Completely agree with both of you. That was a horrendous rendition of Hallelujah. Hauntingly beautiful melody is the perfect description. That song should be poignant and raw emotion, not saccharine elevator music!

The women in Andre Rieu's orchestra always look like they're wearing 1980s pouffy prom dresses.
It's called the decade taste forgot for a reason!
All that is missing is men with blonde hair & red faces wearing pale blue suits, frilly shirts and velvet bow ties.

I've just had flashbacks to Opportunity Knocks with Neil Reid and Mother of Mine. Or Peters and Lee.

I do not appreciate that because I dont rate Louise or the Cliftons I am accused of being a rabid Jay or Danny fan who just has the hots for young men

Yes I liked Jays jive, yes I have liked Dannys dances but my favorite last year was Jeremy and this year its been Rob

and I would vote for both Rob and Danny if I thought it would get up the noses of these numpties who keep wouling " you must be a Jaliona or Danny fan because you dont like Louise or the Cliftons"

Rant over
Oh agreed I was a rabid Jay fan last year, but I certainly don't have the hots for Danny (or Jay for that matter... ok I fancied him in the Paso but that's it)

This year I'm not interested in any of the ringers. They're dull and the enjoyment for me is with Ed and Rinder (and Claudia)

If it wasn't for Oti's choreography I'd have zero interest in Danny.

I've never been a "fan" of anyone.
When the rest of my class was dividing into Donny Osmond fan versus David Cassidy fans, I was trying to learn the words to Stairway to Heaven

So agree, the generalisation going on in certain places is ridiculous.

Mind you I'm an enigma as I actually like the Cliftons but don't like Louise!

And for those of us who were fans of Jay, it can be really frustrating and sideeye-worthy to be constantly told that we only liked him and now like Danny because they're both pretty, and we little girls can't possibly think past our hormones. I mean, it couldn't possibly be that we like their dancing. Nope. We're totally just hormones with faces and no brains.

(Though, to be honest, Danny isn't even my favorite this year, but let's not ruin their self-satisfied notion that they are the intelligent ones, and the rest of us are just horny little girls.)

Half hearted Cassidy - but full hearted Phil Lynott here ❤️

Would just like to appreciate Karen - I did that move with Mark
And Daisy. She must be in the top 5 of most lovely contestants. I'm sure a Father Ted would agree

But an aged crone with superb taste . David Cassidy was cute but he couldn't hold a candle to Robert Plant in those tighty tiny jeans and that gorgeous hair and the voice .... oh the voice

I don't actually dislike(/hate) any of the Cliftons. Kevin, in particular, amuses me I've spent 14 series laughing at Brenda and his sticky out bum, Johnny Castle fixation and love of 80's soft rock with added hover board, Anton and his rug and general Anton-ness, Darren and his Wig, Karen and her gurning ... TTF is just the last is a long and honourable line I'm not a big fan of the way he dances, in the same way I don't like how Mark Ballas dances. I'm sure it is technically competition correct, but back row of the theatre in the next county isn't for me but I'd miss him if he wasn't there

Regarding generalisation, at my age I should be a fan of Anton but wouldn't be bothered if he never appeared again. I am supporting Danny this year as I love his dancing. I was the same with Jay last year.

Kevin seems to have toned down the annoying off dance floor behaviour from last year.
I think Kellie and her jumping and squealing behaviour encouraged him to be very OTT.
I think Louise and her calm niceness is keeping him slightly more tame.

He's still annoying though.

And Joanne is still annoying me. No change with her.

That spare dance bloke with ginger hair is VERY annoying too.

Surely Brendan will retire after this series? He will, won't he????????

I unappreciate the fact that the BBC have chopped off the beginning of Danny and Oti's dance on their latest YouTube video. It starts with him walking across to the phone and leaves out the smiley bit at the beginning. It makes nonsense of the storyline.

Try this one!

Meanwhile, unappreciating suffering with Torticollis since this morning. Currently sitting with a scarf wrapped round my neck to hold a cold pack in place.

Ditto me though not as aged as Mims who will see her 105th birthday this year with a trip to Casablanca to drink exotic cocktails and bang a few balls about . Good lord I think you may have 2 cats, however will your fans cope. Ah you don't work for the BEEB, you may be safe.

Also never done the all out fan, I can see the shades of grey in almost every situation though I have been sorely tempted this year both on and off the dance floor. Love Danni on the dance floor but I don't think he is great off, just actually not annoying, so I am voting for him, Ed and JR as so far they are the only ones I am bothered about seeing again. JR has personality off the floor Ed on the floor.

Sorry Greg and Cloudier I can see you are trying and improving but meh.

As for Loiuzze what a shame, I really liked her pre SCD, but mimsy behaviour is just not my cup of tea at all. Add in Kevin who really should have had a duffer so he could have been out early this year and my irritation grows, 4 straight years of an over the top, poor dancer, teacher and choreography with no break till the final is just too much. Add in the general lack of manners with added desperation Svengali vibes this year, and I don't like him at all.

But apparently it's all because I am smitten with Jay and Danni, if I dared to say that outside <<<< bloody hoards would descend on me, all very well known names who have had nothing new to say for years now. They are entrenched in their love of everything Clifton and don't seem to appreciate, appreciation threads are kept in the attic. There are 2 about the Cliftons on the front page now. Woe betide anyone who posts a contrary view at least 6 people will jump on them straight away.

Unappreciate greatly that when I bother to try and have a discussion I am descended on by a pack of very familiar predictable names bleating how lovely Kevin and his family are in real life, when they met him when he danced in their school in 1999 , fed up now. Or that they are intimate with his second cousin 3 times removed who once had a cup of tea in the same cafe as them. Or even just because they want to bleat about the BBC. Not that they are bothered of course it's all a silly little programme.

OMG I have Bettlejuiced them all sorry to everyone in the NAT.

I had thought this was a discussion board, apparently not its a stand in your corner and throw bricks at anyone who likes someone you don't. Or generally throw out obnoxious spiteful comments for attention. Or just say the same thing in many different ways despite the fact that no one has been interested since 2012.

Wasn't that why the mods moved the appreciating threads to the attic ?

If your listening mods I would be very grateful if you could chuck such threads upstairs where they belong.

Perhaps the rest of you who haven't been banned because of this post as I no doubt will be, might actually manage to discuss something.

But I am taking my pashmina and some cusions, not to mention some Armeniac and Cillian Murphy, ready to flounce when the mods arrive to take me to Bognor, one has to have a magnificent exit you know.

Ta ta folks it's been nice knowing people on this thread, it could have been nice with some others but apparently I appear to have just had enough with the endless repitition.

To those of you outside who have something new to say feel free to do so, to those of you who haven't had an original thought in the last 4 years , oh give it a break, bored now.

Come on Cillian lets go and watch the super moon, we need to get ready, one pashmina or two each ? It s cold outside though we have each other and the brandy. Plenty of brandy, if I wake up in the morning and find I am gone at least I decided when I had had enough. If I am still here you can colour me suprised and supply coffee lots of it, as Cillian and I will need it. ❤️❤️

Goodness - I suggest that you do as I do and stay off the MF, keeping to here, or any AT you may enjoy, and perhaps the ITT thread which is generally very light-hearted.

I'm pleased to say that I have no idea what you're talking about in half your post, as I steer clear of the more moronic areas of the forum.

Pops breifly back in to say try a heat pack the ones you stick to your skin, they work wonders over 12 hours.

When you can move make sure you keep moving gently for a few days.

Hope your better soon.

When I had a problem with my neck, my brother (a doctor) said that cold packs were the wrong thing (although you intuitively want to put cold on it to reduce the perceived 'heat' of pain). Warmth is the key. However, I don't know anything about your specific problem so it could be entirely different in your case.

Morning Coppertop. Hope you and Cillian had a nice restful evening. Bognor is highly overrated, so stay here with us. I've just restocked with Remy, Courvoisier and a rather nice Irish apple brandy called Highbank.

Unappreciatiing the assumption that because I liked Jay last year I'm a Danny fan this series!

Loved watching Jay and Aliona dance, especially their tango ❤️❤️

This series I'm afraid Danny and Oti leave me cold, I can see he's good, they dance well together but....not sure what it is but I'll not miss them IF they ever turn up on the DDO and get the boot (it's OK, I know it's not going to happen!)

Nice to see you and the that he key to the Bognor flat is still under the doormat

Like I say, I've spent 14 years finding some aspects of the pro dancers funny and I'm not going to stop because a high haired high kicker has a bit of a dedicated following. No one could have more ... enthusiastic ... fans than Brenda in his pomp and he, we and they managed to survive

At the minute I'm liking Danny quite a bit more than I thought I would and Ore slightly less than I thought I would so they're about even. Wish Greg would break out of the Gough Dancing Wardrobe with added bouncing mode, especially as Rob has been unshackled from the Komedy Kontestant role and is moving into the competent NDB one that I think he was expected to fill. Ed, left alone in the KK box is being made to work extra hard to fill it. Cloudier is just getting in with it and Mimsy is just there as a PTB safe pair of hands. They know they can slot her in the running order anywhere and she will turn in a neat, competent dance that will score well and give a boost to the early and middle part of the show. I actually think the worst place for her in the running order is last. It exposes her - you don't want a safe pair of hands for the big finish, you want pizzazz ... and it seems she can't pizzazz even given Flashdance or Bassey, sparkly leotards, feather fans and TTF knee sliding and singing along.

Hope the neck is easier today, Mona.

When all else fails, remember the DOT manefesto

http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showp...03&postcount=8

For all the pish taking the posters in here, we actually love the show as much (if not more, truth be told) than a lot of people 'out there'

Morning coppertop. Your train to Bognor appears to have been a victim of Southern's usual efficiency and you're still here. As requested, both coffee machines are going full pelt, hope there's enough.
