Yep. Never quite understood why "mumsy" is a perjorative term. Or what the male equivalent is.

I have heard it all now. I text my friend through every show. This morning he said how could I know the result [he has never twigged before I know the result] He actually believed the results show was live on Sunday. He thought the voting went on until the Sunday show.

Maybe it is Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance given the rotating object theme.

Because Danny at least appears to have a spark of something and Louise doesn't look like she would spark in a room full of zippo's?

Look, I refuse to feel guilty that in a show that gives me a choice I have made one. Louise seems perfectly pleasant, NonStrictly Ore nice enough and Cloudier a lovely lass but for me, I'd like Danny to be in the final so I can at least see all his dances because the are the ones I look forward to seeing. I'd prefer him to win, but that would be a Billy Bonus. If Strictly were run just for me, Cloudier would be there to, but I appreciate this may be pushing it slightly.

As long as they weren't euphemisms

There is no male equivalent. The pejorative nature is in the way it is used to dismiss someone who is a mother as an unthinking person.

thats just a difference of opinion. in my book she's quiet and understated but also warm and amusing. she works hard and she has really lovely elegant feet and lines. i don't need her to be livelier than she is (but not too lively) as thats not what i judge any of them on.

i'd like to see all four of them in the final, they've all produced great dances, in different ways.

He definitely feels like he is actually giving 100% rather than just saying so.

Hear, hear - very well said! Everyone has different opinions and favourites - we just need to embrace this fact graciously!

To be fair, that was one dance and it's a genre that is essentially "just do what you want" so I let them slide. I don't think they've ever done loads of faffing about like others have.

I don't use it pejoratively, it's just that Louise really does truly look mortified and like she'd rather be at home washing the dishes. Katie and Kellie last year were both mums but nobody ever called them mumsy because they both looked like they were really truly enjoying it and having a whale of a time. Louise just... well, doesn't.

She looked like she was about to break out into the Shake 'N Vac!

*hums along* "Do the Shake 'N Vac and get the freshness back...."

We can do gracious, but this is the NAT thread. It is the one place where you can unappreciate to your heart's content and nobody holds a gun to your head because you think differently.

That's fair! In which case, neither Danny nor Jay have done anything for me, dance wise. And I reaaaally disliked Danny's AS last night!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't understand the widget conveyor belt making Glitterballs.

However I did think the props department ran out of time or money.
"sorry Oti, I know you want us to knock up a hayloft barn for Danny to lounge in, and you to jump out of, but we've spent the last three days making Kevin's Glitterball machine. So will this do instead? "

Oti turns to see a couple of lengths of 2 by 4 nailed together to make something which looks like a hangman's scaffold...

I thought it looked like a wooden jetty over a misty lake. Then wondered how they managed to move so quickly through the water.

And think Jay's jive wasn't even the best male jive on the show. *hides* And Danny's Samba didn't deserve a 40.

Are you going to do what I dared you to do last night and repeat in here what you said about "Jay pet" on another thread?

I think he pretty much did in post 15219. In spades.
