Berlimey. I am hardly daring to read the forums, let alone post on them at the moment.
Cloudier's jive was a big disappointment - she didn't look confident from the opening shot. Was highly amused by the subsequent need to arm-wrestle the leaderboard into something resembling sense. A great pity as I wanted that jive to be her breakout "I'm a contender" dance. So ... go ahead and shoot me. I enjoyed Ore's dance last night. Think Joanne produced something that worked in terms of coming through the screen to me - and that was pretty rare yesterday. I have no clue about its merits as a dance, but as a piece of theatre it did the job well. Louise's Paso worked right up to the point she ripped off her cloak and turned out to be wearing a pair of 2-for-one bargain curtains. Also, the close ups on her face did little to dispel her troubled vole look. Cersei Lannister she is not. Doti's charleston would have worked a treat in a smaller space perhaps? Mind you, if anyone is going to get a vaguely deserved 40, it's them. Personally I'd rather it had come for their QS, but you can't have everything and really, where else was the judging to go? They had to give some hint that they did a better dance than Cloudier. Anyone else feel it was a bit of a bizarre running order? Really don't think it did Greg, Ed or Rindy any favours to leave them in a heap to the end, but maybe that was the point. Didn't hate any of them, but didn't much adore them either. Surely one of them must go tonight. I was shortchanged, dammit ![]() The running order was very odd - I assume Robert was last because of the glitter ticker tape at the end? But other than that having the 3 predictably highest scoring dances bunched up at 2nd, 3rd and 4th seemed a bit strange. |

Musicals Week is the week after next. Also if you can't see how they could stick comedy feeming into a tango or Argentine Tango you're not trying hard enough.

This furore concerning an Ed Balls win is funny, let me see we have had a win from the dancing wardrobe that was Gough, the tiny Hobbit and a 2nd by the caped vampire, and Ed is more entertaining than any of them.
Would it be wrong of me to say that when they were facing each other on thrones I was aching for the appearance of Tyrion Lannister and his crossbow! that was a really mimsy beige paso danced with a wooby face, fierce, what's that? but that is what happens when you drag a mommy away from her cocoa.A VW that consisted of twirling, poor Cloudier hampered by high heels she clearly wasn't used to or comfortable in, crap choreography, and a weird, ugly lift from a standing position. Add to that random backing dancers, even the over exited audience couldn't bring this one home, thank god for alcohol that's all I have to add. |

I think that was my problem with Ore's dance - it seemed more like an AS for showdance and I was a bit disappointed. It just seemed a waste of the space and Jwann's skills. A big, traditional ballroom dance in a big tradional space was what was missing, for me
I was shortchanged, dammit ![]() I was just relieved to see Ore looking confident after Cloudier so clearly wasn't, so that may have coloured my perceptions as well. |

She did look like she was trying to give the beddding a nice air last night for a bit of variety. I kept expecting TTF to run on with a carpet beater to get the dust out of a blanket*

I agree about Ore, don't mess with Viennese Waltz, that dance is perfect in its simplicity, 100% in hold, lots of rotation. Any 'improvement' only makes it look worse. BTW I did not like any dance at the beginning, Danny's Charleston was where it started for me.

I didn't get the choreo for Ore's VW at all. The jerky jumping around little bits. I liked the idea of having rat pack swagger out of hold at times - but what was he actually doing? Maybe it was referencing something I haven't seen, but without that reference it just looked odd to me.

But haven't we been saying that all series??? This series more than any other has seen the most ridiculous marking ................. and it is all about 'get a Clifton to the final'.
Personally, I can't wait until the final and to see TTF's face when once again, he is NOT called the winner. I actually found his paso quite creepy. It didn't suit Louise at all. |

Every time I think must attempt a multi-quote, and then I see there's already dozens of pages, and my resolve fails...but yes, all of the above, pretty much
![]() I'm beginning to wonder whether Craig, for some twisted reason of his own, has a bet on Ed reaching the final? Or why does he behave every week in a manner that would appear to irritate people who think Ed is doing rather better than they feared, and is entertaining to boot, into voting for him? At least that's what it seems like to me. (No, I don't vote, but a sense of outrage at unfairly low scores - and nothing but groans and sighs from a judge rather than sensible criticism - would be one thing that might get me voting.)

I say let him win the dammed glitterball then he can get a non dancer next time and he can retreat under his lily pad.

It was definitely front loaded....not sure why. Certainly looked like they were trying to lump Rinder and Greg together for a DO.

I was actually pleasantly surprised that they gave the best two performance slots to the performers who were most "owed" them. They've actually, I think (other than with Ed) been fairly even-handed with the running order this year.

Wasn't that wowed by Danny's Charleston if I'm honest. It's a shame cos half his dances have deserved 40 based on this years scoring, but not his Charleston. Whole show was a bit pants imo.

That Charleston was the bee's knees. Very fast, very intricate, beautiful timing. Absolutely superb. And he looked like he was actually present and was an active participant, instead of being pushed, pulled and shoved around the floor like one of those industrial floor cleaners. Mentioning no names, of course. And he didn't show his knickers either.

Agreed, but he did go wrong at least twice that I saw.
It's seems to be who the judges want to give tens to. They pull up a tiny mistake to justify not giving a ten sometimes especially Craig. The script for last night was he was getting tens regardless. |

![]() It was, for me, the best dance of the show. Was it a 40 - maybe not but it was better than anything that had gone before so in the context of the show it was in and the scores given previously, it was about right. I do wish that Jwann and Oti had been allowed to do a traditional VW In tradition dress and tails. I think it would have been glorious in the setting and that bit of something the show was lacking. Poor Cloudia - how on earth can Ward Robe make a petite gymnast look so chunky an leaden. She looked like they had taken a cardboard box, cut a couple of armholes in, thrown glitter and trim at it and decided it would do. Then made her wear shoes that she still struggles to walk in. Let alone run and skip to keep up in. |

I grant is isn't easy getting great frocks that look fantastic on everyone, but even when they have given her a good outline, they've done it in a hideous colour or bizarro texture. Her charleston outfit worked, but not much else has. Simpler is always going to be better for her, but she must have shape! Otherwise the poor woman just looks like a randomly wrapped sweetie. |
