Yeah, he wuzrobbed, but he was such an annoying twonk (re Danny- you can have too much personality) that I didn't care. And I really can't watch that paso without my toes cramping up.

He's still annoying on the rugby commentary but he does come out with some hilarious (usually unintentionally) one liners so I can forgive him.

Nah, you're fine, all opinions welcome, I still like Chis Hollins and am glad he won and I'm still here

(Although admitting to lustful thoughts over TTF will result in much pointing and laughing - and an emergency appointment in an appropriate establishment )

No way! Danny is brilliant but he doesn't have the bizarre random combination of factors that make me vote.

Ive voted Ringahs and journeys before, unpopular but I also voted for the Clancy (sorry!) Rinder was my most liked but he needs to get a lot better to cement himself as my fave.

The only other criteria I have this year is that I don't want any pro to win twice and equal Aliona So that means no Daisy Naga or Anastacia for me.

(Told you my criteria was random 😂 )

Yes but in Wicked he didn't have to dance. He probably just sat on a broomstick or summat

I liked Chris Hollins too and was glad he won. He wasn't a great dancer but he got such enjoyment out of it.

As for lustful thoughts about TTF - no. Just no. There are some things that are just too awful to be spoken. Is there really anyone with lustful thoughts about him? Really? (Shudder)

I voted for the Clancy too, because I had her in the office sweep and I won loads She was annoying and very tall, but when I was counting my winnings I forgot about all that!

Indeed. I note the backstage footage included lots of bits of him and his cuffs....

Ditto, and ditto. Additionally, Aliona did some great choreo last year. In her previous runs to the final, I had liked very little (SmugFarmer's tango and Harry's VW aside), but I loved quite a few of their dances.

There was an article in the papers saying that famous Hollywood stars also stop updating technology wise at the age they became famous. Many stars can't use a computer, don't google, don't actually use Twitter or Facebook but have their accounts written for them. Have no idea how to book plane tickets etc.

With obvious exceptions, such as Steven a Fry.

I am not saying Danny is like that but he does seem as if he is a bit in a showbiz cocoon where how he appears and what he does on this show is how he thinks he needs to be in order to do well.

I also sense a lot of nervousness in Danny, not about the dancing, but about how the judges perceive him, he goes really pale at the judges table and his upper lip sticks to his teeth as he has no saliva. All physical signs of intense nerves. I think he really wants to do well as a springboard to a " bigger career". He does need to understand that he needs to show something of himself in order to win a personality contest. He doesn't have to have an outgoing personality, Ramps didn't, Kara didn't. They however became beloved as they just loved the dancing so much and let us in. I don't think watching the show anyone feels that they know the real Danny.

Ditto Louise, Mrs Beige altogether and yet, prior to being on the show I always liked her, especially on the clothes show, where she used to be really passionate about clothes.
I know time has gone by, but seriously where did that Loiuse go?

It really is a personality contest as well as a dancing contest and if these celebs want to know how to win, they need to relax, show themselves and people may actually start to get them, become invested in them and then they can win.

At present glorious Oti is who I am routing for, Danny is just her vehicle. Not good enough to win.
He would do well to look at Nat and Greg their partnership is becoming really interesting.
I am beginning to look forward to seeing him progress. He needs to stop being so pigeoned toed though.
Also Katya and Ed, she is bringing on a fat dad dancer into someone who can dance with personality and charm.

Am I right in thinking that Danny and Louise were stage school kids? Might that be why they don't show anything of their real selves? Ex-stage schoolies do seem to have that persona they put on that isn't who they really are and the danger is that their stage school persona becomes all they know.

Or they may just be suffering from Pretty Person Empty Vessel syndrome.

Stage schools do seem to churn out a coveryor belt of grimly competetent, competitive students. At the minute, that's where I have Danny and Louise. Give them anything to do - fencing, horse riding, dancing - and they will learn enough to be able to pass muster but once it's over then it's just a line on the res-hoom-hay.

Neither of them seem to have been bitten by the actual pleasure of learning to dance yet and it makes watching them a bit clinical and sterile. I'd rather watch Greg, for all his technical defects than someone getting it grimly right.

I quite llike Kevin but do not have any lustful thoughts thank goodness!! I am more likely to go for Ed Balls as I am an eye girl. I am sitting here horrified at the thought then I see those blue eyes and just go awww!! Feel free to book me into any establishment you like, I deserve it!!

Yeah same.

Or even Judge Rinder or Will who have lots of faults but are really enjoying themselves and throwing themselves right into it.

And even Ed, dare I say, if his teknik improves. He's certainly putting his all into it.

Not appreciating the strong whiff of "it's all about Oti" for Team Doti. Even though I really like her, it should be about the sleb.
Year of the Anton should NEVAH be repeated.

Having said that, the toning-down effect Lesley is having on Anton is quite endearing and he's almost bearable this year ... so far .

I fear Danny may have a touch of the ex soap star whose not been in anything since! (It's almost as classic a strictly tale the ex politician/serious type turned comedy contestant!) It can be hard to move on from a soap, not many do it successfully really, and strictly or any other similar show is a classic 'hey look I still exist HIRE ME!' Show. Sadly he's not exactly disproving the 'Hollyoaks characters have the acting ability and personality of cardboard cutouts' theory. I fear the blandness may be an attempt to 'appeal to as many people as possible', similar to advising people to paint walls beige in houses you want to sell because bright colours are too 'divisive', yeah you don't upset anyone but god it's so boring! Louise seems to be aiming towards a similar thing, don't upset anyone be nice and 'mass market' but zzzzz

I think with Danny he is so used to be being a actor that he is finding it hard to be himself on Strictly. Hopefully the more he appears the more he will become comfortable. Having said that I really like Danny and like the fact he isnt in your face and more laidback.
