Nooooo!
Wow, how many new pros are going to be needed next year? Aliona, Ola, Tristan gone? Because what's the maximum number of new pros introduced one series? Three? Kristina may be asked back then. |

The reason I would unappreciate Tristan leaving is that he is so true to himself, not unlike a certain Strictly winner!

At this rate, without Tristan and Aliona and the rise and rise of the Clifton Collective, Strictly will need some seriously good contestants next year to tempt me to watch
.Or maybe just Gleb with his shirt permanently off .

Oh I hope I wasn't misleading - Tristan didn't say he wouldn't be back. It's just a feeling I have. IF they had let him dance with Oti in that last pro number (instead of Gleb's 5th pro dance and his third feature couple - the first two were with Kristina and Natalie), then I'd have a bit more hope. He really only had one, with Aliona at the launch show, unless you count Lion King or the group male red-marker thing with Kylie Minogue, which was only half a dance anyway.
But having just bought a new house in Sydney, if that Irish Independent interview is accurate, and him going on about how many months long Strictly is... oh it's just hard to be optimistic. The best outcome for me (because I could still watch him on telly) would be if he was on the Aussie version - if that's where he's going to settle down, I think it would help him to become known there - his wife and her sister are famous there (the Tozzi's - his sister in law Cheyenne hosts that Aussie reality show about models, "The Face" with Naomi Campbell and Zac Posen.) None of my business of course... but that's never stopped me before. Anyhoo... it was Tristan who said Neil Jones would probably be coming onboard. If they downsize the number of female celebs to seven, somebody already has to go -- and then if they hire Neil, a second male pro will have to be dropped. |

Just watched Tristan on the Seven O'Clock show in Ireland (6 January show) - you can see it here:
http://www.tv3.ie/3player/show/723 Unappreciating that I'm afraid he won't be back in '16 but he did say, yet again, that Strictly was so loooonnnngggg and he also said the pros don't get paid any more if they stay longer in the show (they do in the States). I guess for him that's a good thing Elsa - I couldn't view the clip, so not sure if you mean 'he isn't coming back' or that it sounds like he won't be back.... |

Aww. That is disappointing. Tristan Uncut (half-cut?) on the ITT sofa was a highlight of my Strictly.

![]() Damn, he was great on ITT, and I remember one show where they were a fab double act. And Strictly should pay the Pros a bit better! |

I wonder why it isn't blocked for me in the States but it is for you? Tit for tat because BBC i-player is so stingy about letting other countries watch?
![]() ![]() Ack, give over about iPlayer! You should try accessing anything on the ABC site from here to watch DWTS....(prolly doing me a favour making it so difficult mind: it's awful these days )

Lucky you in NOT getting DWTS. I gave it up in 2013. Poor Artem - having his partner snatched by... Val I think. BTW, last night Tristan talked about the series he had Gladys Knight and he was set to have another partner and at the last minute, she was yanked and he got 67 year old Gladys. I betcha he was originally set to have Maria Menounos, the beautiful 30-something that Derek got... In a talk show, when asked who she would have wanted for a partner if she'd picked (instead of His Majesty of course), Maria said Tristan, and Derek looked quite annoyed lol. Maria was too tall for Derek (who's shorter than Tristan)
AND that makes me think that's what Tristan was talking about in that last interview about people going behind the scenes to trip other people up and he hated that about these shows (I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out who would do that on the Strictly cast but I think he may have just still been griping about DWTS which is a vipers' den if ever there were one... and I've got that from horses' mouths). But I didn't know ABC was pissy about sharing - so apologies on the iplayer exclusivity thing. I've managed to work around it

You can set yourself up with a new Apple ID to use Irish iTunes store and then get the app for the tv3player, which is free.
The interview is worth watching. I actually thought he seemed more positive about Strictly than in the last interview he gave to his fansite. I am trying to prepare myself for him not being back in 2016 for the reasons Elsa outlines - possibly not being happy about the way the last series went; wanting settling down in Australia; not being featured as heavily in the pro dances in the latter part of this last series as some of the others etc...but he does say in this recent tv interview that he is lucky to be part of the show, and surely there's got to be a place for pros who are interested in teaching rather than necessarily being mega competitive - and he is good at dealing with strong characters, which has got to be a plus. I'm hoping that he'll want to return once he's had the chance to have a break, and that he'll be asked back. He is great! I'm assuming that even though Strictly is such a long series, he must get more opportunity to see his family being in the UK for a few months than he would do otherwise There is another recent interview where he says he would love to have the opportunity to work in Ireland, and he is judging student theatre awards this year (which is what he was on the tv show last night to promote). http://www.goss.ie/2016/01/strictly-...ce-show/56600/ |

Treating Artem so badly was the last straw.

Anyhow yeah - I'd wish for cancellation but I know the majors would be polluting Strictly/Oz soon after so I hope it runs forever. Gleb has already imported enough of the "spectacle" choreography style over substance. (He learned from the master) |

I think half-cut for most of the time or at least he was channeling The Joker for most Result Shows.
I have mixed feelings about him, sort of admire his Irish laissez faire but sometimes he did come across too don't-give-a-sh*te and I felt a bit sorry for Jamelia. In social media, Jamelia for weeks kept complaining - so hard to be a single mum, her feet hurt, posting about early mornings getting the girls to school, rushing to Loose Women, she was so tired, yada yada. Tabloids said she was often late for rehearsal. Later in the season, on ITT, she told Zoe for the first time, she felt excited to go to the training room - and Tristan rubbed his hands together and said, "Now we're in business." I know you can't piece everything together on bits and bobs of info like that, but I don't think Tristan's lazy or laissez-faire at all. Frustrated perhaps, but not blasé. |

I think series 2 and 3 had at least 4 - maybe 5? And series 4 deffo 4 (James/Ola, Vincent/Flavia)
Series 2 - 5 (Darren, Hazel, Ian, Lilia, Nicole) Series 3 - 5 (Andrew, Hanna, Izabela, Karen, Matthew) Series 4 - 4/5 (Flavia, James, Ola, Vincent, Nicole*) Series 5 - 0 Series 6 - 3 (Brian, Hayley, Kristina) Series 7 - 3 (Aliona, Katya, Natalie) Series 8 - 3 (Artem, Jared, Robin) Series 9 - 1 (Pasha) Series 10 - 2 (Iveta, Karen) Series 11 - 4/5 (Aljaz, Anya, Janette, Kevin, Aliona*) Series 12 - 3/4 (Joanne, Trent, Tristan, Natalie*) Series 13 - 3 (Giovanni, Gleb, Oti) I've included those who took a year off/got fired & rehired (for whatever reason) with an asterisk as extras just because I know lots of people are talking about bringing back Anya/Iveta/Trent/Whoever to replace the current round of departees. I've included Series 1 just for completeness sake. I've not included Emma Slater - Shortest Lived Pro In Strictly History either. Because that would just be silly. |

Mark Wright. IMO, obviously. |

Even with a broken heart after Aliona's departure. ![]() ![]() let's hope Tristan is back, love his attitude. His and hers.I would vote to have Trent and Iveta (just for personality, she is great in other areas too) back. |
