"Ive never done it before, Im starting from scratch"

arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

WE KNOW!

you DONT have to mention it every time you are interviewed
But that's not really true anymore is it? After months of one on one tuition from a professional?

Kellie to bugger off this weekend please there is no alternative. She's seemed knackered for the last month, Kevin's seemed knackered for the last series and a half, she's still yomping her head off like a car alarm every chance she gets, the barely concealed strop both of them threw over their entirely deserved Quickstepathon placement was embarrassing (you still would have been bottom 2 without it loves trust me), she's so stage school she makes Letitia Dean look like Marlon Brando, Oliver! makes me want to puke and most of all I AM BORED TO TEARS WITH THE OBSESSION WITH HOW SHE IS DRESSED.
Blimey, so much for me thinking you were going for balance and impartiality on DS this year

Some people will always resent and rail against a natural talent like Jay or Helen. It's a kind of back-handed jealousy of someone who shines too brightly. It was ever thus, in all walks of life, including business. The old Tall Poppy syndrome.

Thanks Sofakat - down to the last letter exactly my thoughts, but I wasn't quite brave enough to come out with them

Im not sure I agree LF, sorry, but then I can take or leave Helen. She's not rubbish, but she's not as good as the judges are telling me she is either and every year I do this, I blame the celeb not the judges. All the way back to NotClooney, my problem with her was always that judges overlooked faults or downright shit in her that they wouldn't in anyone else.

Helen's rumba was poor and got a ridiculous score.

But saying all of that, I really do love Helen the person. She's quirky and funny and sweet, but Helen the Latin dancer, ewww..not for me. Her ballrooms are a dream though.o

And she's better than Anita, Kellie and Katie at least.

Eta: not in any way aimed at you, just a random stream of my consciousness leading on from your post. You, Sofakat and Coppertop see something in her that I generally don't.

Because she is being compared to those who were many steps ahead of her from the get-so.

and to be fair, she only brings it up as a response to a question.

Very probably because I could point out that I not sure that sanctimonious was the word you were looking for. Now that is me being a pedant, and going by the Collins dictionary, so I not sure where I am affecting a show of piety or displaying holiness,

However you can feel what ever you like about me ( though I and several other posters have already pointed out, this board is for discussing the show. ,not other posters. )

I was rather hoping that I had portrayed that I really don't care what you think about what I feel about Anita. I am entirely allowed to feel like it when and however I like. I would really rather that in the the unappreciation thread I was allowed to unappreciate in peace.

And actually as a sop I have appreciated Anita in here just recently.
Sanctimonious - making a show of being morally superior to other people.
That was exactly how you came across and still are coming across. Your opinion is as valid here as everybody else's.

He'll get crumbs everywhere.

I'm still managing to avoid safety pin-gate. I'm obviously extremely talented at only seeing what I want to see.

Unappreciating buying a really inexpensive tape dispenser that you hold between your fingers whilst you wrap but it's made for bloody right handed people, as per bloody usual and if you're left handed it goes on your right hand and is upside down and back to front so faces away from your left hand, grrr...#firstworldproblems

Why thank you tugs forlock !

Curtsies, no idea why I have to have to have permission to unappreciate in an unappreciation thread.

No please don't tell me,

Morally again please don't tell me

Sighs !

Anita I find is coming across very earnest I really can't be bothered with anyone who is earnest, it's not a quality I want from an entertainment show.

Nor really a forum discussing an entertainment show,

So back to unappreciating , just for Monkseal

Kellies dresses oh dear just so inappropriate for a light entertainment show that is supposed to be winning awards for its delightful costumes.

I'm scared she'll get the shocking pink net skirt with fairy lights that she wore in training, although that one really doesn't scream "Dickensian tavern" at me.

Ah, come on. Unappreciating Wardrobe is half of what this thread was built on & they've certainly been the gift that keeps on giving in respect of Kellie's dresses. It's bad when I find myself yearning for the days of Quality Street wrapper dresses*.

I agree that it's her time to go though, partly because she's already in Maslen territory & partly because, if the judges did NotClooney her to the final, we'd have to hear Kevin's next partner being repeatedly reminded that he's never yet missed out on the final & I have felt for Kellie having them go on about how he'd never been in the dance off before.

*I reserve the right to change my mind if she comes out dressed as a Hazelnut In Caramel or a Noisette Triangle etc

I appreciate that that is her trope - but really it needs to stop now.

She has had a quarter of a year of one-on-one intensive training and if there was any musicality or natural ability it should have kicked in and the gap have been bridged.

Also, it really doesn't do Gleb's teaching credentials any favours to keep highlighting the beginner status - although the fact her footwork is still that of a beginner means he's not doing much about that himself, either.

You mean you don't have fantasies of the New Zealand hunk, in his pants and 4 layers of fake tan, you in a bacofoil monstrosity, him hefting you like you're a side of beef, then almost dropping you repeatedly? Shoving you from him like a turkey going in the oven, his arse stuck out so far, Sofakat is resting her drink on it? It's every little girl's dream, isn't it? Isn't it? No, me neither

It's all she's got really, you can't really mention the dancing

Helen has the whole fragile beauty in a gorgeous dress storyline, dancing with her prince

Kellie has the working so hard, it's work, work, work until I drop storyline

Katie has got the sentimental seasoned old pro comes good storyline

Georgia has got the underdog, pocket rocket storyline

Jay has the phwoarr, control those ovaries girls storyline.

So all Anita has is "I'VE NEVER DANCED BEFORE" on repeat ad nauseum, otherwise it's the "wonder of Gleb" and we're all over that or the utterly tedious underscoring storyline

He just seems so anti anything she normally likes in a man. If anyone tried to "this girl" her, she'd deck him one.

Brenda????

Georgia is going for the under 10 vote in a big way this week.

I must admit for the first time ever, I did fancy him a bit on when he was dancing in a suit on the pro dance, the one with the office when he proposes to Oti.

I was going to say the one where Karen and TTF end up together, but oh wait, that is EVERY SINGLE one of the pro dances.

I must admit to there being times when I've not been unmoved by the sight of Brenda twirling around in his tails . He was also very nice to me in a hotel bar and bought me and my friend a drink.

Then I saw one of his shows and he was a bit of a dick

I think we're all assuming that's the actual reason for it, but I would think wardrobe could hem a pair of trousers in a few minutes. In fact, I would expect seamstresses and dressmakers that experienced to be able to run up a fairly simple pair of trousers in a few minutes.
Not as if they need pockets 😒
