Same here. Karen is all about Karen. It's grating!

The sad thing is that AT would suit him, but she won't have a bloody clue how to dance it or choreograph it.

Dr Hammy . Please not Gorka, it would probably scare him off the show for good and I would like to see what he could do with a ringha next year.

AT is an improvised dance. You will never know what your lead will ask of you. You simply have to follow him and be guided utterly by his lead. You can add your own bits though. Any good lead will expect you to. There are hundreds of moves in AT and no sequences!”

And sometimes you misinterpret his lead and give him a surprise!

It's still astonishing that so many people were fooled by that AT last weekend (not counting the judges, because LOL).

My only dance experience comes from watching Strictly on the telly and I could clearly see that was not a very good AT. On that basis, most Strictly AT's should have gotten tens.

And the table bit, well we have already seen chairs been used (Holly, SEB; not counting DVO, as this is not Chicago) so hardly a stretch.

I'm rampaging round the board trying to whip up support for Dr Hamela to be paired with AJ. For no other reason than it amuses me. They could dance a QS to "Mrs Robinson" from The Graduate.

With him as Mrs Robinson and following - I would pay to see that.

Part of me wants that as well, the deeply evil part, which is currently cackling madly at the thought of it

No, that's not going to happen.

She will probably be partnered with Anton, despite the fact that "he's a bit young for her."

Oh gawd, Dr Hammy and Gleb I don't think the Strictly floor could take it (never mind my poor eyes )

Must be hell for the men to learn too. As a beginner, you have no more idea how to give a lead than to lay an egg.

Let's get one thing straight, AT is not about steamy passion, grubby dance halls or sweaty men. It never has been. This is an ignorant, uninformed and tacky SD myth.

Ganchos? Que? None were led. She seemed to do a very bad half version of them at random, and what she did was so ugly. Her feet left the floor continuously and were splayed throughout. I didn't see any ochos, or anything like a real ocho, or a genuine secada or giro. They did not walk once - and that is the key to AT and the 'connection'

And as for passion (we prefer to say connection/feeling) well I have no clue where mimsy was, it might have Magaluff or Tesco, but she wasn't there.

Then I found out who choreographed that monstrosity - not even a proper, professional AT couple? Jeez. Well, it showed! What a load of old merde.

I'll leave you with this. Not that we will ever see the like on SCD!”

Please can I nominate sofakat to replace Len when he leaves, judges comments will be worth listening to and the rants will be magnificent.

Could also replace Karen on ITT, worth it for the responses to Zoe's 'how amazing was that' gushing.

I'll send Jwann this then shall I?

I bet this is where Len got his AT definition from - going to the cinema as a lad in his shorts and flat cap, having paid two empty jam jars to get in.

(Actually this may be a clip from SCD a few seasons ago - I'm sure the camera pans round to Len and Darcey sitting at the judging table early on in the clip, then Craig wanders past Rudolph and his 'lady of the night' on the way to the bar while Bruno contemplates the goldfish in his wine

I did too and that wasn't Rudolph Valentino and Beatrice Dominguez, it was Donnie Burns and Gaynor Fairweather.

I have a CD with some fab AT tracks from around the world. It's possible, but they're not well known so they couldn't be arsed.

Either that or she gets NewNeil and their festive VW becomes a wrestling match for the camera.

Just playing catch up.

That AT clip was a revelation. You'd never know from SCD that that was what the dance was supposed to be like. I now consider myself better informed and grimly aware that we will never see anything remotely like this. Well, of course we won't, given the amount of time they have to learn things, but it's nice to have a benchmark of what should be there.

That said, I still enjoyed Louise's dance MUCH more than I expected to, so that's a plus. I'd pretty much given up after "I'm looking for the hand sanitiser" Harley Quinn.

Karen Hardy ... Choreography for the mentally deficient with added hand gestures for the sight-challenged. You may never get any useful information from her, but she has a great career directing traffic if ITT ever dries up.

Just watched the AT posted by sofakat and realised we have not seen a proper AT since Flavia & Vincent left, it was exquisite, and so intricate! Not showy and flashy Also whoever was recording it put the camerawork at Strictly to shame. You could see the whole dance!!

Loved the AT clips, thank you.

Karen, sorry but I find her very distracting. Found the weeks she was in NZ much more entertaining. Fingers crossed she is not lined up to take over from Len.

You know, once Jo had got over the Rose tiara and sparkly wellie phase last year, I learnt much more from her than Karen Hardy, she was informative without being condescending and explained things a lot better.
