It completely soured the final last year, and now they're deragging it across into this year.

Did TTF really twimisify Amy Winehouse? <sigh>

No vendetta against him. His jive was very, very, very good. Personally, my issue as such is with the judges. I don't think they did him any favours, actually. One ten fine, two tens.... a stretch. But for me he wasn't three marks better than Danny. (Not sure he was any better, but that's being nit-picky.)

It's a talent. I hope next week (assuming they're still in, don't know spoiler) they have to QS to Ace of Spades. Or samba to Firestarter. Etc Etc Etc.

IMO Ore was better than Danny, and is generally better. I get that Danny is excellent but I just don't get any real sense of passion from him dancing - I think he said something on ITT recently about learning the steps he's taught but still not actually knowing what the dance is, or something to that effect. Ore seems so much more into what he's doing and I think that comes across.

I do agree though that the judges may have done Ore more harm than good, although I do like to see good dances rewarded with good scores.

He did nothing at all bless him, but Len compared his Jive to "that Jive"

I feel exactly the same about Danny, but having said that his QS was the first sign for me, of him really loving dancing. I felt like he was engaged with that routine and dancing the dance rather than the steps

And then gave him a 10.

I really don't think there's any rationality behind who the forum hates. Well maybe Kevin sometimes.

OMG I thought his dance must have involved drowning kittens or some such. I see now it was far worse.

I don't see any connection between Ore and Jwann. She seems to forget he is the one being marked, and dances as though she's in a competition with a number on her back. She's a bit Tina Sparkles and no matter how good he might be, I find the whole partbership a bit meh. Danny is a bit of a bimbo but I really want to watch him & Oti dance, there's a bit of a spark there.

Let me just leave this thought here - Danny & Oti and Ore & Jwann get to the final. Whose showdance fills you with horror? I don't think Jwann is capable of full-on Bacofoil, sadly, but I do think it would be all stage school 'hey kids, let's do the show right here!' Cliff Richard musical type horrors plus kitchen sink.

As to the Jay v Ore v Danny kerfuffle, I think it's just storyboarding: building up a non-ringer, giving Danny some competition, reminding everyone of the best-jive-ever™ to give this year's series a talking point beyond skipped dance offs and voluntary departures.

Indeed. I'd already been wondering what horror awaits us next week now that she's had two weeks of straight, un-themed routines.

That comment was incredibly unprofessional of Len. He really does feel like he is burning his bridges.

Not having been able to sleep last night I rewatched some of the dances. I'd swap Ore and Danny's points. That'd be more accurate. Laura and Daisy, I'd lop a few points off.

Then I watched the Stepford Foxtrot.

Do you think in Strictly World Mimsy spends the day hoovering and fluffing the cushions before Daddy comes home, they have pressed tongue sandwiches (it's the only tongue Mimsy's going to allow here), before they finally settle down to a bed that has one of those cotton dividing walls so no one sees anyone else's tinkle parts.

I can't wait for the Quickstep(ford)!

I thought Ore's jive was very good; well choreographed and he danced it with energy and precision.

However I think the best jives are when the couples are in sync and mirroring each other.
In most of the side by side sections, Joanne was doing frenetic skirt wafting / knicker flashing which a) Ore obviously didn't do and b) looked wrong with the whole 60s vibe of the routine.
It almost looked like she was trying to out dance him rather than partner him.
If she had done the SAME as Ore, it would have looked so much better.

To be fair to Len, Ore had already mentioned Jay's jive and how he wanted to compete with it in a training video earlier in the week. So Len was using a comparison that Ore himself had already made.

Absolutely. 😂. I also suspect they wear chin to toe voluminous cotton nighties with a buttonable flap for when planned baby making (without tongues) is scheduled.

The knicker flashing was highly irritating and seemed to serve no purpose, from what I could see.

He also said something to Brendan along the lines of, " now don't start getting stroppy,I know what you are like" which I thought was a bit rich after the "keep up,shut up" to Will.

On another note, what has happened to Anton? He has really reigned it in this year and is doing proper routines for Lesley. Do you think he is getting ready to be a judge?

Which I believe Vicky Giggles has them lined up to wear for the Paso - where a stomping daddy will waft Mimsy with a candlewick bedspread for two minutes, in a scenario based on his ire being raised by her mislaying the pools coupon .

😁 Which will all take place in the shadow of their ornately carved four poster with Laura Ashley's finest floral curtains.....
