Me too. She did a nice job with what she was given and with the right materials it could have been knockout.

So Twimsy have supplanted Jore as the challenger to Dotis crown?

Yes, we do often dance very fast AT. And it can be that fierce.

Some moves were very nuevo AT so some may be puzzled, but that was the best attempt at an AT since Aliona and the one Vincent did with whatsherface.

Bloody good attempt.”

Oh, that's brilliant.
I loved it - and Oti is just glorious.
Has she taken AT lessons at all?

Based on knowing nothing, overall impressions...

I adored Doti's AT. Great drama and story-telling and the dance did all the work.

Also really liked Ore's rumba and wasn't expecting to. Loved his arms. Hope he stays - he seems like such a natural even though there is now open water between him and the front runners.

Kevin does those showstoppy numbers so very well, but it did not suit Louise. She simply isn't extrovert enough and it didn't travel through the screen for me for all its virtuosity.

Think Cloudier needs a wow dance soon. She's great but she needs a charleston moment again.

Like Ed a lot but really did not enjoy that. Possibly because I loathe Gangnam Style with the burning passion of a thousand suns.

Daisy was miles better than I thought she would be and looked happy but I'm not sure it's enough to save her.

JR - charming dance which may seem him in the B2 as it was fairly forgettable.

Greg still looks uncoordinated and clonky to me, although you can't fault his efforts. Which applies to all of them.

Did not appreciate wardrobe attempting to disguise Tess as a letter box.

Ideally Greg v Ed in DO with Greg staying but suspect it will be Daisy v Ore with Daisy going.

I think she had made it her mission to study it. She is an exceptional dancer so that does not surprise me.

She was wonderful.

I can't unappreciate Louise enough now. I'm sick of her mediocrity being praised like she is Ginger Rogers reincarnated, I'm sick of being told she has improved massively and I'm sick of her being hyped up as a contender.

I'd rather watch an Ed showdance than a Twimsy one any day, it would serve the judges and producers right if we got exactly that.

I'm not an AT expert but....please can someone who,is - explain, isn't the frame for the AT supposed to be joined at the chest rather than hips?
If so, why so high marks? I like Danny and Oti - not invested in anyone this year - I'll be honest only watching as I'm sick in bed with a serious back problem and any telly is better than the week of staring at four walls I've had.
I did enjoy the dance but the frame didn't look anything like Vincent and Flavias ATs that I've seen on strictly.
Be gentle with me - I'm in a ton of pain. 🙏

They know sod all about AT and Aliona actually went to classes to learn it.

The judges still expect unbridled sex and lamposts and they are way off the mark.

I thought Aliona must have, she looks a lot more flowy like the videos you show than spiky.

(Obviously rubbish untrained eye comments)

Thanks. I think you may have clarified why I was left confused as this is what I posted immediately afterwards.

I'll have to watch it again (maybe on mute) to see if it makes more sense.

Yes, the lead comes from the chest so that connection is crucial. There are different styles of AT though - neuvo (open hold, very contemporary) Salon - distinct A frame, Milongeuro in very close hold. But you do move in and out of that when you dance certain steps.

Vincent and Flavia are great, but they do not dance authentic AT but their own version of it. Do not use them as a benchmark for AT, but as two people doing their own thing with tango.

Here is a true AT for you to watch. You will see what I mean. Danny and Oti really were very good

So sorry you are not well. Wish you better soon.

sofs, what mark would you have awarded to Danny and Oti tonight?
Just curious.

I voted for them - I loved it.
But I am only an expert in eating biscuits.

Much as I hate to appreciate anything tainted with essence of Clifton, I thought Tiny Tears did a good job tonight.

I would have given them a 9, but I would also love to see them do that to proper AT music - maybe a fusion nuevo track..

Oti did superbly well with truly shite music so I take my hat off to her. It was as brilliant as it could be with the wrong track chosen (much as I adore Marvin) and Danny's lack of experience with AT. It was very good.

Biscuits rock!

Hahhhhhaaaa! Nutter!

9 sounds good to me.
Im just re watching the show, I might mute the music when I get to Danny & Oti again.

Wasn't it Mr. Oksana who choreographed that routine?

I thought so. I also thought it was ugly, messy and frantic, lacking sensuality and proper intensity.

I unappreciated it. Seen a lot worse mind.

I see Oti's mark in most of that. Sorry, but if he was around I very much doubt he'd know half those moves or what a proper gancho was.

Oksana, on the other hand, is rather more creative.

Is there something we can do to stop these crap song choices?
A protest or something?

Nick the BBC's biscuit supply?
Something?
Anything?

I've just done that and it worked better for me, anyway.
