4g / Tablet question
Watcher DC

I am new to 4g, and tablets etc.. i only recently upgraded to a modern ish phone.

I do not have what this 4g, is at the moment, i am reading up on it.
I do have a contract with my service provider, okay i will mention who they are, its virgin.

Some one told me if i call up virgin, and Inquire about 4g for my phone, they may send me out as free 4g sim, ( don't know if that is true or not ) ..

I am not really bothered about 4g for my phone, but interested in sticking it in my Asus, tablet..to get better internet access.

Can't all ways get a constant wi fi signal, ?

What i would lie to know is, if i have 4g on my tablet, can i take it to europe with me, and would it still work...

May have to work there for a few months soon,

Thank you in advanced for any help,.....

4G is a faster data carrier than the older 3G. However 3G coverage has much wider coverage, especially outside major cities.

If you get a 4G sim, you can still receive 3G.

Main issue to watch out is the cost as some charge (or used to at least but check) a premium for 4G data.

Using 4G or 3G abroad can cost a huge (literally £100's) if you get clobbered for roaming costs. The three network is by far the best for use in europe as they have stopped roaming charges in quite a few european countries (france, spain, ireland, italy, scandinavia, switzerland, austria). You are limited to 25GB per month but so long as not watching videos all day, that's not bad.

4g is not as well used in Europe yet. Variable. Again 3G is ok mostly.

Which country are you going to?
