The First Doctor is very loveable right now im on the episode when their on Marinus, The First Doctor is so funny when he talks down to Ian and Barbara and I love how they started to become a family Ian, Barbara, Susan and The Doctor. I like how its not just one companion but just drifters trying to find their way back to earth Gonna watch more. Its kinda nice how its just adventures, why don't the continue this format im loving it.

I've been thinking about this lately; Moffat seems to have lost the concept of just sending the Doctor around the universe stumbling into events and have adventures. Now don't get me wrong, it's nice once in a while to have one of those episodes which plays with the big important parts of the show; Genesis of the Daleks is such an episode as is The Name of The Doctor and The Day of The Doctor. However, when they become as frequent as they have as of late they lose what makes them special. In fact I'm at a point now where they're starting to annoy me. Why does every finale have to really play with these things? What happened to the days of Cybermen and Daleks waging war across London and the Daleks trying to erase reality?

Exactlg, The classics are amazing I just love them, I hope they make a series that isn't so arc intensive but has just one or two episodes in it dedicated to the arc.

But the classic series did do story arcs. The stories that made up The Key to Time, for example. Which if you watch the DVD extras, you will find out that the producers at the time wanted to add an element of responsibility to the Doctors adventures.

Then there were

Ark In Space
The Sontaran Experiment
Genesis Of The Daleks
Revenge Of The Cybermen

They were an arc of sorts as that group of four stories started and finished on the Nerva Beacon

I'm not complaining about the arcs. Series 1-4 and 8 all had arcs which were enjoyable but not intrusive. I like having something to guess at and work out at the end. What I'm getting bored with is every episode having to focus on the lore of the show. Can't we just have some monsters doing something bad every now and then without it intruding on the history of the show?

From robot to terror of the zygons was one long story arc of the newly regenerated doctor starting off with an earth based story, off in time and space first with the tardis then the time ring then back to earth when harry left and then the stories became more self contained.

I watched everything from An Unearthly Child through to Day of the Doctor over a one year period, leading up to the 23rd of November 2013, the day DotD was first broadcast (obviously... ) and I loved every single era. I'd only seen random episodes from the classic run before then, and I had no idea just how good it would be. I'd recommend doing a complete series watch to any Who fan. Really amazing stuff.
