VERY disappointed that Georgia is doing the dreaded Cha Cha in the semis instead of the AT which I was really looking forward to!
I hope we get an explanation for the change - the cynic in me can't help but wonder if it was too good and didn't suit the script? Has anyone ever changed a dance after it was announced before? (We never used to get told this early in the week what the dances were. Maybe this used to happen all the time) |

Especially as it was a dance Georgia was really looking forward to!I bloody hope G&G don't fall foul of the curse of the cha cha, I'm scared now. If I lose Georgia AND Helen before the final and Anita NDB goes through, I will sulk until the next series starts at least! |

One week I think Carol pinged back and forth between foxtrot and American Smooth about five times.

I think I'm the only person in the world that thinks that the AT doesn't translate to Strictly, especially now that Flavia and Vincent are gone.
I don't find them to be showstoppers, I find they annoy the purists and I sit there wondering "was that it?" as the lighting and the camerawork miss all the intricate footwork. Anita's "AT" was the last straw, if even I can see that the pro has the hold all wrong, as Anton did in his too, without all the other errors, what's the point? |

Foxtrot, American Smooth, what's the difference? Carol probably just passed it off as a generic ballroom dance and nobody was any the wiser.

Unappreciating that puddly tat needs a tooth out in the morning. She will be better for it but just lost her sister to lymphoma so unappreciating being back at the vets.

Bit of a cop out by GG. Must have been too difficult for Miss Cutsie. Mind you she says every dance is really hard.
Perhaps I am being mean and she is injured. They weren't on ITT tonight. Quote:
Too difficult maybe. Perhaps emotionally too she's not in the right place. Maybe they tried it and it wasn't working out. Cha cha is a fun dance .. I think Georgia has enjoyed doing the party Latins.
And even If Giovanni was injured, you don't have to do crazy lifts to produce a good AT. No matter how good the chacha is, it's just a dull and meh choice at this stage of the competition imo. And Pixie. .pixie. ..I can't help but think about pixie's quarter finals chacha that got her eliminated. There's a good reason why most couples get this dance out of the way very early imo. |

But. .but the AT is such a crowd pleaser and given the fact that they were in the bottom 2 last week, they really need the votes.

All I ever think of a Cha Cha at this stage is Not Clooney & Brenda's one. 😒 It would have been lovely to see a non lift filled AT. 😞 |

You know might not be an injury but something to do with her work. Usually the soaps go easy on them if they are in the SF/Finnal stage of the competition, but what if they couldn't?? In which case VW/Cha Cha would be an easier workload for her.
Personally think she will be great at Cha Cha, isn't Joe supposed to be brilliant at it?? Thought I read that somewhere. I can do without another AT, they have all been crap in their own way this series. |

But she was announced I read it somewhere that she had left. And I looked it up to confirm it. |

Cha Cha actually has a better survival rate overall than AT and a couple of people have gone out on AT in the semis before (DeadNan, Holly etc). Natalie was also bottom 2 with one.

Scott Maslen. He looked like Norman Wisdom and he had a dead nan, hence he will forever be Norman Deadnan to us. |

Regarding the Gee Gee's change of dance, I'm more inclined to think that with the workload of two dances this week, Giovanni would much prefer to teach her a dance he knows inside out then have to learn the AT himself and then try and teach Georgia with no guarantee of it being a knock out. Being prudent and all that. |

That makes sense. thinking about it the SF is always a bit blegh!! One dance miles better than the other. Might be different this year, the music choices for many are great!
I love Songbird and am now weirdly hoping K&K pull off a good rhumba. The Kellie who dances with all of the subtlety and grace of a drunk being thrown out of a pub at closing time you mean? 😱 And choreographed by Kevin with all of the sensuality and sex appeal of Boris Johnson in speedos? 😱 Yep, it's going to be epic and not in a good way, plus she'll be dressed in a housecoat, curlers and furry slippers with a fag dangling from her mouth. I'm welling up already 😢😢😢 |
