How to get imessages on Android after having an iPhone 4s
I'm not receiving imessages off people after swapping to an android phone with same number. I no longer have my iPhone to change anything on their to get imessages on new phone. I believe theirs an app you can download on new phone, or is their another way to get imessages on andoird?
P.s - I have explained to most they need to select send as text messages but some technophobes aren't getting it so hoping their is something can do on my side. Thanks fie help in advance. |

iMessage is an iPhone exclusive feature so unfortunately you can't use it on Android. At least as far as i known.

That created a little bit of a chaos when the service was introduced by Apple because users had exactly the same problem as you do. They have introduced a switch in the Settings that lets you deregister your phone number, but if you no longer own an iPhone you can use Apple's online website to do that: https://selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage Hope that helps

I'm not familiar with iPhones but I remember this being discussed last year. Apparantly you have to turn off iMessage before swapping to your new phone.
You may be able to do it via the Apple website if you no longer have the phone. See this thread: http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1963319 |

Your phone number has been activated with iMessage, therefore everyone with iMessage 'sees' your phone number as activated and registered with the service and sends by default the text message through iMessage.

You can only receive sms messages from now on, if an iMessage was sent and failed because you no longer have a compatible phone they will be gone.
