Why are people saying Helen will be in the DO this week?

This thread could have the alternative title, how can I passively agressively undermine Helen, since she is obviously a threat to my favorite dancer😃 given that she has the highest overall score of all the dancers in the competition and I actually noticed what a threat she was this week?

Every single, I really like Helen , BUT .......,,,...

Has been brought out, so I personally would love the stiff legged, cold, false, attention seeking, bland, shy, quiet, hiding behind Aljaz, lovely, not noticed by the public, hanging onto Aljaz tails, false, evil, diva bitch to come out , do a paso get wonderful scores, knock everyone's socks off and avoid the dance off. 😃

Just for balance you know.
She must have an awful lot of fans of the other dancers very worried 😃

I'm a big Helen fan. Yes, Aljaž helped me be predisposed to liking her initially (I don't watch CTM so didn't really know of her beforehand) but now I think she's great in her own right. I keep seeing these " so fake" "so bland" accusations levelled at her and I just don't get it All I see is someone who is drily funny, sharp, self-deprecating and committed to dancing as well as she possibly can.

I'm worried she'll be in the dance off because of the weight of the "she's not popular" comments (in the face of the available evidence, it has to be said), the strength of the opposition - I think Jay's brilliant, Georgia is excellent, Katie has a dance that should really suit her, Kellie is very competent and Anita can really bring the dramatic, so they all have strengths - and the tradition for a top dancer to end up in the DO at this stage of the competition, but I really really hope she comes out and smashes her paso on Saturday.

I can see the logic in the predictions about Helen. Kellie is due to bounce back out of the relegation zone again. She went first last week so will be in the second half of the the draw this time and so will get more public votes this time.
We know that Katie must be getting a solid public vote from the times she's been in the judge's bottom two but not in the dance-off. With Gleb and Giovanni, Anita and Georgia have the appeal of new handsome pro men which benefitted Artem and Aljaz in their first years.
I think the bottom two could be Jay and Helen. Jay because he has the wrong dance (Rumba) and Helen because she just might not have enough public support.

I totally agree. How Helen could be expected to fall from the top to the bottom of the leader board takes some swallowing especially as she's been awarded the most points collectively of anyone in this year's competition.

She could easily fall to the bottom of the board, all those left have the ability to score 9's and 10's... if Helen doesn't bring the character to this Paso and the shaping etc, she could score low.

She said herself on ITT that she was dreading it.

Because there aren't many dancers left, all are very good and two have to be in the DO so not really an insult to Helen if she is.

I obviously hope not as I adore the two of them. Voting so important at this end of the competition if you want your fave in the final.

Hasn't stopped other people taking a dive into the bottom 2 from the top of the leaderboard before now... Natalie Gumede anyone?

I like Helen - she's my second favourite. But I can easily understand why and how she can end up in the bottom two. At this stage 1/3 of the dancers are going to be there so no one is safe. If you really want Helen to stay out of the dance off then a) hope the dance suits her and is executed well enough to score well and b) vote for her.

The first 90-100 seconds off this are perfect PASO music - before they get into the factory squabbles.

If she nails her performance and technique this could be another epic scoring week for her AND a crowd pleasing.

It's possible that all 9s or anything lower will be in the bottom two this week. All dancers have the ability to pull out 10s so I reckon the two.lowest will still be the highest bottom two ever.

So Jay could well be there with the rumba and Helen too, as she gave the impression on itt last night it's a hard dance for her.

She is very much in danger. As with Pixie, she might get a lot of respect as a good dancer but not a lot of votes. The public vote for their favourites and the underdogs at the bottom of the leader board.

I am looking forward to seeing their Paso Doble as I think it may surprise those who think she will not be able to dance it well.
Completely unlike the other Latin dances, no hip action is needed, and her (normally straighter) legs will be an advantage, as long as she puts in some good strong heel leads where necessary. Added to that she is an actress, I love the dramatic music, so feel it will be a dramatic, classy not frantic Paso. I'm sure that Aljaz is working on some fabulous strong shaping, his choreo is always excellent, so I'm very hopeful that it will be great.”

I feel the same. I like Helen a lot. She's easily the second best dancer and Alijaz is a great pro who does wonderful choreography. If I had to dance with any of those male pros, he'd be my choice for ballroom.

I'm expecting Kellie to get great comments and scores for her VW. Helen, on the other hand, I don't think will do so well with the judges this week. So, (even though I think Kellie will be safe) if Kellie ends up in the DO with Helen, "judging on that dance alone" then they would have to save Kellie or otherwise risk another Jameliagate.

A c) to that would be to hope the judges won't double up on votes. As others have said there will be lots of 9s and 10s, so a doubling of votes is possible. Top of the table can only get 6 points but if the couple on the bottom get 2 or even 3 points, then it will be wide open.
