Suggestions for amending posting behaviour that doesn't necessarily occur here - not so much.
I say this because when people ask (however politely) for things to happen in here that i don't think we're culpable of, I tend to want to go berserk doing whatever stuff that poster wanted to not happen. And that's not pretty.
(I could give an extreme example now. But nobody wants to see that)

For future reference, unappreciating opinions, posters, other threads and "the forum in general" isn't really relevant in this thread. This is about unappreciating the show - dancers, celebs, outfits, dances, music - and appreciation does happen too. We've had our wrists slapped in the past and do try to police ourselves. To complain about opinions, posters and other threads, you should keep that to where you encounter opinions/posters etc.
If you want to complain about another thread or other posters just pretend it's something you're seeing on facebook and twitt...I mean yes, no, definitely, no slagging off other DS posters within these walls.

Well, there's a few posts bitching about elsewhere on this page alone, I just replied to the first one I encountered. It does apply to the others, just can't be bothered to repeat myself (more than usual). I can remember the thread being closed and so try to keep my unappreciation to strictly SCD-related things - or wholly unrelated. Watching the show last night without being able to post along here at the same time makes me appreciate this thread and not want any modly intervention - though a new incarnation would be lovely.
Unappreciating the fact that AJ doesnt get enough credit IMO. I admit I was a bit ambivalent towards him at the beginning but over the past few weeks, i have warmed up to him and Claudia. That PASO he choreographed last weekend was AMAZING; full of content and yes I do think that they were slightly undermarked in comparison to the other couples. He has to deal with inappropriate music for quite a few of his and Claudia routines and YET he manages to rise to the challenge each and every time. He deserves a little more credit.
I hope that he makes the finale with Claudia. I would rather see them there than Louise but unfortunately I feel like Louise might be a dead cert for the finale at this point.

I think I seriously need to unappreciate self. The trailering of next weeks 'comedy' dance in the results show, coupled with the seeming rota of 'playing it straight in the ballroom, komedying up the latin' is giving me BoD flashbacks - and nobody needs those

It was your mentioning BOD and those flashbacks that did it. Up till then he was my favorite judge, I felt he was firm but fair , then BOD happened, he was obsessed.
I changed my allegiance to Bruno, we gelled, went along nicely, compatible in our views for a several years.
Then Bruno got a fixation with Laura, but worst of all Craig started being slightly reasonable again.
Look I can cope with Bruno's weird fixations and when he falls off his chair it's funny when you are a Bruno fan, I take another sip of wine and laugh along.
But Craig, why do you want to start being ok again just as Bruno is being weird. Now I may have to join you on your side of the table and be worried about thumbs. Though pleased you blotted your copy book about figure of 8 hips and pike positions.
Come on Bruno get you act together, I wanna hang out on your bit of the table, not with Craig and his incessant tea drinking.

What did I think of it?
Leaden, clumsy, awkward, squirm inducing and totally lacking any recognisable AT steps. Nothing was asctually led. TTF just dragged her about: he wasn't even in AT hold ffs!Let's get one thing straight, AT is not about steamy passion, grubby dance halls or sweaty men. It never has been. This is an ignorant, uninformed and tacky SD myth.
Ganchos? Que? None were led. She seemed to do a very bad half version of them at random, and what she did was so ugly. Her feet left the floor continuously and were splayed throughout. I didn't see any ochos, or anything like a real ocho, or a genuine secada or giro. They did not walk once - and that is the key to AT and the 'connection'
And as for passion (we prefer to say connection/feeling) well I have no clue where mimsy was, it might have Magaluff or Tesco, but she wasn't there.
Then I found out who choreographed that monstrosity - not even a proper, professional AT couple? Jeez. Well, it showed! What a load of old merde.
What the hell did I expect? Nothing much.
Oti and Danny next. Thank the lord. I pray she gets AT pros in to help, but I am absolutely sure Oti's interpretation of an AT will be a darn sight better.
And now I have to run off and have my AT weekly 121 session with my AT teacher. Yes, even after years of learning and dancing, AT addicts still do classes.

I've pretty much given up coming on DS but still lurk on here occasionally - just wanted to say thank you Sofakat for posting that link, it was beautiful to watch.
Can I ask a question? Is a routine like that completely choreographed step by step or does the man lead the steps and the flourishes are improvised as they go along?

This is tango created for an audience, so sometimes the couple will choreograph it, and sometimes it is improvised. Sometimes it is a mixture of the two - but they will tell you that even if they dance it over and over no two performances will be the same. We often add the unexpected. It depends on how we feel that day/night, what sort of mood we are in and the playfullness of the relationship.
AT is an improvised dance. You will never know what your lead will ask of you. You simply have to follow him and be guided utterly by his lead. You can add your own bits though. Any good lead will expect you to. There are hundreds of moves in AT and no sequences!
