What if said short chubby older woman can dance too?
But she won't be seen as a contender, will she? As long as older woman means 65+

As far as I can make out older woman means over 35 for a lot of people...little do they know...

I don't usually comment on this thread but often pop in for a read.
Can I just say that as someone who fit into this bracket (and some!) I prefer to replace the word 'older' with the word 'experienced'! Much more acceptable!

And now I'll disappear and lurk again.

I think sometimes the pro's actually like having an obvious duffer - there's no pressure and they can get the credit if they go further than they should but not the blame if they go out on time - especially when they they look at the pale, wasted and twitchy wreck that was Kev on the threshold of his third final.

I think the worst type of celeb for a pro must be the 'good on paper' variety who turn out to be a bit pants. There's always going to be a slight whiff of 'wasted potential - would have been better with x' whenever they go out, even if it's obvious that the celeb in question was in actuality going to be rubbish whoever they were with.
Very good point indeed! I mean how many people have blamed Gleb for not surgically correcting Anita's feet?

I'm waving the flag for the over *cough50scough*...experienced, relaxed, self confident...all of these apply, I'd say

Cassidy/Nat- Seemed a bit unfair to give the relatively unexperienced dancer a new dance that he's not done before and a Jive at that. Enjoyed them though & loved Nat's boots!
Cassidy used to be a dancer before he joined the Marines (iirc) but I can't remember if it involved ballroom/Latin or not.

Ballet seems to ring a bell for some reason.

Monaogg - just add a bit more make up and claim it's a Mark Bolan tribute

Would have to keep changing the colours to keep up. Still, it would make an interesting challenge for the Strictly make up artists.

Unappreciate how biatchy Craig was about Kristina on CBB BOTS last night (comments about her bosom, unmade up face and temperament). I know he is often comedy catty. Just seemed he was rather gleeful about her bieing in the Bb house and unable to hear or respond.

What did he say about her bosom? Dare I ask?

Maybe its just me but I think Craig has got a lot worse of late, I get that he's the pantomime villain on SCD but lately he seems even worse away from the show. And how dare someone look worse without make-up!

Just watched Tristan on the Seven O'Clock show in Ireland (6 January show) - you can see it here:

http://www.tv3.ie/3player/show/723

Unappreciating that I'm afraid he won't be back in '16 but he did say, yet again, that Strictly was so loooonnnngggg and he also said the pros don't get paid any more if they stay longer in the show (they do in the States). I guess for him that's a good thing

Though to be fair, 9 weeks with Jamelia was great - his personal best - though he made the quarter-finals in his first series in America with Nancy Grace so I guess that's really his best. Bunch of truly crap partners though - except for Jammie and I think she was pretty lazy, especially the first few weeks.

He was lovely -- thought he'd be cooking but he just watched some guy make sausage stew and then he ate some - and some women discussed the joy of divorce parties - anyhow, bye Tristan !!!! Fare thee well...

First Aliona, now Tristan.

Damn, he was great on ITT, and I remember one show where they were a fab double act.

I'm sooooo going to miss him, they should give him choreography corner, can you imagine 'Well Zoe, to be honest, that waltz was a bit sh*te' 'Honestly Zoe, the judges don't know their arse from their elbow when it comes to an Argentine Tango'

Please ITT, I'm willing to donate at least £5 to his salary if you make this happen
