I honestly think I must have watched a different Cloudia jive. Twice.

Oof, way to hold a grudge!
I pretty much put his win behind me when that godawful old bag Doris Karloff turned up and started taking the utter piss out of the whole thing. Darren was appalling, but at least he tried - unlike some people.
I have to admit that if the worst had happened and PDuh had won last year I would have perpetrated a flounce of epic, unprecedented proportions.

( Massively appreciating my IPad, which actually has PDuh in predictive text )

I do care who wins. I want Danny & Oti to win, and I especially want to see their showdance.

I especially DON'T want Louizzzze to win, or Ore, or Ed. I'd like the Judge to come second, just for his sheer joy at the whole thing. Cloudier and AJ - meh. I am beginning to think she just wants to smack AJ upside the head (if she could reach) and that would make me warm to her slightly, but no more than wanting her to stuff the Beige Twins, Weeping Willy and Bad Dad Dancer.

With the exception of Austinwuzrobbed and Jaliona (props to iPad predictive text again) I have never much cared who won. The most invested I get is wanting someone NOT to win (i.e. someone who irritates me for whatever reason, justified or not). Otherwise, I just sit back, enjoy the good dances (and some of the bad ones) and enjoy bitching about it!

ETA: Most showdances are awful, so personally, I wish they would ditch the ruddy things

I don't think Ed has improved the most. I think Greg had improved the most. Another complete non dancer but because he improved to some sort of standard public forgot that.

My point, when I use her quote, is to highlight the fact she intended it as an entertainment show not a full on dance competition

Jay last year is probably the first time I have actually felt invested enough to post on social media (mostly my Twitter account to be fair) and to use the online voting options available.
Most other years I may have had a favourite but I've never picked up the phone and paid to support someone not since the show began even when it was raising money for charity.

I did love Kara Tointon her year as well, you could see her falling in love with dancing as well as with Artem

They make great viewing.

I prefer to watch the ones who start without a clue.
Watching the opening performance on Saturday - with the contestants dancing alongside the professionals and comparing that to the initial group dance in September shows how far 'the clueless' have come.”

They've come so far that Ed Balls was just sat in a chair and rolled around. *shrug*

Before last year, it never even crossed my mind to vote. Even then, I used only free internet votes. I would not have picked up the phone even for J. I ❤️ the show, but there are limits!

During Smugsanna's year, once it was clear there was no way on earth that Natalie would win, I didn't even care that La,Clancy lifted the glitterball, as long as it wasn't old Smuggers.

I would like Doti or RobDOT to win. Twimsy and Tiny Tears can go and stuff themselves. Cloudier has been too nearly but not quite. Oh, and if Ed won, the clattering of toys leaving prams and declarations of permanent flouncing due to the purity of dahnce being sacrificed, would make it all worthwhile. Til next year that is....

However Rinder has the rhumba this weekend, so I fear one of my chosen winners will bite the dust...

Ooh, a Rinder rumba. Can't imagine that being good.

I just hope there are some good quality toys thrown out - could distribute them among needy kids for Xmas.

1st para - that's my attitude too. So this year it's anyone but Louizzz or B-Ore, or, to a lesser degree, the Judge. Would like Danny to win but wouldn't worry if it was Ed or Cloudier.

2nd para - true, they are mostly forgettable dross, but I still love Tom's (please don't throw me out of the thread!) and Bacofoil is still my go-to moment when I need to cheer myself up. I wouldn't have wanted to miss either of those.

Really?? Though I wasn't, I do remember a lot of people being impressed with his Jive. He might have gone down in quality during some weeks, but from Jive to Quickstep no big "j" word was achieved.

I would be cross but also in one way relieved, if Kevin got a win finally I hope he would get a duffer and he could go out in the early weeks. I can't ever see him going, he's the new Anton of SCD.

If Kevin won AND got a good contestant next year I would be grinding my teeth for 12 weeks.

There certainly appears to be more anti-Kevins than anti-Louises.

Louise is just....there. I have more of a problem with TPB forcing the Cliftons down my neck over the last few years than I have with Kevin personally.

Julian Clary's showdance is possibly my all time favourite one actually I absolutely loved him!

From the days of when the showdance actually involved them "showing" off the dances they've learnt.
Probably why I also loved Jay & Aliona's showdance last year (daft upside down entrance excepted).

I think I would (secretly) love it because it would prove that my mad tin-hat theories that it's all a set-up for Kevin were a FACT #jamesjordanFACT Nothing makes a conspiracy less fun than it not happening.

Aww - I'd forgotten Julian Clary's.... He wasn't actually all that bad. Maybe Ed in the final wouldn't be such a bad thing after all - at least he's enjoying himself!

I think Julian's probably up near the top of my list of all time favourite SCD contestants. When he started you could clearly see him thinking "WTF have I done?!" but as the series went on, he fell in love with dancing and that was expressed every time he hit the floor with Erin.

Was he brilliant? Nope, did he emotionally connect with dance as a form of expression and enjoyment, abso-bloody-lutely he did. His Samba is a thing of joy for me!
