Ooh, really?

Spoiler
Is this like the Titanic, where we aren't supposed to know the boat sank?

Honestly, with the theme week, the music, Kellie's day job, the fact they've said they are in those characters - I'm not hopeful of anything sophisticated.”

Ah sorry, may have misunderstood.

Apparently, there are only two remaining cast members from the film living now - one is Shani.

I don't think Kellie has been dealt a bad hand with this dance.

Following Helen's VW the best thing Kellie could have had is a big theme and the opportunity to take it in a diff direction.

I think it's a great choice for Kellie and Kevin. It's not the lovely, graceful VW that I personally prefer but they both have the personalities to give us an entertaining routine. Maybe more polka than VW.

Right up Len's street then.

OK, after having read yours and many other posts (especially Bendymixer's) I think I changed my mind (trying to be a flexible, open minded person here, bear with me) and I'm kind of looking forward to it!

I think they'll have to hold him back from joining in. It's in his blood. The reincarnation of Mr Percy Snodgrass

I hope so! Kellie deserves to be in the semi final! I think this routine is going to be amazing!

No It didn't did it? Well you have ruined that one for me.

I'm dreading it. Visions of Kellie and Kevin cranking up the East End Cockkkerneeyyyy stereotype and 'givin' it large' makes my blood run cold.

There'll be sod all grace, a lot of face pulling, cartoon acting, demented gurning and knees up everywhere. Kellie is a tomboy and she'll do an 80 miles an hour OTT musical theatre version. *shudders* Kevin will be even worse. Endearing? Not a hope in hell.

I also hate that song, although I loved the Bart film. It was fantastic. One of my boyfriends danced in it so I had to watch it!

But, not being English, I have no yearning to rediscover East End roots, have a knees up or holler at the top of my voice in a sodding pub.

Yuck.

A really horrid song, and an insult to dance VW to.

With the lack of any outright comedy act this season, "they" seem to have decided K&K should have that role. A shame because they are both worth so much more.

Yep, agree with you, but I think Kellie and Kevin were actively involved in this and had a a lot of say in their choice. Kevin certainly would - he always goes for the obvious loud choice so that he can act out his favourite 'characters'.

I do think he has more clout with producers because of the proliferation of Cliftons in SCD now. Happy to be corrected if I am wrong, but I think Kev gets his own way!

Better than a lot of her outfits.

And this song is set in a pub, so I think the Strictly PG version of the story that she's working in the pub is reasonable.

It will all be about Kevin as the Artful Dodger though. And it might well get them through to next week - it's a very popular song and show.”

I agree, it could be a show stopper.

Its also a pretty risque song for a supposedly family show

Pretty little Sally
Goes walking down the alley,
Displays her pretty ankles to all of the men.
They could see her garters,
But not for free-and-gratis--
An inch or two, and then she knows
When to say when!

ALL

Oom-pah-pah! Oom-pah-pah!
That's how it goes.
Oom-pah-pah! Oom-pah-pah!
Ev'ryone knows...

NANCY

Whether it's hidden, or whether it shows --
It's the same...oom-pah-pah!
She was from the country,
But now she's up a gum-tree --
She let a feller feed 'er, then lead 'er along
What's the good o' cryin'?
She's made a bed to lie in
She's glad to bring the coin in,
And join in this song!

With the skirt Kellie was wearing for training I am seriously worried she will have a light up one for the show, why?

Not sure Kellie is the right shape for the buxon wench type role of Nancy. I'm not sure how they are going to work around that one in wardrobe.

I don't know why they ( SCD Producers) couldn't have chosen something like " My favourite things" from The Sound of Music. Something with more of a VW feel.
Feel so sorry for Kellie & Kevin, hopefully Kevin can put it out of the bag again.

Ooh, that would have been a fantastic choice! I'm going to have a craving for that now until somebody does it

It's very likely they'll use a similar style I'd have thought! I think they could come up with something reasonably nice (but no puffed sleeves I hope)

No arrangement is going to make me like the song though!
