One feels some quarters would have preferred a double elimination last week so they could have got rid of Danny and Oti too.

Omg there isn't one pic of Danny here but obviously one of Ore and one of Louiseand many of the Ciftons. . It's going on all over. There are pictures of Louise on the front pages of several of the -papers today including one of her on the front page of the sun in her undies ( so insecure shy and retiring). poor Danny has a mountain to climb!!

Hmmm.
I'm trying to console myself by remembering that the relentless plugging of Kev and Kellie last year came to naught and sense prevailed. I can sort of see the reasoning behind putting up with a Kev win just to get it over with, but Louise is just so bloody DULL, skimpy undies notwithstanding.
If a Clifton win has been preordained for this year I'd actually rather it was Joanne, just to see the look on Kev's face when his sister snatches the glitterball out from under his nose.

Isn't that because the angle of the story is "sibling rivalry" rather than a straight report on the final of SCD. As far as we know neither Danny or Oti are Cliftons...although........

Long time lurker just popping in to unappreciate BBC Breakfast also promoting the Clifton rivalry this morning. The celebs and Oti shouldn't even bother showing up tonight. Just let Jo and Kevin dance it out by themselves for the glitterball. That's why we're all watching anyway, right?

Can we start a campaign to get Oti's sister on as a pro next year? Double Oti determination - win the plastic gliiterball and beat her sister in the process.
I'm torn. I want Danny to win, but suspect he won't. But which is worse, Kevin and his partner (the shy, retiring mum who made her name by prancing in her knickers but these days is so subsumed by her identity as a mother she doesn't even remember her own name but answers to Mum - to everyone) or Ore, the incredibly insincere never-moved-a-muscle-while-muscle-was-playing-substitute-sportsman? I find Ore irritating, but at least the win would be mostly about him, whereas Louise is merely a forgettable afterthought to Kevin - though perhaps if he won, they'd give us a bit of a rest from him next year.
To be fair, I find Oti the more engaging person in their partnership, but I much prefer the choreography she has done than both Cliftons put together - all series that they have been on.

Oti's sister for new head judge! Experienced Latin and Ballroom, used to judging on live TV, would make the judging panel 2 men and 2 women, and I'm sure more than capable of handling Bruno and Craig!

I could get on board with a Kevin win to get it over with and consign him to duffers for evermore - I don't actively dislike him or Louise - if it weren't for the fact that anyone other than Danny winning will be my biggest WUZROBBED ever.

My WUZROBBED starts about series 3 and my t-shirt has names on it encompassing Strictly, Masterchef (Digger Dean), Fame Academy (James Fox), Amazing Race. I'm more used to being wuzrobbed than anything else
At this point, rather like Danny, I'm just relieved he's in the final so get to see all his dances. I'm actually resigned to him not winning so am just going to enjoy what he does, send my votes his way and let the chips fall where they will.

I may well be wearing my most optimistic hat, but the fact that the best dancer - Jay - managed to win last year, despite the best efforts of the judges, the producers and the endless whining about his "extensive" dance training, is giving me a glimmer of hope that the Cliftons may miss out again this year.
I don't think that Kev winning will make him stfu at all. I think it will make him even more bloody unbearable than he is already. He won't just be KFG any more. He would be Kevin, the most worthy champion ever to have graced the Strictly dance floor and the best pro evah. He'd probably get another dirty great ringer next year so that he could defend his title and be the first male pro to win twice.
If Danny and Oti can't / won't win, then unfortunately, I have to hope it'll be Ore.
