I actually like the partnership, but I was expecting Anton to chuck the kitchen sink at that, as Aggs said, and the choreography was SO boring. If you compare that to Helen's Marilyn Monroe foxtrot in Movie week, that just didn't have enough style for me, leaving out how well or not well it was danced. I was expecting canes, hats, loads of kicks, a total musical production and it all went a bit flat. But glad you enjoyed it (I hate the foxtrot, so maybe that's colouring my thinking)

But I was expecting that to look more like Anton's dance with Jwanne. I know she's a pro and it was a show dance but it had so much more pizazz to a song I hate.

Given Jay's leg mobility - he's sort of the anti-Peter - I'd expect him to be able to do a good Charleston, and probably, like Louis Smith, suddenly produce 'character' in abundance when freed up from trying to convey deep emotion while keeping everything else together. Have never understood their obsession with his ickle face. I know it's his 'journey' but half of them are doing odd things with their face, not least King of Performance (according to the judges) Peter, who used to dance with his tongue hanging out half the time!”

Or, the description I saw someone, was that he looked like an old man whose false teeth had fallen out

That's not a performance face I like to look at. I think Jay's been fine, performance-face-wise. A little understated perhaps, but at least viewers aren't laughing at them (sorry Helen's paso face)!

Both that and the AS at Blackpool were curiously dull. They - in particular the AS - should have been wonderful. Since her QS disaster, Anton's not been bothered with ambitious choreography, and something more than what they did on Saturday is needed at this stage.

I do think this series will be remembered as the "year of the gurn". There have been some doozies, Anita just generally, Peter like he's got that toilet seat around his neck, Helen about as scary as a kitten in a onesie, and Jay with his anti-gurn.

It's all about taste, I guess.

The AS gutted me a bit, I was just expecting so much more and really looking forward to it, but it was dull, really dull.

I think you're right about Anton's choreography, he's simplifying it down now, and it's all a bit, well, nice.

I get what you mean, I guess it was that i wasn't expecting that. It's a foxtrot, quite a boring dance but hard tehnically, and I did think he would concentrate on technique and just dancing it. He'd already done the hats and canes at Blackpool wasn't expecting it again. Was actually surprised he did the faffing at the beginning, but I liked the understatement of the dance, thought it suited the music. Not a fan of the song, or the musical to be honest, and felt a floaty foxtrot like G&G's would have been wrong for the music, I quite liked the "rigidity" of it. And they got got the exact score I predicted on it too

Minus the 'faffing' - which nearly went badly wrong - it was one of those ballroom dances which I find a bit boring but was actually rather pleasant to watch. The male dancers never get praised for 'showing off their lady' (!) but I think Anton generally does play to Katie's strengths whereas, much as I love Aliaz, I thought Helen looked terrified most of the time and possibly wasn't that sorry to be out of it.

I think Helen's paso gurn is what lost it for her. The teeth baring mixed with the look of dull surprise made the dance look even more ridiculous.

I actually like Katie and had huge hopes for this but felt she is too proper for Sally. Didn't really see that Sally character.”

I think Katie thought it would be her swansong and she was just going to lap it up in her fab frock and (not so fab) wig. Contrary to what the show would have us believe, I'm not sure Anton is really that desperate to make the finals. He'd rather go out on a high with a proper ballroom number than have to get slated and then dumped for a substandard latin.

Aww my Helen . I loved her paso face. I loved her paso. That puts me in a minority, I know.

Unappreciating that I didn't hate K&K's dance as much as I though I would but hated G&G's dance far more than I expected.

I can't understand why some people think Jay acts like a little boy but have completely overlooked that Georgia has regressed to a 7 year old girl.

I think if Helen had made it past the paso she would have been fine. It was a dance that was never going to sit easilly for her - and the theme/music/back dancers just made a perfect storm for her.

You'd have thought they would have learnt from last year when they stuck Sunetra on the end of a chorus line of pro dancers that it's not a good idea - and even though Helen is better than Sunetra, in a dance that's not destined to suit her it was always going to be a bad move.

Aljaz should have done the paso far earlier, but then Helen was brilliant at ballroom but alright at Latin, despite her Lisa Snowdon high scores, so this was always going to be an iffy week for her. Funnily, the only week she needed to navigate.

The paso made me notice her inflexible legs more than I usually do. Dress didn't help as it emphasised her legs. Not convinced she should have been so low on the leader board and not sure what the judges expected once they'd put her there. If it *is* fixed, it must be the most peculiar fix ever to keep Anita in over Helen!

The way to keep someone who finishes bottom of leaderboard in competition is to slate them and give them an "unfair" 6. It made no difference to leaderboard if Craig gave that AT a 6 or an 8, she'd still have been bottom, but the 6 and slating creates panic voting and people voting for what they see as unfair criticism.

Anita did deserve that 6, it was appalling, but then everyone was overscored on Saturday to a ridiculous degree so Craig shouldn't have singled her out unless they wanted the controversy (which they obviously did)

We laughed so much at him running his hand through his hair and over his chops like a spoof shampoo advert, it's become a running joke in our house....

Craig could have gone for a 7 and Len an 8 - if he could bring himself to differentiate between the 5 women - she would still have been bottom, but without all the angst.
