Went to a catholic pre-school in The Old City in Jerusalem. Then to a CofE boarding school where we had to get on our knees and pray twice a day, 4 times on Sunday, it's why I became an atheist, my knees couldn't take it any more.

what did she say? I haven't caught the last couple of ITTs.
It was more the eyerolling and imaginary tutting that went along with what she was saying. Kate Garraway was in the rehearsal studio talking to Anita and Jay and Anita was lovely with Jay said he was amazing, how they were all supportive and high fived each other but then Kate asked about her relationship with her pro, she lost her smile and seemed to search for her words very carefully. Said something along the lines of, it's like any relationship where you live in each other's pockets for so long, there are ups and downs with difficult moments but she was loving it. (sorry Anita fans if I misrepresented what she said, it was a quick 30 seconds and I only ever remember what Jay says 😳😂 ) |

I totally unappreciated the Friday panel last night. Even Sarah Hadland whom I usually quite like. It was like watching a trio of pre-programmed, cliche-ridden muppets. Mr Toss being the worst example -
Jay's face doesn't move (are you getting him confused with Gleb, dear? And has the missus been bigging him up rather a lot? ), Anita has nooooooo dance training (really - so glad you mentioned it. Are you sure she didn't dance at Tom Chambers' wedding?), Georgia's from the north and has had the highest scores, Gleb's amazing and so is his choreography (only if you're also obsessed with Gleb), Gleb and Anita have amazing chemistry (well, if you're talking in the factory sense, maybe...), Couldn't belieeeeve that Kellie was in the bottom two (well she was fifth on the leaderboard and she does have form - who else were you expecting?)... blah... blah....blahI don't think I've seen a panel so willing to toe the party line(s) in any series. Usually you get someone willing to deliver a rogue opinion but last night? Brainwashed the lot of them. Even down to - "Well Craig said..." Pfffffftttttt! Sod off the lot of you. |

Really well put Tabs. Who would imagine that a panel contain Eamonn Holmes and his wife would be more entertaining, more accurate and more independent than those three. I still can't believe Jay was favourite with two of them (with Anita & Georgia), wouldn't know it from your comments girls. 🙄🙄🙄 (well Sarah did try to shout Mr. Toss down about performance faces, but good luck with that) And I'm still having nightmares about stalker Jodie waiting at home for me to slit my throat after that "performance" of Tell Me on a Sunday. She's not allowed to do Strictly ever, even as a massive ringer, her performance levels would make Funnityfunfun Riley look restrained. It always gets to this time of the comp when they start toeing the party line. Anyone remember Alex v Alistair on Fame Academy, they basically had them on a conveyor belts extolling Alex's virtues for weeks because, I'm assuming, Alistair was racking up the votes. |

Remember it!? James Fox is still one of my most wuzzrobbed contestants like evah.
Claude on the ITT-style show put a spanner in the works by playing the theme to Black Beauty (for Dark Horse) whenever Alistairs name was mentioned though ![]() It is so reminding me of the Mark/Matt/Emma year when they tried everything they could to make it seem like Mark had competition. |

Thinking about it, Anita and Tristan might have been a very good pairing, her driven nature, his 'ah well, it's only dancing' attitude could have made a nice mix
I wonder if the penny is starting to drop with Anita that she is just being taught to perform and not actually dance. The comment from Craig last week about becoming an actress was double edged, at least. (Found it interesting that Georgia admitted she didn't like/couldn't dance on her own and preferred to be led as well) |

Except for today, I've been here every day. But just been reading and learning. A lot of what you have all discussed this week, I have no knowledge of or not really interested ie musicals etc. Rather than make a prat of myself, I just lurked and laughed.
Only today when you were discussing Latin language did I sit up. I went to a grammar run by Catholic priests so naturally Latin was high on the curriculum. I loved the subject and used to read Latin text translating as I went along for fun. The last yearly exams I took I scored 86% and was top of the class lol Only trouble I decided I was bored of school and left @ 16. My mother never forgave me. Latin wasn't a lot of use to me then. D V useful for other European languages, and fun to translate because of its beautiful logic. Retires to thegeek's corner...

Talk about damning with faint praise. Actually both women shoe-horning Jay's name into their "favourites to win" selections made me smile a little. It seemed like both were determined to go off-piste just a teeny bit right at the end - "Yes, I know I'm supposed to say someone else but really I actually like him a lot..." |

You have no idea, aggs!! The majority were absolute bastards and some of the things that went on would see them jailed nowadays. I got so many beatings, it was unreal.
It is very true what was said earlier . if you can master Latin, then it gives you a good sounding for other languages. I have worked all round Europe and the only languages I have struggled with badly are Polish and Portuguese. SWMBO was most shocked the first time we went to France on holiday ............ she just looked and said 'you have never said you could speak French' lol Who can ever forget those immoral words ......... amo, amas, amat. |

Sorry but Georgia mentioned on ITT tonight she's got backing dancers who will be dressed as other characters from Beauty & the Beast... judging by Joe Varney's reaction I think that was meant to be a surprise though!
I hope we don't get a rumba with backing dancers but its probably going to happen. |

Lucky you. Unfortunately for us, Pepe le Perv looked like Gregg Wallace with a combover.
That is why I find it hilarious when people say that Harry Judd looked like a geography teacher! Quote:
I think she could have been good with Brendan as well. At least she would have learnt to dance rather than just a routine.

My niece is taking Latin now. She loves the literature but knows no vocab. She's very like her aunt. I hope the result will be similar (she has just got an A for her mock).
BiB - That sounds like my kind of nun! (Joke) My R.E. teacher was a bit of a pervert. You can see why so many people take against religion. |

I agree! Really unappreciated mr toss parroting the party line with the pseudo cultured air of the dahhhncce expert. I hope the producers gave them all pats on the head, gold stars and promised them Smarties for good behaviour. The whole show was a nauseating pile of BBC spin, with the production agenda front and centre. Since the onus is so much on those without dance experience, where does that leave those who have like Jay and Helen?
Had to laugh when Anton started with the "and Katie having no dance experience". I genuinely can't make up my mind if he was trying to make a point or was taking the piss. I'm not an Anton fan, but I've genuinely liked him this year, he's very subversive. His Latin choeography is still crap, but his sense of humour is brilliant. |

Unappreciating that I am already getting a headache at the prospect of this Oom Pah Pah VW tonight complete with Nancy and Dodger
.But I'm intrigued about Helen's paso to At the End of the Day which I think could be a real theatrical spectacle. Helen seems excited by it anyway although judging by the backstage clips I don't think Aljaz knows too much about Les MIserables .
