No - tomatoes do that to me. It doesn't even hurt particularly.
I once had that reaction to Cheddars, of all things.

Looked rather 'Hollywood' actually. Didn't last long though.

And it never happened again, even though I risked Cheddars again after about a year.

bib that's what I was thinking for many many weeks. Lately, I just don't know.

I suppose, but not sure that she actually execute them correctly since many people here who have the knowledge always comment how poor her footwork is.
I don't know technical ballroom, but that resonates with me.

Maybe you can't teach musicality?
Music and the Deaf would say otherwise.

Odd isn't it? I can often eat tomatoes and suffer no effects - but not always. It's an allergy to lysine. Yours must have been an allergy to junk biscuits.

Er, maybe it's just me, but I don't think she's in particular misery

here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9I7mayJw_Ec - the one thing the judges commented on was the fact that she seemed to be having the time of her life

or here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pZ23eShemY

or here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zIvPbTpvIs

Or, well, just about every performance save her rumba. And, personally, I don't think disliking one awkwardly choreographed, notoriously uncomfortable dance is tantamount to not appreciating the joy there is to be had in dancing. Jay didn't look especially happy in QS week either.

And for those who have an issue with whether or not she's striking the perfect balance between having too much fun and not having enough fun OFF the dance floor, the gal doesn't look too miserable here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dA3U03X42I or here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUl-mVOs_pM

She looks quite serious and focused when, ya know, she's learning a dance from scratch but Jay danced his Foxtrot with the expression of a child struggling with a piece of long division and I don't doubt that he loved it 'till he forgot the last third.

As a strand of argument I just find it a little ... tenuous.
I was just wondering whether you expected to change anyone's mind?

If I cared to I could trawl through you tube videos showing Anita being earnest

I don't want to, but more importantly, I can see you have made up your mind, so much so you appear to have joined to post your message.

I just wanted to tell you, nobody is ever going to change their mind about what they think because of what you post, and what's more it's as bad form going into an unappreciation thread unappreciating posters. In fact more to the point not respecting posters is not posting within terms and conditions.

Thanks for the link. Very interesting!
Though by musicality I didn't mean music but musicality in dance, being able to embody the music and move accordingly.
It was a proper question, not rhetorical. As I know there are teachers among the group I thought they may be able to answer.

It wasn't a response to 'she's earnest'. I agree with that. Not one to let my biases overrule my sight.

It was a response to 'I wish she'd show more joy on the dance floor' and 'she doesn't achieve the right balance between focus and lack thereof' during the training.

Hence some evidence of her enjoying the dance floor ... and er having a fun time of it.

I just find it funny when criticisms that could be aimed squarely at other contestants - and much more convincingly - are directed at her.
You see what you see and I see what I see.

It's all subjective - we were told this umpteen times at the weekend as the judges had differences of opinion about what they all saw.

Cheddars aren't junk biscuits 😱😱😱 they're a proper food group - things you eat with your hands that makes your fingers smell 😉

You never know a photo five minutes later and it may spread up his face and gone the whole puffy look.

Back to Gleb's choreo... now I do think it is what dance you have and how you reinvent it that matters. I remember Artem's VW with Natalie being more like a DWTS VW, in other words a waltz with knobs on. Lovely to look at, though. Len had a pop but IIRC the others loved it (Bruno included, despite him being on DWTS too). Maybe in some dances it is more forgivable than others or maybe it is as I say, making the overall spectacle pleasing.

Gleb won't want to dance looking unpretty. I bet they have Pasha on standby...

But Bruno has admitted that if adance "overwhelms" him he will ignore everything and just give it a high mark. Paraphrasing him but basically what he said.

Think it will always depend on whether you are sympathetic to the partnership or not. I absolutely loved Artem's wafting, can't bear Gleb's. But I think it's because I knew Artem could teach it properly, he just made an executive decision not to 😂

Hypocritical? Abso-bloomin-lutely! Do I care? Abso-bloomin not 😂😂😂

I still remain unconvinced by Gleb's actual formal ballroom and Latin creds - and teaching ability. Karen and Janette take a lot of flak for their gaps and he seems just the same, to me. My sneaking suspicion is that he choreographs what he can do and look flashy doing rather than any finer thoughts about being a boundary pusher

Ultimately I think he is another Kevin , all sound and fury, all about him , and his celeb is just along for the ride.

Kevin however can do basic steps, so if anything is worse in that he still is only interested in sound and fury and the only time he tried plain and simple he was boring as anything.

Very poor choreographers the pair of them.

Gleb actually has a pretty strong latin competitive record comparatively from what I can tell. Not so much ballroom...

Watching Anita on ITT tonight defending the rumba, I couldn't decide whether she's just a brilliant saleswoman or she really thinks contempowaft floor bothering is avant garde.

IMO, all celebrities have technical imperfections but it seems to me that the forum's Dance Technicals Committee have zoomed in on Anita's to the point where it now sounds as if her footwork is incorrect in every basic step of each of her dance. Her cha cha footwork is correct and actually very good and certainly better than that of the one fancied by many to be an infinitely better dancer. For me, her basic footwork is always correct, just like the other celebrities'. It may be in need of tidying up in some specific areas of some dances, but since this is SCD and as opined by Kevin; precise technical work is not the be-all-and-end-all. Gleb suffers a similar fate. Because his choreography doesn't feature 50 repetitions of a basic step; it is judged as lacking in content.
