She said: "I love Darcey, I love them all. I've been a judge for 15 years so it's not something I'd be in fear of. I'm told everyone loves me and I didn't realise it until recently.

Really ? I dint know I loved her either so that makes two of us who were in the dark until now .

I dont unappreciate much but do like a pop in now and then and will gladly unappreciate the awful Russel Grant at any given opportunity . Dreadful , self absorbed man ..........
Wonder why he refused to mention Ed Balls. Just made him look coy and sillier than usual.

I am guessing Ed Balls could wipe the floor with Mr R Grant , he seems to lack any sort of intelligence or even cop on .

"he's just emotional, has ants in his pants, thinks he's Andrew McCarthy in any 80s teen angst film".....
Well, apart from the fact that Andrew McCarthy was cool, tall, not ugly, not irritating, not annoying, could wear a hat without looking stupid, could act without overacting .... apart from all those things, the resemblence is staggering.

So we have Brenda who thinks he's in all the 1980s soft rock videos as well as being Johnny Castle, TTF who thinks he's Andrew McCarthy, Louise who thinks she's a 1950s housewife, Ed who thinks he can really dance and Jwann who thinks she's Marilyn Monroe crossed with Paula Abdul. They're all deluded.

I loved Andrew McCarthy in the 80s. I'm embarrassed to admit how many times I watched that awful film Mannequin, just cos he was in it.

Sigh oh Andrew McCarthy, how you ruled* my teenage years

*Note: When I wasn't drooling over my number one crush John Cusack, or Matt Dillon, or Judd Nelson's eyes or Erik Stoltz's amazing red hair.

Don't worry Mimi, you're not the only one, although I love Mannequin, it's a cool idea and had the brilliant Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now as the theme song.

True😁. Somewhat unfair to Andrew. Perhaps Nick Kershaw is a better comparison....height and bouffant wise. Now who's going to own up to that crush???

I've been left in the dark too.

If KH became a judge, I have watched my last Strictly this year, unless Richard Armitage, Idria Elba, Mark Harmon and all four Musketeers were announced as the male celeb line up for next year.

Oh dear lord, no!!!!! Make it go away...... The show would overrun by hours as she had to demonstrate the correct technique for every missed step, referenced by when she and Mark did it. Much amused by the image of bounteous emails continually "coming in", akin to the Armada coming into harbour with a galleon full of gold.... or in this case a crock of sh*t..

Me too, Some Kind of Wonderful is one of my all time favourite films but I first fell in love with him in Mask. Cher and Sam Elliot too, one hell of a film.

I've been left in the dark too.

I'm guessing an intellectually challenged amoeba could wipe the floor with Mr R Grant.

I do appreciate the mentions of Andrew McCarthy. For some reason, my friends were not with me on that little crush. I still have no idea why not.

Because they were visually challenged?! How could anyone not fall for this face?!

And to stay vaguely on track, the dancing was interesting too!

Oh gawd, yes please

Reverting to the Andrew McCarthy thing; he was cute, but then again - Rob Lowe.

I never fancied Rob Lowe when I was a teenager but by the time he was in The West Wing I appreciated him much more

And then there was Jake Ryan (Michael Schoeffling) in Sixteen Candles (sigh. . . )

Since I've always claimed Try a Little Tenderness as MY Showdance music, I would like to point out that my dance to this would be vastly superior.
But my hair would match his...

Andrew McC was the nice boy you would bring home to meet your parents.
Rob Lowe was your dirty secret boy that you kept well hidden

Fair enough.

I was still trying to be a good Catholic then (well - trying to project the outward veneer of being one at any rate) and Andrew McCarthy represented the perfect compromise. I spent a fair time searching for a real life equivalent. I'm still searching.

To find your Prince, you have to kiss a lot of frogs.

And Voila! We're back on subject...

But the whole idea of frog kissing is that by doing so, the frog will turn into a Prince. Whereas with TTF all you get is a frog.
