I just watched Danny & Oti again.
Why weren't the judges saying that jive was as good as Jay's and Jill's etc?
I enjoyed it as much.

Danny even had Cary Grant trousers on - and he looked just as good in 'em.

And i still think he's as good a dancer as Gene Kelly.

And he'd be a sure fire hit as Danny Zuko.
For once they didn't labour the point. I am glad they got 10s. He was so excited! Please not Danny Zuko! A new role for him in the West End. Jay has got the lead in a new musical - Big the Musical and has smashed the first night!

Brendan's there currently trying work out how to get his Segway to work on sand (with rolled up sleeves)
Genius!

TTF stands behind Daisy's fruit & veg stall, except it's now selling wet fish. He's wearing a yellow rain poncho and a sou'wester. Louise strolls by in a nice tweed coat and brogues, carrying a shopping basket. She looks at TTF's stall, eyeing up his mackerel. She moves on, he rushes out of the stall and grabs her arm 'what about my haddock instead?' and tries to force a fillet on her. She pushes it back, he pushes it forward. She turns away, he pivots round her. He grabs her and sniffs her hair. She smacks him with her basket and stomps off. Bruno goes into meltdown and grabs Len's 10 paddle so he can jold up two 10s. He is overcome with the raw unbridled passion. Darcey's nodded off and Len's muttering about pickled herring. Craig gives an in-depth critque of how much harder she could have hit him if she had kept her arm straight.
POTD!

You know what really annoys me the necessity this show seems to have of making a comparison between Ore and Danni.

Danni is something special, I have never minded the ringers because occasionally they do something so gorgeous like Dannis quickstep, a Jays jive, Kara's tango, DVO charleston.

I think he should absolutely be on the show and allow Oti to choreograph great and exciting routines, let's see some lovely dancing and celebrate it.

Instead of which they have decided Oreis competition for him ,which he really isn't and so mark Danni down and Ore up which is only causing ill feeling.

I personally don't like the style of Ore. I think it's because I am not liking Jo's very busy choreography.

There you are case in point, Danni's jive was packed with content, splits, turns, kicks and flicks, but it didn't look busy. Because he can do it.

Ore CAN do it, but it looks busy because he us being pushed beyond what he can do well.

Stop it TPTB it's not a competition between those two and to make it so undervalues Danni and the over marking of Ore make him look worse than he is. H

Exactly right.

However, the voting public know when they are getting a contestant forced at them and they don't like it.
Ore will suffer in the public vote if that continues.

Let the competition evolve naturally - if that means Greg or Rob or even Ed is the rival to Danny, then so be it. If it means Cloudier is top lady then that's what she is.

Giving Louise a breakthrough of the week or pimping Ore as the saviour of dance just makes people shrug and say, nah. Don't think so.

I was really excited about Ore taking part. Even when he was partnered with Jwann I looked on the bright side and anticipated some sumptuous ballroom. But I REALLY DON'T LIKE HER CHOREOGRAPHY.

She doesn't seem capable of creating a dance which works as a whole; they always seem like a poor collage to me - like she creates a whole series of short sequences and then sticks them together any old how. Even the AS I thought was disjointed, with complete breaks where Ore just impersonated the iconic Gene Kelly moves. I preferred Anton's Couple of Swells QS choreography, was much more subtle but still referenced an iconic musical number, yet managed to do so as part of a whole (and I never thought I'd say that!).

I don't know why they feel that they have to manipulate the public - it has never worked so far and the more series there are the more savvy the public get to it.

Louise is so safe in her approach to it she will never win - the public just won't warm to her because she doesn't come across as natural and genuine.

I'm pleased Claudia is the best female in the competition. She looks like she loves it and is going for it because of that.

Cannot appreciate Natalie when she gets super competitive. Think she comes across better with no hopers.

Starting to think Danny could come out and get 40 and people would claim he was undermarked...

We need to add a Donny Ten. He doesn't even need to be here for that - it's his standard mark.

I've said it every week and I shall continue to say it.

I don't give a stuff what arse the judges are trying to peddle. Anyone with half an eye can see that Danny is bloody parsecs ahead of the rest of the competition dance wise. Nobody else is even in the same galaxy. He's not the most scintillating of guys but bloody hell, on the dance floor - he's good.

Judges - eff off with your Ores and Louises. You can overmark them from now until Christmas (assuming you get the chance) and it won't change what I see on my screen.

It was - Louizzzzz is very slender but it made her look curiously tubby about the tummy area.

Jwann always seems to show herself off rather than her partner. She never looks to see where he is, she just tarts about going 'me me me' and leaves her partner to do whatever behind her.

Louise is so safe in her approach to it she will never win - the public just won't warm to her because she doesn't come across as natural and genuine.
There's nothing to warm to. She shows no personality, no spark, nothing. She's one of those pretty girls who have never had to do anything but stand there and be pretty.

For me it was genuinely baffling, how you could not see her face for 75% of the dance (either she had her back turned to the camera or her hair was covering it). It almost distracted me enough from that limp AT. Genuinely thought it would get savaged by the judges, but when Craig spoke his first words I knew where this was going and flicked the channel.

Will be interesting to see sofakat's delayed reaction to it.

It does seem to have convinced many people that it was a great dance, so it did work I guess for TPTB (probably switching back to another Clifton in their tactic?).

Actually it the people behind him that are not being marked to the same standard that is the problem.

That jive was really good, then you get others overmarked for something that isn't so good and will be forgotten about before next week, and they get higher marks.

Actually I was just struggling to remember what dance Cloudierdid, I don't even know where she was on the leader board, behind or above him, I could remember she was in a putrid shade of pink and then I remembered I didn't think she was crisp enough, THEN I got AJ in a paso jacket.

She dances really well, I liked last weeks a lot, this week she missed the mark for me, but if I can't even remember her dance the next morning it's not going to be remembered as a great dance in years to come.

He went to Buenos Aires. Instead of picking up a donkey, he picked up a Louise.

Was that Benchy in Greg and Natalie's dance?
He put on a lot of weight
