I grant is isn't easy getting great frocks that look fantastic on everyone, but even when they have given her a good outline, they've done it in a hideous colour or bizarro texture. Her charleston outfit worked, but not much else has. Simpler is always going to be better for her, but she must have shape! Otherwise the poor woman just looks like a randomly wrapped sweetie.”

Definitely needs skater style skirts as an absolute minimum to give her some sort of shape other than box.

Claudia's dress last week was lovely. Even my husband noticed!

Yes it was so it can be achieved.
She is very tiny and muscular. I went to watch a gymnastics competition a couple of years ago and in the flesh the girls are so tiny. They look OK in leotards but obviously some styles don't suit.
The height difference isn't helping either.

I did think she looked fab in the opening number. So much for short people can only wear three-quarter length.

I am late to the party yet again but I can only remember poor Ian going for an unchoreographed knee slide during Zoe's America showdance in Season Three

Didn't he fall down the stairs as well on one occassion or was that Brendan?

Kara absolutely stacking it around 35 seconds into this remains my favourite just because it took the edge off her ringerness right at the very start. That and the HIDEOUS outfit.

Brenda going over I think is the very end of this

She did indeed look very nice in that, although I notice that they plonked her on top of a box which amused me slightly (I am very easy to amuse though).

Can't multi-quote, but I agree that her VW dress looked good as well.

Nonetheless, I still hold to it that she needs to be clad with care rather than just covered in something shiney and hoping for the best.

I'm the same, it was the best dance of the night but I wasn't massively impressed with it as a Charleston, one handed cartwheel included. It felt rather frantic and he definitely either missed a step or lost timing on a couple of occasions.

Having said all of the above, it was heads and above the best technically difficult routine of the night and I did have a smile at the end of it.

It's my own prejudice, I love a "proper" old style Charleston like the original from Josephine Baker

Ahh yes, had forgotten Kara's little faux pas and Brenda's trip up stairs was so cleverly parodied by Jennifer Lawrence at the Oscars a few years later as I recall

Once they had given Cloudier 4 9s for her jive, they had absolutely no choice but to give Danny 4 10s. Anything else would have been even more ludicrous than Cloudier's score of 36. Did the complexity of Danny's routine and the performance of the rest cancel out the mistakes? Matter of opinion really. I agree that whatever the appropriate score, it was the best dance on the night (although for me, Twimsy's Paso was a guilty pleasure ).

I'm jumping on your guilt, I enjoyed it for the absolute WTFckery of it all, I couldn't believe what she was wearing, at one point it looked like she had caterpillars on her eyelashes, Kevin's trousers deserved to have the floor all on their own but it was one hell of a performance all ends up!

Kevin's trousers were part of the voodo ritual for Louizee and her longed for girl child.

Looking back with hindsight, Kara's expression throughout that screams that their "relationship" started about 24 hours before this routine

I thought that too at the time.
Check out her look at 50secs in, then her "feely touchy moment" at 1.05 secs and the end.

Forgot how happy Artem used to look when dancing with Kara. Was nice to see. Dreadful costume though - at the beginning she just looks like she's dying for a loo break.

This brings to mind that sequence from Dinnerladies:

Tony: "So you're not pregnant then?"
Bren: "Well not unless sperm can get through a sash window."
