There are no backing dancers or at least the footage we saw was of Jay, Kellie, Georgia and Helen .. so they must be doing a dance together with some hats. Unless there was another piece of footage?

Monoagg - I'm sure you're right, and I'm just clutching at straws but you don't mean the behind the scenes video do you? Because I think that bit of Jay rehearsing with others is for the group 'That's Entertainment' number, because he's got a bowler hat. But you probably don't, as everyone else clearly does have backing dancers.

Two dancers with hats in the background following Aliona & Jay's movements so hopefully the group number.

That's Helen and Georgia I'm fairly sure, so I think it's the group dance, rather then the rumba

So Jay and Aliona are going to be rumba-ing tenderly in the foreground while a posse of backing dancers wield Hoovers behind them dressed like Freddie Mercury in drag a la I Want To Break Free.

Just in my head then?
Or the big Bob Fosse version?

It's Helen .. not Aliona!

Also Kellie and Georgia.

Since everyone else seems to have backing dancers, I guess Jay and Aliona will have them too

Not necessarily but if they do they might just be background and not dancing .. with any luck.

Think it was the thing Janette was teaching Zoe & wardrobe yesterday with the bowler hats

Think the pros will do the majority & celebs will do the little bit we saw.

Kristina and Simon had backing dancers for their waltz, but they had clearly been given strict instructions from Kristina NOT to move from behind their balustrade!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTQmPa_EWyU

They disappeared before the end so I assume they must have tried to make it on to the main floor and were taken out by elite dance ninjas

You DOTs are too norty!!!
I have just spent the last hour catching up on 12 pages worth of your chat. I snorted with laughter through page 40!! I have come to the conclusion that, in fact, DOTs are far worse than blokes especially when you think you are all alone in here.

Bad girls but by God, you do make me laugh.

I have to agree -- it was really the Murray brothers v Belgium.

Good to see Kim Clijsters in the audience.,
Actually think it was andy murray v the world, minus djokovic, federer, wawrinska, and nadal!!

Except for today, I've been here every day. But just been reading and learning. A lot of what you have all discussed this week, I have no knowledge of or not really interested ie musicals etc. Rather than make a prat of myself, I just lurked and laughed.
Only today when you were discussing Latin language did I sit up. I went to a grammar run by Catholic priests so naturally Latin was high on the curriculum. I loved the subject and used to read Latin text translating as I went along for fun. The last yearly exams I took I scored 86% and was top of the class lol Only trouble I decided I was bored of school and left @ 16. My mother never forgave me. Latin wasn't a lot of use to me then.

You should get back to it, the Latin texts I mean, the thing is if you speak the basics of any of the Romance languages you should find that you may actually know more words than you did when you were young, something to do in the off season when we DOTS get on with the rest of our lives. I loved translating the texts as well, the voice from someone from so long ago having the same joys and fears, and finding the same (smutty ) things funny, is really fascinating.

Which contrary to what some outside there think we do have 😃
