I don't know who it was, but that is totally true.

I feel like this week, might be the week we get decent footwork out of her maybe? I'm hoping outside choreographers have come in to help with the routine. They really know their stuff, and should impart some of their knowledge to Anita. (and maybe to Gleb too )

I think a lot of us have said it in one form or another over the past week or so, I know I did, but I'm definitely not the only one. It's like he's teaching her a paragraph of a language that she can repeat at will, but he's not teaching her the basic grammar rules that means she can work it out for herself.

I guess it's hard to teach what you don't really get yourself?

I am unappreciating being called out on a mission of mercy to take my niece to A&E (nothing serious - sprained ankle) and falling through my mother's bloody fence which was blown down in the mad weather of the weekend. I have banged my cheek and scraped my knee and look far more of a casualty case than said niece.

Hope you're alright, in all seriousness.

Poor thing! Make sure you are ok.

I'm fine. If the fence hadn't been down it would have caught me and I'd have just stumbled a bit. Cheek is looking bruised though - the kids are going to think I've been in a pub brawl when I go in tomorrow. And I haven't. For once.

Thanks for the concern though people x.

Glad you're not badly hurt. Have fun spinning a yarn to the kids about how you got the bruises!

That's it exactly, she can repeat parrot fashion, but she doesn't really understand what she's doing or the rules/technique of what she's doing - which is such a shame IMO, and why I never, apart from her first week with the Charleston, get any joy of dance from her I think.

Not mad about the music myself and have not seen the film. It just never appealed to me.

I suspect the judges always say the rumba is hard because it demands a real sense of your own body confidence and the ability to show emotion and plain which, for many English men, is excruciating (they have a really hard time in AT too because it is so intimate). Even doing the Latin movement for them is mortifying.

And women can be just as uptight. Anita hates emotional stuff and Katie is much the same. I cannot imagine Kellie doing 'sensuous', unless it was behind closed doors.”

I'm with you, never appealed to me in the slightest. "Music to slit your wrists to" as my Dad used to call it

Not sure about that myself, I think Kevin often stands out for me in group dances with his over dancing , his knees up around his chin style, and his poor ballroom hold, his elbow placement is more often than not wrong.

He never managed to sort out Susanna or Frankies feet and often does dances that are too fast for his celebs, leaving them trailing behind him. He was lucky this year to have Kellie who had basic dance training so makes him look as if he is a better teacher than Gleb, but if you compare Susanna in his 1st year paso to Anita in Gleb 's first year paso, the emphasis was all about the pros in both, there was an awful lot of skirt swirling by the celebs and each dance relied a lot on over the top theming.

Kevin relied on his from grimsbyness for his first 2 years and Gleb on his face. I don't think there is a lot between them.

Kevin is from Grimsby? 😱 Gleb is pretty? 😱 Why do they never mention those things? 😱😜

But I agree with you, they both rely on theming to cover their lack of teaching ability. I know Kevin's themes are weird but they're still there. Much as I'm meh about Aljaz, I do think his ability to teach, especially as he has the more nervy celebs, is impressive

And does dances that are simple and just rely on quality footwork etc. Fair enough Helen had the black and white start to the dance but from that it was just a simple very well done VW.
Aljaz the year of Abbey and the QS had the very large seaside props but that was it in terms of theming.

Oh, I agree totally about Alijaz!
And I agree that Kevin over dances, but he has a very strong background in competitive ballroom dancing, so I am not sure if he is a weak teacher or that his celebs have been not as good as we thought.

I also think Alijaz is a brilliant teacher, and a darn good choreographer for his celeb, whoever they might be.

With Kevin, I think Oti mentioning she'd have to keep up with him before one of the pro dances said it all, I don't think he's able to adjust to suit who he's with. Next year, If he does have a Funnity, or Widdy, I think, horrifically, we're finally going to see the male equivalent of Ola and her cat suit frantically whirling round a celeb who's doing a starfish and nowt else

I'd apologise for the mental images I may have given everyone, but if I'm going down I'm taking you all with me
