Yes, it was manipulated last year, just not for Jay. He won despite the manipulations - they pushed Georgia and Kelly really heavily last year when Jay was winning the public vote every week.

Bad Nakatomi.. Bad,........

Ick.....Brain bleach.....Brain bleach..... Most amusing parts of the article were the quote about Aw-ray being left "humbled and overwhelmed" after winning, and the shot of him jamming his fists into his eyes - classic child bawling image - to try to dredge up a few tears at his victory.

All of the 'umble tude being completely undermined by the caption on the selfie.

Sorry, Bawl-ray, I'm not buying it.....

I don't know where the show narratives come from but I know they're there. I have a suspicion that Louise Rainbow starts sniffing the magic markers somewhere around April, then she eats a few specialist cheese and mushroom omelettes just before bedtime for a few days, washing them down with a couple of absinthes. She wakes up and storyboards everything she dreamed about and passes it on to an experimental poet who drafts a resume of the next series in the form of an inspirational haiku. The haiku is given to a troupe of street performers who go back to Louise Rainbow and express the haiku in interpretative dance. Et voila - series 15 is done. Congratulate your winner - Cheryl Tweedy-Cole-Fernandez-Versini-Payneintherear's unborn child.

Yes.
You are correct.

I have been drinking.
Strangely, I didn't think you'd been drinking. My first reaction was, "How does she know?"

Thank you for the second sentence. It avoided the nasty injuries to my computer and/or brain that might have ensued if I had clicked on the link...

Yay! And there are lots of others to play with too. Pity we couldn't have had them in time for the series, but hey-ho.

In the meantime, Merry Christmas to all DOTs.

Yep. I know it's manipulated. I know virtually everything about it is manipulated. I couldn't tell you how it's manipulated or exactly why it's manipulated but I'm damn sure that very little goes on in that show (or any reality show) that hasn't been thought about, pulled around, twisted out of shape, passed through the digestive system of a couple of producers and colonically extracted.

was it manipulated last year when that talented but rather limited overgrown toddler won? can't remember his name - the other jive, not ore's?

or was that the year the GBP had the scales fall from their eyes, threw off their mantle as sheeple, stuck it to the man, laughed in the face of mordor (aka the bbc) and truly tasted freedom?
If that's directed at me - then erm, , yeah of course.
Sometimes the chips fall the way of my particular favourite, sometimes they don't.

Anyhow <shrugs> Strictly is so last week.
My favourite won celeb Masterchef so all is good - which I'm sure warms your very cockles.

Happy Festivities one and DOTS

Pah, only allowed 10, still

Which one of them is playing Billy Flynn in Chicago first?
Danny is busy already and Ore could never pull that role off. It's far too demanding!

I was more confused by the idea that any of us may have been sober at any point during the last 4 months!

Ooh, new smilies to play with

Whilst I think of it, may I take this opportunity to wish all the DOT's a Merry Xmas and all that tosh.
You have once again kept me marvelously entertained for the last four months and long may it continue.

Yep I agree with this. Though I have to say that when I heard they weren't bothering to do the jive again I thought they were going along with the 'manipulation'!

I was only going by what Denise Van Outen said. According to her when she was on Strictly, Chicago only involved sitting on a chair. No dancing whatsoever

If this is for the likes of me, I understand the show is manipulated (always was, always will be) it's just Ore wasn't the only one to benefit. Danny could have missed the final & Claudia the semi as both the worst in their respective dance offs. Others along the way too. Sorry, neither witty nor erudite but true.

Well yes, of course, this thread has complained about the manipulation year on year and this season week on week.

with some notable exceptions. People I don't think were missed by the thread at all, hey ho they've gone no loss. Not saying they necessarily went when they should have done, but no real loss to the programme that they went.

What amazes me is having done so the whole season long, and for years before that, sometimes very sadly, sometimes very crossly, that anyone would think that the thread would appreciate the result.

Especially as this year their really has seen a very heavy handed manipulation to acheive the results they want. It really isn't possible to say exactly what it was they want as that seems to change week to week, sometimes day to day.

On the night ,Ore stepped it up, Joanne produced more audience friendly dances, Loiuse went out with a whimper not a bang, and Danny made obvious mistakes.

Add in Len's comments, which pages and pages of other threads seem to have irritated a quite a lot of other people. What you have is the NAT generally not that happy with the result, though acknowledging that given the circumstances of the night Ore was always going to win. Though he certainly worked hard for it, as did Danny, not so much Loiuse who never really seemed that committed to the whole idea of committing to anything except going back to what she had before.

It doesn't mean there is a party in here about it though

Anyway merry Christmas to all and sundry.

Let's hope a lot of the contestants get what they wanted out of it.

Let's also hope that people on the whole don't stampede en mass into here next year whether the general feeling in here is yeah or oh Pooey.

On a personal note greatly appreciating that a large local fire was situated a couple of hundred yards away with only one injury, Not any closer. Hopefully appreciating that the news about the casualty improves.

Though unappreciating the smoke and the fumes combined with storm Barbara have meant me hitting the ventolin pump hard after a couple of years without it, and also the eye drops, sadly I think I will be staying out of any Christmas photos, This is the year I go for the vampire red eye, and I haven't slept for 140 years look. A bit late for Halloween but the make up department could have had a nice cup of tea instead of the hours normally spent on achieving this look. I just need fanged teeth and Brenan will be so jealous.

I suppose I could change the theme of our Christmas party to accommodate all of our neighbours also coughing and red eyed. Even the undead deserve a Christmas get together
