To be fair, Darren was quite fat.

No, I don't think the producers are desperate for any particular couple to win, nor
am I into conspiracy theories about manipulation to get a particular couple the win, but I do think the producers encourage the judges to comment and/or score to engineer interest and excitement.

So, my take on this year (and I'm probably talking out of my proverbial) is that they fear people will lose interest because they think Danny has it in the bag. Louise doesn't seem to be generating much interest so far; Daisy has gone off the boil, and Laura is proving a bit of a disappointment. Ore obviously has talent and Joanne upped her game in Week 3. They see that Ore's jive is looking good in practice, so suggest to the judges that they might try and be positive in their comments. Come Saturday Ore plays a blinder and Len (not a man noted for either subtlety or diplomacy) over eggs it with "Move over, Jay". Nobody seems to be bothered with Bruno's praising it alongside Jill and Jay.

Now, Ore isn't a stupid man and I guess his inner reaction when he heard Len's words was "Shiiiiiiiiit! Take a sledgehammer to my knees, why don't you? You couldn't do more damage." Hence, his 'always wanted to learn the jive; being compared to Jill and Jay is beyond his wildest dreams' performance on ITT as an exercise in damage limitation.”

Completely agree with you, I don't think they have a master plan at all but the judges do fall for various dancers or partnerships and then get petulant when they are not popular, Kelly last year through to Lisa Snowden.

Ditto they take against others, Len and Artem with most of his partners, through to Giovanni last year.

I can remember Len and Craig doing it, Darcey getting all peculiar over muscles, but Bruno seems to be an equal opertunity luster and I can't remember him over favouriting anyone except maybe SCOOOOOT.

Bruno, bless his little heart, seems to favour the tall, leggy ladies - basically anyone who was/could have been a partner of Ian Denise/Zoe/Penny and now Laura and Daisy.

Oh, Bruno has favourites (how many 9s has he given Laura of all people already?) but he's so guileless about it it's hard to get annoyed. I remember on It Takes Two when Claudia asked him why he'd given Bunton a 9 or a 10 for some dance that clearly didn't deserve it and he quite openly said "because if she hadn't been top of the leaderboard she would have been in the bottom 2 because nobody's voting for her". It's the most honest any of them have ever been about how they manipulate things but it was so BRUNO it just kind of flew over everyone's head.

Thank you, Monkseal, so Bruno is a stealth manipulator with charm, now that's the way to do it Len and Craig.

Not apprecting that poor Greg is being misquoted by the horrid, untruthful tabloid papers.

I've seen Greg in a couple ofTV programmes that weren't to do with athletics and he came across very well.

PS Darren wasn't fat!

Yes Bruno is quite blatant with his favouritism. Often to the point of being 2 points higher than all the other judges.

Unappreciating that I am waiting in for a delivery when I have a lot to do elsewhere today.

How do you explain what he said to Claudia. Paraphrasing: "Look at you, you look so cute, one just wants to take you home." Then he looked at AJ and said "You, too."

He makes an exception to the type for those of Italian extraction. See also Lytton, Louisa.

Unappreciating that it's a war zone out there
I know people get emotionally wrapped up in their favourite couple but a minority seem to have taken over the forum and are causing havoc. Some of them really need to get a life.

Ok leaving lemon drizzle, carrot and banana cake and a pot of Earl Grey as it's tea time. Where's the best china kept?
