Me! Don't remember a single thing Aljaz has worn and my most abiding memory of Gleb is the godawful extensions in the Maleficent waltz that made him look like Prince Farquhar.
![]() ![]() Genuinely don't remember much about Gleb at all other than his obsession with the flooring. |

Yes, she is due an early slot.
Helen -W1- 3 /6 -W2- 15 /15 -W3- 7 /14 -W4- 11 /18 -W5- 10 /12 -W6- 11 /11 -W7- 4 /10 -W8- 4 /9 -W9- 7 /8 -W10- 3/ 7 Only Peter has had a better treatment throughout. Week order/total of dances. Maybe, I don't really know who is going to open. There is no obvious candidate in terms of dance type. But I would guess, Paso to begin and AT to close? I doubt they will open the show with either foxtrot . I agree with opening the show with a Paso and possibly closing it with the AT but watch them do something entirely different with the order

Do you mind a quick drive-by unappreciation?
I would like to unappreciate the rumba. I would like to unappreciate every single thing about the rumba as a dance. I have just been watching various competition dancers dancing it presumably properly and I feel a bit ill. It might be the only dance that I like less when it's done properly. Hate the over the top hip movement, hate the way the man has to hold himself like a magician's charming assistant, hate the silly arms, hate the opening the curtains move again and again, hate the almost lifts with one foot on the floor - what's the point? - and the move where the man drags the woman's straight body backwards for no reason, and the woman sliding down the man like a helter-skelter, and the undulating and the whole smug fake exaggeration of it. Ughhhh. Thank you for that. Apologies to anyone who actually knows about dancing. Wanders off muttering 'But he could have had the Charleston this week...' If Aliona's choreo has enough basic for Len and Jay keeps her feet on the ground in the lifts, they should be able to score well. The other thing I thought which hopefully will make sense, is its another dance where the girl does all the flourishes and tricky bits choreographically. So whilst the Rumba is very ick and difficult for male celebs to get the basic technique, (which is why they usually look much worse than the females)I wonder, if you have a celeb who can nail the technique, whether they are actually more likely to get higher scores because Aliona will obviously be far better at those flourishes than someone like Kara, so overall the whole dance will look better? Does that make sense? |

I was just about to say the only rumba I liked was Cherie Lunghi's I went back and watched it and was suprised how little hip action there was and her very straight legs, it scored 34, went back and watched Helen's which was extremely similar and got 31. Someone was either overmarked or under marked or, the standard this year is generally better.
I went back and watched Ausin' s jive though which was technically and performance wise not as good as Jays which got 34 to Jay's 37 so that seems fair and consisitant especially as really we know Darcey wanted to give it a 10. Given that it is perceived the marking has got easier than in other years, is it actually consisitant this year? Ot even harder for some? |

![]() And mine I finally realised that even though I am rabble-rousing leader of the ovary voters, I don't fancy any of themAljaz? Meh, too bland! Pasha? Meh, too boring! Tristan? Meh, hilarious but still meh! Gleb? Meh, and he gets a double meh for loving himself far more than the rest of us could even dream of. Kevin only appeals to 9 year old Harry Potter lovers (and Karen for some inexplicable reason) Anton only appeals to 80 year old asexual pearl clutchers who prefer horlicks to all that messy business (we call it sex ). Giovanni is sweet & cute & adorable but my ovaries can't even be bothered to raise an eyebrow of interest. ![]() My ovaries do perk up a bit when Jay dances then they slap me when he's back to 14 year old in his nan's favourite jumper. ![]() ![]() I think I fancy Aliona & Natalie more than the men in Strictly.

Just wondering - has Craig ever given a 10 for a rumba?
![]() I know it's never scored a 40 - but is it just Craig that's holding it back? I think sometimes they have a higher starting point for marking - Cherie as an older lady dancing with a younger man probably had a higher start point out of sympathy ![]() The thing I remember most about the routine is the reprise it had on ITT when Len 'taught' a bit of it to Claudia

And the disco salsa...and the prom themed American Smooth...and the Liver Bird jive where she just sat on a fecking wall for half of it...
Lest we forget that Helen's party latin this year has allowed her to fulfil every woman's dream roles - slutty nurse, slutty mechanic, and slutty mummy.

Love non-dancing Helen. Dancing Helen makes me wibble more than she does waiting for the red light of dance off doom. Love dancing Jay. Non-dancing Jay just reminds me of every fridge raiding 14 year old boy I've ever known. Love non-dancing Tristan. Dancing Tristan makes me think he has taken over dancing lessons from K Clifton. Love non-dancing Janette and Karen. Wouldn't care if I never saw either of them dance again. |

When he gives one word answers to Claud I actually get slightly irritated with him, it's like he's 10 years older and a million times more confident when he's dancing. I def don't want to knit him jumpers I want him to be as cool as he is dancing and am then slightly disappointed when he's not.

The only time was when he gave Rachbot one as a Christmas Present but Alesha only gave her a 9 so she ended up getting 39 for that same sodding rumba for about the 15th time. I laughed.

Cherie Lunghi was a beautiful dancer (but inspired the most bonkers of fans) - the thing I remember about her rumba was Arlene telling James after that she'd never seen him "dance so tenderly". Nice for his wife to hear that!
![]() And who are you calling a bonkers fan ? Actually I was an Austin girl that series but did enjoy Cherie's dancing. |

Anton doesn't appeal to this nearly-80 year old, who cannot stand Horlicks and doesn't have any pearls. I will gloss over the rest of the sentence!

Not really fancy him, but I could see meeting him and falling in love. Tristan? Most definitely. Gleb? Oh, yes. Personality is a put off though. Kevin. NO Anton Even more no. Giovanni- I dont think I am his type ![]() Jay: yes. dancing mode and funny mode tickle my fancy. my 40 yo husband behaves like a 14 yo, so I don't see it as problem as a 25yo. So, yes, basically any male under 60 with a pulse that is not Anton and Kevin. I even fancied Brendan this year!!! ![]() ![]()

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8-r8n104s3Q If the pull through legs and rolling move doesn't appear, I'll be shocked and stunned quite frankly ![]() Also, how peed off is Pete going to be that the one dance which calls for high kneed chin bothering goes to someone else the week he goes? And they got the Jackson 5 track

See, you're alright, you have taste and you don't clutch your pearls 😉 You have to be all those things for Anton to appeal to you
