Just wanted to say that I know a number of profoundly deaf salsa dancers. If you saw them dance you wouldn't know they were deaf. Some are better than others, just like the rest of the community but they dance as well as anyone else. Apparently they feel the music as a vibration. The only way you woudl know they were deaf is because they sign to one another. In this they have the advantage over the rest of us who can't communicate or hear ourselves speak over the music in the clubs.

As I said, I didn't disagree that she was earnest. Again, as I said, I was disagreeing with the pretty baseless assertion that she exhibits no joy on the dance floor/off it. By showing some clips where she was, clearly, having the time of her life.

No I didn't expect to change anybody's mind, and nor do I aim to. Doesn't mean that I'm not going to share my opinion. I had a point - I made it, and I had some evidence to back it up, which is more than can be said for many posts on here.
