilled me when they danced. (Not that Ramps was outgoing & loud)
But Colin was a lot better at talking. I was less 'shut up and dance' with Colin than with Jay. |

After having a rewatch, I am unappreciating the distinct lack of dancing in the group dance
. Poor Anthony doesn't even get to touch Oti. |

I think they need to make the show shorter. As much as I love it, the semis and finals are always a disappointment as they are all so knackered by then! Get it down to 12 couples, bring back the group celeb dances so they get used to learning 2 routines a week earlier.

I agree. There was a point in October/November when I felt that Strictly had been going on for ever, we still had loads of crap dancers in it and there were still 9 couples left!
That coincided with the Jay beige dances for me that made it worse. He had a run of horribly underwhelming dances from AS on that I don't go back and watch. Think it was AS, AT, foxtrot. Considering Jay is my favourite celeb ever, he had a load of dances I really didn't like - QS, AT, AS, foxtrot and VW. But when he was good, he blew everyone else away - jive, charleston, paso, tango, waltz and salsa. His charleston was far better technically than anything else we've seen on Strictly (forgetting ugly mistake) and was far better than either final charleston. |

I honestly don't think he is a natural ballroom dancer. As Ourleona could make Harry into a good/great/brilliant (delete as appropriate), I think the issue was more that Jay was really not ballroom hold guy. |
