Thank you. It must take a lot of skill and hard work to be able do it properly, I'm a little bit in awe of you and the others on here who dance AT.

I think what surprised me most is that it's seamless and fluid, the whole dance flows and the connection between the partners sizzles.. So unlike the stop, start, kick and general jerkiness you see on the majority of SCD versions

There hasn't been a reasonable AT since Vincent and Flavia left!

It does that was one of the main things wrong with TTF and Louise, it was a sequence of poses not linked by anything. That's what stopped it being a dance of any sort.

You shouldn't just do random poses for 90 seconds and call it a dance.

Let alone receive praise for it.

Colin Salmon did one of the most ridiculous AT ever with Kristina on a table, because well height problems!

But even with tables, imaginary guns, Kristina spending a lot of her time with her Ho Har in his face, it STILL flowed, from one movement to the next.

Thinking of which, and setting aside the Greek AT because we all no how well that went, I think Danni is going to be given another James Bond themed AT.

They won't be able to help it, Loiuse had traditional, but not for an AT music and styling, so Danni will get something very different.

I'm dreading Jwann's attempt. No doubt there will be an unhealthy (and unnecessary) emphasis on her gusset again while Ore stomps about a bit looking decorative but a bit bewildered

I'm way too ignorant about AT to comment sensibly (the only time I saw something that appeared to my non-discerning eyes to be genuinely AT like was the Vince/Rachbot AT, but he did have something of an advantage there in knowing enough about the dance to be able to choreograph and dance it himself). Anyway, the main thing that struck me was how tightly Kev was holding on to Louise. So much so that It seemed he was actually inhibiting her freedom of movement.

But I loved that last lift thingy off the table. It's the one and only time I've seen TTF actually use a prop to further the dance. Probably those of you who know their stuff will tell me it was inappropriate to an AT, but I thought it was a beautifully choreographed move and executed very smoothly.

It is nice also to see sacks are a thing of the past. You'd never have got her into that costume at the beginning of the competition.

But it was minimal - used just to execute one move that took a couple of seconds. And it was a move that couldn't have been performed without a table (as opposed to just jumping on it to dance things that could equally well have been danced on the floor). They did not dance on or around it, sit on it, move it around the room, or any one of a million uses Kevin normally thinks add somehow to a dance routine.

TT - I've seen something similar recently - it might have been in Vincent and Flavia's latest show, but I can't be sure that was where.

What did I think of it? Leaden, clumsy, awkward, squirm inducing and totally lacking any recognisable AT steps. Nothing was asctually led. TTF just dragged her about: he wasn't even in AT hold ffs!
That's what I've been waiting for! I take it you didn't approve then?

Even more astonishing that she got to be a world champion when she only knows how to do one dance.

Those Cliftons must have nobbled the judges...

Olé!!!

I don't imagine the move was original. If Vince and Flavia do it, so much the better!

ETA Forgot to thank sofakat for her tantrum. I'd been looking forward to it!

The judges seem to only approve of ATs that are more Danse Apache.

I had erased the sheer horror of Zorba the Gaucho from my memory.

I have just revisited it and laughed so much I scared the cat off my lap

Ah yes, the infamous Greek AT for Round the World week.

If only the Argentinian Tango had originated from another country in the first place.

After watching that I can understand that it must cause you real pain to watch the Strictly travesties
Yes, thank you I know I sound like a grumpy old cow, but I hate to see an amazing form of dance massacred!

Who did choreograph it?
Someone called Flint and some other English ballroom person - a woman.

Thank you sofakat for the critique and the link - that's beautiful.
You're welcome Adeli. Happy that you liked it.

It was breathtaking
They are fab, aren't they?

That was mesmerising, Sofs.
xxxx

It is hard, probably the hardest dance I have ever studied, and I have been dancing for more than 20 years. It has driven me to despair sometimes. I have to thank my teachers (all Argentinian) and my favourite leads though. I never stop learning in AT.

I don't imagine the move was original. If Vince and Flavia do it, so much the better!

Unappreciating the return of La Hardy on ITT. Would much rather Chloe carried on taking it to a whole nother level.
