Just a random unappreciation of Monica Galetti's beached blonde 'do'.
Obligatory appreciation of MyMarcus.

Yeah caught up now.

Wasn't that enamoured with Danny's Jive, great choreo bit don't think he looked as good doing it as Ore but I'm sure his technique was probably better. Dunno found it a bit cheesy. (Maybe I have unrealistic expectations of the Jive being effortlessly cool now or maybe it's because all Otis choreo has been uber cool and this wasn't?)

Louise's dance was brilliant choreographically but didn't think she was worth 39. I'd have loved to see that dance with one of the pro girls doing it.

The standouts for me were Judge Rinder and Claudia. That Paso to pretty much any other song ever would have been amazing.

Laura wasn't the hot mess I was expecting from comments here on DS

Do you know what annoys me most about TTF? That at the start he actually stands still and counts Louise in so that he can do his stupid little kick. Someone on here mentioned it and ever since it's made my teeth itch!

I do kinda like the way that Louise is obviously humouring TTF Santiago for the vast majority of the time and treats him like an 11 year old nephew.

Yeah, I don't get the comments of "effortless" about Danny's jive--he looked like he was working hard and not much joy in it either.

The strange thing is that you couldn't see her face for most of the dance (just watch it again!).
Maybe she's a shapeshifter???????????????????

I don't think I can watch it a third time.

Welcome to the club...
Thank you very much - Greg's dance excited me more tonight and he's my fave this year and the only reason I'm watching SCD at all this year

Well yes, he was working hard but he never looked like he was struggling. He seemed very natural at it and every shift to a different position looked excellent.

Certainly had a sweat on when they had finished.

Even Gene Kelly worked up a sweat. I think you'd have to be inhuman or botoxed up not to work up a sweat when you're doing so much in 2 minutes.

Best dance of the series so far for me.

So have watched it again and the side-by-side bit is very good. It's the first part where his upper body seems so tense and he's jutting out his chin and has a grim look on his face that gives me the impression that it's hard work and not a fun dance.

On a shallow and mean-spirited note, I also just don't care for his strange proportions (big head to small shoulders/chest).

Watching the jive I felt Oti only bothered to choreograph half a routine to be honest. There was a load of flash in the second half but the first bit just felt like a lot of stomping about. Danny did it well (although I can see how it might look effortful) but it took a while to really get going. Maybe she was trying to build up to a big finish idk.

I think the half remembered routine from last week cast a long shadow. I think it was probably a bit pruned from how it started out.

Popping in late and I must say deeply and ever so tooth achingly unappreciating the music and singing. The song choice was dire and then a couple of the singers murdered those songs.

It was awful tonight so much so that Laura, Cloudier and Loiuse were not dancing to music, they were dancing or making shapes in the foreground and music was playing in the background but neither bore any realationship to each other.

I can appreciate Loiuse made some better than nice shapes, some were very good, but it really wasn't a dance just a series of shapes. Most certainly not an AT.
It really didn't flow at all, and cold and sterile. Nice

Cloudier poor girl no one could dance to that " music" but she seemed too fluid some how, no crispness to her to her lines, probably the music, but again as a paso it wasn't right.

Loved JR and Ed clever Oksana and Katya, they are both teaching the comedy contestants and both are a joy to watch. Loiuse would do well to watch JR I don't want her to gasp like a goldfish, I don't want him to either, but he just exudes joy when he dances ,it makes him happy and so it makes me happy. Ed also has "it" but JR more so.

Danni does too and I think in the early weeks he was crippled emotionally by nerves. I really enjoyed that jive and so did Oti, Also Greg and to some extant Daisy. I enjoy watching them dance, I connect with them in a way I haven't ever with Louise so I think that's why I always think she is overmarked as I think performance is just as important as steps.

Ore, no ! It's just too manufactured, Jo and he are on the dance floor at the same time but they really rarely dance together. I don't enjoy them.

Laura ungainly, it just was meh!

Laura and Ore bottom 2 for me please and either could go.

Danni should have topped the leader board with that dance the under appreciation of the judges is irritating, if he is out tonight I will Stomp about. A lot.

I wonder if he was still a bit hurt from last week not being as good as he wanted it to be. Once he started jiving he probably got really into it and the tension went, I think.

That dance last week seemed to knock his confidence a bit, especially as Ore cocked up more obviously but got better marks. That would upset anyone, I think.

Very pished off with the favoritisim for Louise and the little pet

If that was passion comming from Lou lou I feel sorry for Jamie as I have seen more passion comming from a wet flannel than she showed

her face was just blank no facial expression at all and her movements were just that movements with no passion or feeling at all

it was dancing by numbers

so overmarked, even our lad said it wasnt worth the marks or the overpraising she got

Im just pleased I was proved right when I said it would be highly praised and overmarked even before we saw any practice heard what music or saw her costume

I absolutely agree with you about Louise's AT - it was cold, sterile and there was zero chemistry between her and TTF - the judges overmarked her way too much tonight

I'm just amazed at how they managed to make the AT so sexless. I mean, it's inherently sexy and that just... wasn't.

It says something when Lesley and Anton would have done a more passionate dance! Even Ed and Oksana could've made it a bit more sexy than Louise and TTF.

To be fair I thought some of the shapes she made were very good indeed, but it was a series of shapes, not a dance, and it bore no relationship to the music.

But the music was far too fast for an AT,

Despite what Len tells us AT isn't anything about ladies of the night and sex.

An AT can be sexy, but mostly it's intimate, it's danced in a crowded dance floor, the big showy lifts are a show AT style, I don't object to them.

But there was no basic, no languid walks caressing the floor, no intimacy.

It wasn't really a dance, it was shapes by numbers, it really wasn't an AT.

Relieved that really was as good as I thought it was!
Oh dear. I fear I may be in a minority of one when I say I thought that parts of Danny's jive looked rather leaden. I'm sick of seeing him dance so much "on" the floor and not making the most use of it. He also looked a bit inhibited to me, probably because of his boo boo last week, so I imagine that will be gone next week.

Don't get me wrong - excellent dance, but would only have given it a 9. I'm suffering from wuzrobbed between Danny and himself because he should have got 10s for his QS, not this.
