At least AJ's acting at that ridiculously scripted 10 was better than it normally is...

Well I wasn't going to say anything but I do agree. I am not sure if its his age or just years of training of making long lines. Tonight his limbs seemed too long and gangly and his movements I felt were prissy. The guy needs to get down on the floor more often.

Have to unappreciate the show tonight - every performance was hindered by either the backing dancers, the music or the show it was representing. It was dull and I'm not going to remember any of those.

Unlike his VT. You could call into any primary school next week and see acting on a par with that.

Of all the musicals that had dance scenes in them they picked Dreamgirls, Calamity Jane, The Lion King, Jersey Boys and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. As far as I'm aware, none of those are really known for having much dancing in them.

I would've had Grease, Hairspray, Anything Goes, Chicago and Sister Act over those, to be honest.

The theme was more important than a character of the dance this week. Except the salsa

Ditto. Not a proper dance in sight. Why do they ruin with these special (NOT) evenings?

I think there must be some corporate tie-ins ... DWTS also recently had a samba with the same song from Jersey Boys and a cast visit.

Which contained absolutely no salsa what so ever. But was quite jungley and acrobatic.

You mean the samba with lifts?

Well there aren't rules in salsa and they had the armography.
What name??

Really unaporeciating the judges this week. It was like they couldn't even be bothered to point out dive flaws and the lack of content in some dances. Just cruising and picking up the cheques.

As I often find with theme weeks, my overwhelming feeling was "meh".

There are plenty of musicals containing actual dance which it would have made some rudimentary sense to use. Apparently not.

*bangs head on table*

You see this is the disservice that SCD has done my beloved salsa. There are rules, there is technique and there is NO SUCH THING AS ARMOGRAPHY.

Louise got one for a showdance tonight. *shrugs*

I only spent about 3 months dancing salsa and even I could see there was no salsa in that salsa. I did really really enjoy the routine but no salsa!

OK, I'm done, if I can't slag anybody else off without the topic being dragged back to the Cliftons I'll see you next series.

Seems like all those years watching Strictly has taught me nothing......

Mind you, I missed that there was a Quickstep and Tango tonight as well.

Not true at all. I'm sure I saw one bar of salsa in there. Somewhere.
And I could have made a cup of tea in the amount of time she spent preparing for the lifts.

And, repeating as above, armography is not a thing! Standing still while clasping hands in patterns is not a salsa move.
