I agree. Hoping Cloudier will sneak through for the win, but suspect the judges would favour Twimsy's bland "lyricism" over the pocket rockets. Would love a Jore/ Twimsy face off for the inevitable sibling meltdown. All that would be left: a Disney princess crown and a battered trilby.

As with every other year, so what? He's not claiming to have only sat on a chair. His pro has turned out a marvellous run of choreography, which he has mostly carried out with aplomb. He's not a trained dancer who can only do one half of the dances on the curriculum. I'm here for the dancing, not the duffers, so *blows raspberry*

Danny is definitely growing on me. He has a good sense of humour re his role as Oti's triumphant vessel to the Glitter ball, and I like their grown up, respectful professional relationship - a brisk pat on the knee on the ITT sofa, a lot of humour, and very little cloying cuddling or faux "best mates" bolleaux. I didn't expect to like him, as had him down as a dull, pretty boy, and probably wouldn't want to go on the lash wth him (or him with me) but I would prefer him to win over Twimsy or Jore. (Cloudier would be even better).

According to Daisy on Chris Evans' show this morning, Danny is always one of the ones up for a night out after Strictly has finished. Oddly, MimsyLouise wasn't mentioned in this conversation - I guess she has to get home for her cocoa.

I think a lot hinges on how Laura/Anastacia/Daisy vs Rinder/Greg/Ed goes. The likable but unloveable decent ladies vs the utterly hopeless but endearing underdog men is going to be the elimination story for the next month barring something very odd happening. It depends how much help the show wants to give the former in maybe outlasting some of the latter (like the week last year when popular Jay, Katie and Anita were all suddenly low on the leaderboard at the same time, leading to Jeremy finally getting the elbow), or if they're happy to allow them to get bumped off one by one. If the latter set triumph there might not be enough series left to clear them all out in time to stop one of them or Cloudia squeaking into the very end. (It occurs to me that Danny having a mediocre foxtrot might be a good opportunity to try to elbow out one of the above three guys by lowballing him and setting off a round of panic voting, and I eagerly await the squealing on here if they try it)

I think whoever gets the unrecognisable-due-to-makeup routine is one of the hard draws at Hallowe'en. Thingy-danced-with-Ola in the skull makeup, Jay last year. Worked to further the story line about Jay not emoting, and if you're unrecognisable, hard to get votes. But that's slightly aside from odd themes though...
I think it's the other way around - people vote for big costumes and make-up jobs and stunts, and if you're just going out in a "spooky" variation of normal ballroom attire you're in trouble. If you look at the people in the Bottom 2 at Hallowe'en, I'd say only Rachel and Scott had a big make-up & costume job (and Scott looked effing stupid every single week, Hallowe'en or not, and it never hurt him before). Nancy I think was actually wearing less make-up than usual

Low balling Danny this week might be a smart move to flush Ed. From training footage he does not look likely to overcome the cha cha curse, and the last couple of weeks he has been anxiously rather than triumphantly and confidently inept, at which point he loses his comedic status and simply becomes painful to watch....

Heh, shows how much I remember... I would have said big costumes (as long as they don't get in the way), but I specifically remembered those two where the the big makeup job was an impediment. The fact that I couldn't place Rachel probably helps your point of them being memorable though...

although I should point out, I didn't/don't fancy either Jay or Ed, just enjoy watching them dance for quite radically different reasons but both of them exude emotion.

Also this ^^ His off screen persona is starting to liven up a bit, probably as he's got more relaxed and I love how he's always one of the most actively encouraging clebs up in Claud Nine jumping and cheering for the other couples when they finish a routine (and usually with his back to the camera so he doesn't know he's being filmed, just to get that out of the way for the cynics who'll say it's all artfully designed).
I agree and at least he admits to working hard and wanting to be the best he can be. I'm seriously unappreciating so many celebs on ITT going on and on and on about how much fun they're having. From now on the fun word should go into the same bin as the journey one
