(Plus points to Smug Vicar for getting in a mention of his wife, just in case we'd forgotten his wedding).
Wait... WHAT? You mean Smug Vicar is MARRIED? Why didn't they mention that on the show?

(If you thought Cloudia's achieving a ten was bad, you haven't possibly lived through series 6 and THE wedding)

As I recall it was every other word... out of everyone's mouths.

When did Strictly become a Primary School 'Nice Mummy' summer fayre contest - where everyone gets a sticker and no one actually loses?

It's either that or Father Ted's Lovely Girl Competion https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4AFpQu-Z8es
Just how did Neil Jones get in to compere that, wearing Artem's/Danny's sparkly jacket?

Well she's spouting enough bullpoo to warrant a space.

Kevin shows Louise off? Really?

Quite apart from the fact that Louise shows less inclination to be shown off than a chameleon in camouflage kit and dark glasses, Kevin's choreography and overdancing would have a drag queen with Tourette's struggling for attention.

What next? Anton is a secret samba specialist and Tess is taking over Newsnight?
I think TTF has been rather restrained and holding himself back in his dancing this year. Wonder can he keep it up for the final though or will the desire to show Danny what a real pro dancer can do mean he will unleash himself! (Sorry for that mental image )

Well it's worth seeing the AT again just to see if they can make it even more sexless. If they can, they'd have to be wearing giant condoms and dancing in a sterile environment.
Training footage in...what will Ian Waite say?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YFC0O393DQ

And of course Twimsy's showdance is to 'One Moment in Time' because it's coincidentally how it feels when you're watching her dance, like you're stuck in a moment that'll never end.
Is that not a song that would require some major angst and emoting?

Can I just unappreciated that none of the smugster winners panel on ITT wanted Doti to win...

Also unappreciative of Zoe doing the hard sell on how in love with Louizzzze's character everyone is. Like trying to cover up beige with magnolia.

Can I also unappreciate on a personal level, the day from hell, involving an aged greyhound, a fall, a leg broken in 2 places, 3 vet consults and bills, numerous awful conversations about bone cancer, euthanasia as an option, a 4 hour round trip to an orthopaedic surgeon, not to mention a very distressed dog, and enough tears that Ore would be jealous of....

Where's the Blairite triumphalist election anthem when you need it??
Don't usually post here, but just wanted to send hugs to you and your poor dog. hope things turn out OK.

Totally unappreciating the frantic pushing of Louise and Kevin as the supremo couple.
Didn't really have a firm favourite this year but after that and karen hardy's snide downgrading of Danny and Oti, I shall bother to vote (for Doti of course).

Right. Snit over.

I want one moment in time
Wasn't 'One Moment in Time' the 1998 Olympics song?

So either it was meant for plucky little Cloudier (Olympian, innit!) and Kevin snaffled it the very second the Elstree door banged shut behind her, or else he's listened to the lyrics and they resonate with him, big time.

I want one moment in time
When I'm more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me
Give me one moment in time
When I'm racing with destiny
Then in that one moment of time
I will feel
I will feel eternity
I've lived to be
The very best
I want it all
No time for less
I've laid the plans
Now lay the chance
Here in my hands

Basically, Kev's racing with destiny to lay his hands on the glitterball at long last. And it probably is all up to him, because Twimsy doesn't seem to care all that much one way or another.

It settles it for me. Danny may as well not turn up next week because no matter what he does, Louise is going to win it.

Secretly I hope everyone overwhelmingly votes for Danny and denies a Clifton victory, because I can only imagine TTF somehow will get more irritating if he actually wins.
Got to say I'm not seeing much difference between the "Louise to win" from panelists and last year's "Kellie to win" that we had to put up with in the last week or so.

So I'm hoping for a similar end result.

Awwwww, Morts, that's awful ((((((hugs))))))) for you and gentle pats & ear strokes for your doglet. Hope all goes swimmingly with the op, I shall keep everything crossed.

And of course Twimsy's showdance is to 'One Moment in Time' because it's coincidentally how it feels when you're watching her dance, like you're stuck in a moment that'll never end.
'Could It Be Forever' by David Cassidy (possibly with the Partridge Family) would be more apt. Because that's what it feels like.

Haha, Tess on Newsnight I would pay good money to see that
"President Trooomp everyone seems to hate you, never mind we all luv you don't we audience"
In a bonkers year I suppose anything is possible.

Feel sad for Danny and Oti, would love to see them win but looks like Louise is going to take it. Do you think she will throw caution to the wind and celebrate with a small sherry?
Ooooh no, sherry's far too racy. A nice Cherry B will hit the spot nicely.

I do genuinely think the latter is a possibility. His reaction the other week to Louizzzze getting so close to Kevin was one of horror. No wonder there's gapping issues!
Or maybe he was just going 'how can she bear to touch that oily little oik?' and 'Oh my Gawd, is that a toupee???'

Wait... WHAT? You mean Smug Vicar is MARRIED? Why didn't they mention that on the show?

I want one final this time
When I'm not just in the final three
When all of my dreams are a sibling away
And the best one this time will be me
Give me one final this time
When I'm top of the family tree
Then in that one moment sublime
Len will claim
He will claim paternity.

With posthumous apologies to Ms Houston

I was thinking a Port and Lemon with just a threat of port and one of those sword shaped cocktail sticks with a cocktail cherry and a slice of lemon. It's almost Christmas.

Nah. Low calorie cocoa and no sugar marshmallows all the way.

I feel much the same. Did Karen even try to be subtle?! It really annoys me when any of the judges or Karen etc overlook faults in some but highlights them in others. It's like they are trying to subliminally send messages to us who to prefer. It annoys me because it probably works on some voters! I'm a contrarian though, the more they try to push me one way the more likely I am to go the other way. It can work the other way though and make people resentful of Louise and/or Ore, which isn't fair because it's not their fault. They are all working hard and doing their absolute best. Personally I have enjoyed so many of Danny's dances and rewatched them several times - that is how I choose my winner. So he is the one I will vote for.

It seems sometimes that they resent the fact that he's had training, or that he was pretty good when he started. They keep saying Ore is what it's all about - coming from a non dancer. Fair enough but if that is the case why invite anyone with training to appear on the show? The other question of course is why is it a big deal with Danny but not Louise?

Sorry long rant. I's not often I get my dander up but Karen managed it tonight! I'll have Louise's sherry if she dosn't want it.

That could never me Twimsy and TTF. For one thing, there's actual chemistry between them! 'R' Louise could never be so raunchy! Even a peck on the cheek sends her blushing all different shades of red.

Sadly I agree. The narrative is getting locked in. And she's obviously very popular with voters given the result last Saturday.

That's the downside of a show with an overwhelming amount of viewers being pensioners. They all want a nice safe and boring dancer like Louise whereas the most talented one (Danny or Claudia) should win.

I know this is a huge generalisation but I know for a fact there are some reasons (and you know what I'm suggesting) as to why the huge demographic of 80+ viewers won't vote for Ore.

At least if Danny wins they can't cry racism in the press because Oti is basically the living personification of an Amazon goddess!

Look, I share your frustration at the incomprehensible popularity of Louise, not to mention the constant pushing of her and Ore on ITT, but your post is complete bollox.

My mum is 80 and totally voting for Danny & Oti. She has never been able to stand Kevin (her favourite male pro was Artem, is now Pasha) and Jo Clifton has started annoying her too...

Nice to have family member with taste

When I look around the older women in my family and social circle, the cougar-instinct doesn't diminish- it just finds subtler ways of expressing itself. I see no reason for the over 60s to stop appreciating a handsome fella if that was what they did when they were 25. And the ones that say they do like Louise are probably like shy tories- showing their true colours within the privacy of an online vote -but with the added bonus of being able to say they were voting for him because he really was the best dancer, not cus he's fit, like.

My mum is 87,has always watched Strictly though I'm not sure she could pick Pasha out of a line-up,but has commented more than once that Kevin does good choreo.

Wanna swap?

This year I've noticed her voting for Rob Rinder and,in the semi-final,Ore;anybody she liked who seemed to be at risk due to low scores or suspect public support.
