Massively unappreciating Andre Rieu and his pastel tinted orchestra who can probably play but you'd never know it. Words cannot begin to describe how much I hated that rendition of "Hallelujah". OH plays in assorted orchestras (as a hobby) and was spitting teeth. Mildly mollified by them apparently forgetting to mic him.

Sad for Daisy who looked as though she'd just given up in the DO. Will miss her husky tones and filthy laugh and general all around niceness.

Is it okay to very much appreciate this in the unappreciation thread?

They took a hauntingly beautiful melody and made it cheesy schmaltz with no soul.
I was not appreciating how they dressed the women up as fondant fancies/those knitting loo roll covers.

Much as I rather like the sound of that, it sounds far too assertive for lovely Louise. I suspect she'll simply let Kevin get on with going berserk round the Blackpool ballroom while shaking her head in a "What can you do with the little scamps?" kind of way and occasionally giggling behind her hand.

You forgot the strategically placed cap gun pellets for TTF to set off every time he stamps his foot, whilst wearing socks with suspenders. 😨

Exactly what I thought when I saw them - they looked like a row of those crinolined toilet roll covers

Right so let me get this straight. This week Claudia has VW to a tedious song straight after Ed balls doing Gangnam Style. Next week she's up against him in the Jive, on a dance that could be been her breakthrough???

Oh that's fair! :-/ guess it's Claudia of the able slebs who's getting chucked under the Ed Balls Double Decker coach

P.S haven't seen show but guessing he has Jive from song choice

They always do that though. His orchestra dress brightly because he said he thinks the tradition of dressing in boring black clothing isn't what his shows are about. He wants his orchestra to be front and centre, not blend into the background. He's not my type of thing but his concerts are massively popular and at least he's introducing classical music to a new audience.

They just looked like a bunch of bridesmaids in hideous frocks, behind the bridezilla in something more tasteful.

It's all a bit Svengali for me, waving the bow about makes them seem like mindless puppets.

That reminds my Kevin's getting a bit Svengali with Loiuse, he seems to be getting her to do his things, like that god awful kick, and then the awesome speech.

i know the teacher pupil things is really intense during SCD but I don't think I have every felt the Svengali vibe so strong before.

I'm a bit behind with the thread but me too, I love churches and some of my fondest memories are from visiting churches and other religious buildings with my dad. I'm lucky to live in a town with seven churches including our parish church which dates back to 700AD, has Anglo-Saxon cross fragments and the present buillding is Norman from around 1100. Plus York Minster is only 28 miles away.

Oh and on topic, I didn't really like Danny & Oti's AT, they were too far apart and I didn't feel the dance at all and the music was truly shocking so I do admire them for even trying to dance to it.

I thought this would be her first place on the leaderboard dance! I'm very grumpy!

I missed the start of the results show... as ever but I did manage to see a bit of Andre Rieu and his orchestra of pastel ladies.

Was it acknowledged as his plan to perform "Hallelujah" anyway or was it intended to be a tribute to Leonard Cohen after the announcement of his death?

I just wondered because of the coincidence of the pros' dance to "You Spin Me Round" being planned and performed in the same week that Pete Burns died unexpectedly.

Maybe recording artistes need to be made aware in future if any of their music is planned to be used in Strictly in the coming week, just on case they want to stay indoors under a blanket until it's safe to come out.

They mentioned Leonard Cohen so I'm guessing it was a deliberate tribute to him (one of my favourite musical artists so I'm sad this week).

Thanks Cadiva. Yes, it was very sad. 2016 has been quite a year... and not in a good way.

She does like her avain 'omages doesn't she?. Does anyone remember the show she presented dressed as Big Bird in a feathered skirt. Sadly I have hunted the net on several occassions and have never found an image of that outfit. Shame.
