Has the rose covered arbour /swing made an appearance this year or has it defected to Channel 4 along with the Great British Bake Off?
Perhaps Bake Off contestants will have to reproduce it in icing

Katya has the fixed grin of someone wondering if Erin Island takes people who haven't finished their first year.

Has Tess had a make up touch up? The lippy is hideous.

If Strictly ever got a Brownlee I may never recover.
The Brownlee boys live just up the road from me, used to see them out cycling when taking my son to school. They did Christmas lights in 2012 too, really lovely lads.

I'm unappreciating the whole show, it was boring as hell without a single wow moment, even Ore's waltz was tedious if technically good.

I still hate the rumba with only a couple of notable exceptions, none of which were tonight.

As I have the house to myself at the moment (well, me and the cats, but they get no say in what to watch) I've just had a quick whizz through the show on catch up. First impression is why are they trying to turn it into slapstick? Clauds is completely nuts and very funny, but Toss could not do funny if you covered her in marmalade and hit her with the Funny Stick.

Some thoughts:

Why the very bad ventriloquist?
Judge -brilliant, loved it. How did he do that with his legs???
Lesley - just no. Anton quite suited guyliner, but the trousers
Why did Louizzzzzzzzzzzz and TTF get a day trip to Paris? Waste of my licence fee.
Greg -mmmm. Bit worried about him, Nat seemed to be trying the Ola Kitchen Sink tactic. She looked gorgeous though.
Ore yawwwwwwwwwwn. All 9s? Really?
Danny & Oti undermarked again.
Darcy seems to have got the end of the neon yellow War Drobe fabric job lot from Borough Market.
Anastacia was way better with Gorka but think this might be the Dead Cat Bounce week for her.

Can't really remember any of the others in any detail. Your comments were way more entertaining than the show.

Now, breakfast. I'm having tea and a toasted veggie sausage sandwich. What do you fancy?

My main point of unappreciation is that although I was so pleased to have got back into the forum at the beginning of Strictly, I can’t really think of anything that hasn’t already been said! Very unsatisfactory. Darcey sozzled every week, Craig putting on ever more pancake, Len grumpy and irritable. And can they stop telling the celebrities off for the choreography, and the pros for the music choices? Yes, the music is unsuitable in a number of cases – and maybe the judges could point that out to TPTB in no uncertain terms?

Wardrobe is erratic – some outfits are lovely (I would like Jo’s Singin in the Rain one, please), some less so; some are suitable, others seem cobbled together…

As for the dancing – Ed and Robert desperately need unthemed, non-comic routines so they can concentrate on dancing without stunts and silly faces. I find Danny and Oti a pleasure to watch, and very much liked the oomph of their rumba. But although I don’t find anyone positively unpleasant, most of the others are more or less lacking in oomph.

But then I agree with Wiskas2 that entertainment can always be found in this thread.

That sounds fab. Can I have one too with loads of onions and ketchup??? Think you've just inspired my breakfast choice. V cross as just been woken up by being STOOD on by 30kgs of aged greyhound.

Totally agree with you about the show. Already sick of producers' narrative of under marking Danny and overmarking Ore to give Danny a run for his money. Desperately hoping Cloudier will sneak through and grab the win while "the boys" face off, but she currently looks hampered by AJ's inexperience. The only other alternative is a Louise win, and given her blandness, think she will be a surprise bottom 2 any week now. Only upside being that if Kevvers finally won, he'd be relegated to duffer duty ad infinitum. Just can't seem to get invested in anyone this year. Even RobDOT needs to be a better dancer as face pulling is not enough to distract from mediocre technique. Was really excited about Cloudier taking part, but AJ Ritchie Cunningham Pritchard is a serious turn off....

Enjoy breakfast. 😀.

Cloudier and AJ haven't jived yet.a well timed Jive into the final run could still see them come from nowhere a la Kellie with her AS.

Having said that Danny and Oti haven't either. I think whoever jives last will have a good run in to the final. Esp if they do it at Blackpool.

Ore is just so unlikeable for me. He reminds me of Matt Baker when he did Strictly - loverly dancer but both wet and likely to flip his lid if he hears something he doesn't like / agree with.

I was really pleased when Ore was announced. I like him on Breakfast tele and he's easy on the eye. Then you realise that given free rein, he's a bit of a lovvie and it all gets a bit meh. I started to like him a smidge at the judging last night because he looked so totally bemused by what he was hearing - he knew what he had just done didn't mesh with the comments. Then somewhere between the judges and Claude he rallied and turned into a Grayson/Mark Wright cross and that's it - lost me for good.

Just caught up.

Well, that was a bit of a disappointment.

Ironically, my favourite dance of the night was Daisy's, and probably because it was a bit quirky, and not as bland and forgettable as some of the others.

Oksana and Oti and Goddess Nat really are fabulous.

Agree with some of you that the whole Ore storyline is starting to grate and I think it could backfire on him.

I genuinely think the height difference is too much for Cloudier to win. In fairness to AJ, he had her doing a really impressive topline one week, even with the height difference, but the judges (mostly Craig, I think) complained. They're just never going to look good in hold, though perhaps could get a good AS - and that's due to the lifts.

I actually think the fuss over Ore's jive last week, waltz this week is playing to Danny more, especially now a personality is starting to creep out. Looking in different places, many were remaking that Ore's jive wasn't the best dance of that night. If TPTB keep this up, he'll get an undermarked theme which never hurts. I had hoped at the beginning Greg would be the one who would sneak up from behind, but when even Nat is resorting to starfish, there's not much hope there.

They do seem like they are flailing around for a storyline - when all the actual storylines are happening behind the scenes,

Louise has had the baggy frock to leotard one which just fizzled out and now she's just in ordinary dresses, so has to skip onto plan b ... plateaued and needs pizzazz ready for a breakthrough what? Kevin Kwikstep set in the 1950's the story of which will be a man taking a dog for a walk while the woman does the dishes?

What she needs is either a non-Kevin-choreo'd dance, or for him to be given a bizarre music choice*, just to shake it up. I was remarking to friends last night that Aljaz, when given a nice leggy partner, churns out very similar dances. It's only when given random music, or outside choreo, or a different type of partner that he surprises. Last night was a good example - outside choreo, and suddenly it's not following his formula of "nice week one waltz, couple of weeks of ropey Latin" etc that we're now seeing for the third time with him.

I did like that Charleston last night. I know it was very exposing that they weren't totally in sync, and she flagged a bit, but I found it all very old school, very charming and delightfully non-gurny. Sadly, judging by the MF, that may be a minority opinion.

*bizarre music choice does not mean hip-hop samba again, if TPTB are reading.

I agree with almost everything - except I thought Danny and Daisy's rumba were quite good.

I also think Ore was over marked. I also would like to see the BBC rules published.

I have rewatched some dances and overall, loved Anastasia QS and Danny's rumba is actually quite good.
And I am starting to think Kevin is the better Clifton as choreographer. I don't think Joanne is particularly good other than trying too much but loosing flow and unity.

The over extension of of her neck in some moves, just highlighted how short Ore's looked in comparison. Too much two people dancing at the same time, rather than two people dancing as one.

i think you are spot on. I do like Ore, but the routines (other than their AS singing in the rain) leave me coldish in terms of partnership dancing. Not sure if it's the choreography or their lack of on the floor chemistry. Because I do think they do have chemistry of the floor, but dancing... not sure. I always feel Ore is dancing for the cameras, not for/with Joanne.

I do feel sorry for Clouida. Other than draft someone in from the juniors, they well always going to be stymied by her height. I think they did the best they could with AJ, but even so it's always going to be a struggle.

I keep remembering what Natalie said on ITT about Greg's run of dances and how nothing flowed so he was having to learn a new technique every week. If he stays in, sooner or later - possibly sooner now - he's going to have to start doing dances where he's able to use some of the previous stuff, which could send him off on his journey arc.

I didn't mind Daisy's Charleston at all. I just thought it very exposing, especially in a week when the Titivating Up Elves had free rein to make the leggy model look like a bag lady.

I was excited when Ore was announced for the very same reasons, and surprised myself by finding he was my favourite going into the competition, even over Will who I thought I would favour. Whilst Ore's not quite dead to me <does slashing motion across neck with hand> yet, that's more a triumph of hope over experience. Gah, he's becoming a hard bloke to like.

Danny has definitely, and much to my surprise, become my favourite. I started off thinking he had the personality of a cardboard box and the "me nehrves" schtick grated no end, but as you say, a personality is starting to emerge and there's always Oti.

He is starting to grow on me too, not another Mark Wright! but I am one of the few who doesn't like Oti. I think she is beautiful to watch but every time I see her on ITT I just really don't like her. Sorry!

I think Danny has realised that Oti isn't actually going to kill him - at least not until she has her hands on the glitterball, so he's safe for at least 2 months, possibly more if there's the tour glitterball to aim for - so he can relax a bit.

She'll let him live if they win. He might have to put in plans to emigrate on the night of the final if they fail though!

Yeah, he'll have to join the same Celeb Protection Programme as DvO and Grayson when they let down their over invested pros
