I'm curious because I don't remember Eternal at all - and can't picture Louise as a "pop princess" let alone doing lads' calendars.

Don't let the mimsy image fool you.

I'm trying to be fair here. In a former life I taught drama and there are people who are amazing performers live, but really don't transmit through a lens.

Danny, Ore and in the right dance, Cloudier, all have it, but Louise seems not to. Rindy has had whatever that magic thingy is, but lost it a bit this week - maybe because he was doing a very technical dance.”

I think he knows that he stands a better than average chance of being eliminated now and it's damping his mojo.

I don't think that Kevin actuallly knows Louise. He's giving her all these storyline led Romantic dances but I think she would be more comfortable with just a dance. For all the chat about how she has broken through, she really hasn't. Predominantly, I just don't think she is an actress and perpetually making her act things she isn't comfortable with isn't doing them any favours.

Exactly. Throwing choreography at someone who is desperate to please does not allow them to enjoy the experience. He really does lack insight into his partners.

Yes that pizzicato part was great. The thing about AT, well it could be said about any of the dances really, if they were authentic, they wouldn't have made good TV. I've ranted about this in the past, it's all part of the dumbing down process that the media foists upon us.

Best way to look at 'that AT' is to forget the concept of AT at all. It was a dance choreographed by someone to capitalise on C's gymnastic talents and hide AJ's total lack of knowledge of the dance. I expect that was why he was in ballroom hold the whole way through.

Another eagle eyed poster spotted a lot of similarities between AJ/Cloudier routine and one used in DWTS. I agree with them. Plenty stolen from that. She got into nice aerial poses, showed how wonderfully strong her little core is and flashed her sturdy little legs a lot. Bit too much gusset flashing for me: I find that very inelegant.

It was interesting, but forget any semblance to AT. Good to see her dance as a woman for a change, despite the demented spider on speed eye makeup.

The samba was a triumph. 2016 is the year that Oti became a star and last night her samba was fantastic. She looked incredible and showed just what an extraordinary dancer she is. Loved it so much. Watched it and then wound back again to watch it a second time. Utter joy.

Dear Judge - I did like you, but last night I didn't even survive a first viewing if your dahnce darling. I got so bored I fast forwarded you.

Ditto Mimsy. When will you ever actually love or even enjoy dancing so that some heart or spark shines through? You'd rather bake a batch of scones, wouldn't you?

You're just being a good girl though, and it shows

Lastly, just for you, a video of an athletic but real tango from two world champions. Notice the flow despite the acrobatics!”

That was a real turn off for me, although I could see that it was the right stuff. This just reinforces for me that I suspect we don't see much authentic dancing on SCD, just stuff to make it sell on Saturday night TV. Kudos to those who choose to go and dance on a Saturday - I should be finding a gig really.

Louise might come across better live but how about her paso dress? We all thought it was awful but Zoe et al raved about it! Was it better on the actual night rather than through our screens?

Louse Paso was a dress 2 thrones backing dancers and that's it for me. I honestly have no idea what the rest of the dance was like. It's gone completely. Paso steps done well no doubt but I can't remember.

Knowing them and their approach to AT it's more than likely to be improvised. Noelia is known and loved for her amazing musicality and ability to 'dance music'.

That results show was just not worth waiting for. Came home late after several hours of AT and watched it unfold from the depths of the sofa. Glad the Jamesons was to hand.

That pro dance was a turd. Graceless, ill conceived and boring as hell. Why?

Ellie Goulding needs to lay off the lip filler and stop singing like a 14 year old.

Kevin and Karen must never, ever be allowed to create their own DAHNCE again. What a self indulgent, cringe making mess. Kevin should never do contemporary. He can't. Looks like a bank clerk gone crazy after one too many spliffs in the loo.

And Ed has gone over Rinder, who has lost the plot and become very, very dull.

Unfortunately there is not a lot in here that I can disagree with. Only one problem, I didn't have the Jamesons to hand.

I'm with you there found it a bit ungainly. Loved the clip, thank you, you always put up such great dances.

Little question for you all out there. I was very put off by the whiteness of Claudia's legs, should she have been in sheer black tights like the lady in the video? Would that have made it "better" for me?

Your thoughts on Danny and Oti's samba screams, "and the less said about him the better" . I thought Danny acquitted himself rather well considering he was dancing with a samba goddess. I cringed reading comments inexplicably unable to distinguish who the pro was. Black pro dancers in this format are a rarity but really?!

Spotted a couple of comments on social media unimpressed by Bruno's praise for Joanne's "original" concept. They were unhappy because of this. I reckon Ms Moore would've loved it but not as much as Bruno.

I think you will find that it is the 'Zeitgiest of now'. It is my mission to get this into conversation at least once a day for the next week

I was more concerned with the shiny whiteness of her face. She looked like Letitia Dean after a particularly twirly VW.

I don't need to watch it now! I didn't last night as I barely made it through Rinder's rumba the first time and had no desire to see it again, also didn't want to see Ed leave

Actually, it was lovely - a very gracious exit and he really does seem to have been genuinuely liked by the rest of the cast.

I had wondered if he was perceived as a threat by some, but I think you are right. I noticed Danny was quick to give him a hug - Danny has been very supportive of Ed.

Yes,I really like Danny. He was doing the "we are not worthy" bowing to Ed as he headed across the floor to him as well

So the zeitgeist of now for Bruno means

" I have definitely seen that done before" good to know !

I have to disagree with this to be honest, a properly danced 10 Dance can be just as exciting and interesting as the SCD versions of them and, baring that in mind, in the earlier series' of the show, the vast majority of routines were the celebrities attempting to perform as close as possible to the "real thing" dances.

I still maintain that Alesha & Matthew's VW is pretty spectacular without any fancy gimmicking and mostly just a completely recognisable dance. As was her Waltz, two of the Ballroom dances which are generally held to be a bit "boring" to the "normal" viewer.

In fact, for me, Alesha, although not my all time favourite champion (that's Kara), encompasses pretty much everything I'd hope to get - a beautiful, clean, simple but brilliant routine which perfectly demonstrates the dance she's being asked to do, a wonderful partnership with her professional, a joy de vivre which is impossible to fake and the emotional connection which comes when you fall in love with dancing.

Her Foxtrot is sublime and this is the routine where both her and Matt Culter forgot where they were in the steps and improvised for about four bars (from memory in an interview at the time).

Quote:
“The mistake is from 0:57 when he looks at her until 1:09 when she picks her foot up. All of that is made up on the spot as they forgot where they were. In the interview it is explained that 0:57 Matt said "Follow me", and like a true professionla, she did ”

You see this sometimes - I'm not sure whether people mean to praise the celeb or sometimes dismiss them as being 'too good'. However, I always find it (a) insulting to the pro and (b) demonstrating the viewer's lack of observation/knowledge. You can't tell which one of the two has been dancing for about 15-20 years? Really? When the judges say it, it's really meant as hyperbole but when viewers say it, I worry...
