I fear that is exactly what they have in mind, compplete with button up ankle boots. I am betting on the red.

It isn't a song to bring out the classy, lady-like side of Kellie in a classic ballroom dance, that's for sure. If there is one to start with, of course.”

Hold on to your hats for SCD's first Burlesque Viennesse Waltz.

That sounds exciting.

No, they are doing a kind of a clog dance in the movie. Just what a VW doesn't need.

all I can envisage is Zoe and Karen on ITT last night doing what everyone does when they hear the song - swinging from side to side and moving their arms

not a graceful, elegant VW!

I just had a fleeting dream of Kellie getting a clearly wonderfully elegant frock at some point.

Also, I know zip about dance, so for all I know it might be a great VW song.

(edited for stupid spelling)”

Me too . If she doesn't get a beautiful dress for the VW, and looking like she won't, poor girl never will

I fear you may be correct .

I think of the VW as a graceful, elegant waltz, accompanied to equally elegant beautiful music . This song is completely wrong for a VW .

The song itself is fantastic but in a bawdy tavern setting .

We don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised if this was their choice, given other songs Kevin has said he asked for. They are going to use it to play up her Eastenders identity, as well as having one of the best known of the songs selected.”

As I said earlier, don't be surprised if she shout "Get out my pub" at the end of the routine.

At the studio today and thought I would look through dads old dance LP's as I knew we had oom pah pah somewhere at the school found it on an old BBC LP by Sydney Thompson from the Old Come Dancing - a perfect VW https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSIe2qVP7cc

Now danced to that it could be great - very Strauss in style. And no singing!!!

I still wish they would have an instrumental week, give the singers a week off Please!!!!!

After all those youtube clips with German bands, swaying boy scouts and fallen women spilling their ample decolletages, my only disappointment would be it not being repeated in a dance off.

Trouble is, it's being done in Musicals Week - I think it's going to be more Bart than Strauss.

Yes I am reassurred Bendy. However the joy of that clip was Graham Norton introducing "Eleven Nancys"

which of them won BTW.

I loved Shani Wallis in the screen version of 'Oliver'. My favourite song is 'As long as he needs me'. Fortunately, I didn't see the ALW show casting someone in the role for the stage version, so I haven't been put off it.

I do love 'oom pah pah', though. It wa s a ruse to try and get everyone dancing and distract Bill Sikes long enough to get Oliver back to his family.

The 'Nancy' character paid a heavy price for that effort in the end.

Great music - although to me it sounds like sequence dance music, and all the videos offered to me down the side were sequence dances. I could see us doing a Tango Serida to it (love to do that in VW time).

Shani Wallis was 35 when she played the role in the film musical. I'm not entirely sure that many of the stage Nancy's have been that young either.

You should have put the last line in spoiler tags.

The Artful Doger's aren't generally over 30 though

Honestly, with the theme week, the music, Kellie's day job, the fact they've said they are in those characters - I'm not hopeful of anything sophisticated.

Josie Prenger ?? light purple frock?

haha at the time we had a laugh about the irony of Norton searching for a Nancy

well Viennese is an 'Old time' dance - but yes Sydney Thompson evolved into sequence music but that came from a ballroom LP and it is good VW timing - dad wrote a few sequence dances in his day though I am not familiar with sequence dances myself
