Right, so I've just seen Brenda in a rainbow tablecloth singing with a plastic sheep.
I've either had too much or not enough.
Remember the heady days when you were The Bad Boy of the Balltoom, Brenda?

Definitely this. The show doesn't improve on its original premise but alcohol might enhance its effects. Or numb the pain. It's definitely not one that should be watched stone cold sober in the cold light of day.

But there's a Clifton.
With a 'tashe.
In chaps.
Doing a barn dance.
Or a polka.
In suedette.
It's a thing, I guess

Which of the Twimsies were auditioning for the West End?
K'lamty Louise or Wild Kev Hickok?

And why have Clowider and AJ come have Potter's Lion from Phoenix Noghts?

I was a fan of Danny in the earlier weeks but I am using this thread to just say he's getting on my nerves now. Every week he says on ITT about things might not go right or he's struggling with it. I know he practices a LOT which in itself seems rather desperate but every night apart from the blip on Halloween he has come out and given a barnstorming performance. He's just too good. Tonight was like a preview for Danny's show. I'd rather have anyone else win now (I still love Oti though). Apologies to Danny fans but I needed to get that off my chest.

And gussets. The knicker flashing fest between Louizzzźzz and Jwannn would outdo anything Krotchtina could do in her prime.

Now I recon they should do a 20 minute warning for all couples to a Polka, that would sort our the winners.

I agree (though I was never a fan, was just neutral). I've really gone off him after last week--all the praise for that supposedly so original "jungle tribal" samba, his Cuban heels, his ITT bits all about the long hours, finding out his soap name was "Thingy Savage Dodger" (or similar). It's irrational, but it's so bad that I don't even want him to win for Oti's sake.

I think by the time I arrived at discoTango I was immune. I hadn't a wut ???? left to give.

Everything was pants last night, from intrusively costumed backing dancers, a barn dance audition quickstep, please hire me Mr Deville, with added mugging, RobDOT getting the Memorial Sunetra Sarker Lets Make You Look Ropey overdancing backing dancers, a couple of Potter's lions bouncing around the potted dried grass from the nearest B&Q garden centre and Oti just thinking, this is never going to work - let's tick something off my wish list, be a dreamgirl and get something out of it.

And if they wanted Neil to feature so heavily in every dance - why didn't they just give him a celeb in the first place?

The most boring and pedestrian quarter final ever. The fun, personality and character was booted last week, and those left exude all the joy of dance akin to a Warburtons loaf.

Does feel like the series needs to be one week shorter with 1 less couple & bin the Salsa. Everyone is running on empty.

I think they'll be back next week, even with two dances... as long as they're allowed to be. The theme hurt everyone this week.

I wish I hadn't added to the thread so late! I went to sleep and had a weird dream where Kevin had sort of morphed into Bruce and was teaching Louise her showdance, constantly saying'teeth and t!ts my love.....teeth and t!ts!'

Don't be sorry. I doubt you will be alone. Its quite a British thing not to like people who try or appear to try too hard or at least it isn't if they succeed. We warm to people who aren't very good and even more to those that try hard and still aren't very good. But we seem to recoil from excellence or success. I have often wondered why we are so uncomfortable with winners.

They binned the salsa back in about 2008.

Spot on! Needs to be POTD but I'm rubbish at quoting across threads.

You are right but I really don't get it. What's wrong with working hard and achieving great things or being be good at something?

I don't know. I like and am proud that we support the "plucky underdog" but less comfortable with our discomfort about success.

No problems with his hard work, but his false modesty is so obvious. When he says things like "I wasn't expecting tens for that", he's not being genuine.

Exactly the opposite for me , not keen initially and I am appreciating the really hard work he is putting in to get things right, as we all saw dancing at such a high level things can and do go wrong, that band thing between him and Oti went disasterously, I don't think any other dancer in this series has had things go so wrong, of course that is going to make him nervous.

I am unappreciating everyone saying he doesn't deserve to win because he was so good from the start ok, but as long as that holds true for Loiuse too.

Also some people saying they only want a series with the growers like Greg or JR

I have no problem with them but I do like the variety and appreciate the really lovely dances we get from the Dannis of this world too.

I wouldn't have minded an Ed win or JR, or Greg, or Naga, or almost anyone really.

At present no Louise because she really isn't putting her all behind it and someone who is just enjoying it and sort of there doesn't deserve a win.

Ditto Claudia because it isn't and hasn't ever been SCD lifting and I feel she is spending more time in the air than on the floor.

Personally Ore puts my teeth on edge but meh I could survive his win.

Though if he said "Yes, we deserved them" or "I'm really pleased with the marks" he would just be blasted as smug, arrogant or both.
