Not you personally, no. I'm just saying that you, me, hell all of us have grown up with this idea that men should never show weakness or emotion and that can and does lead to male depression, suicide and a whole bunch of other things. I can hardly blame you for male suicide when this is an attitude most of the world are guilty of having.
In insulting and mocking George for showing and feeling emotion, you're re-inforcing those harmful stereotypes. What's wrong with a man being sensitive and expressing his emotions in an open way? Surely that's much better than bottling it up? What is it about being a man that means you have to be stoic and unfeeling - why is it unmanly to say 'hey, i'm upset'?
If George was a girl, you wouldn't be condemning him in this awful way (or maybe you would, I don't know). He got overwhelmed and upset. These are perfectly natural emotions and maybe linking this to depression and suicide may seem a bit of a stretch but they're all different ingredients of the same thing.
Everyone is force fed this idea of what it means to be a 'proper man' and it's bullshit in my opinion. If a young boy is feeling vulnerable, overwhelmed and upset then just let him ****ing express those feelings without fear of being mocked - something which George was allowed to do tonight, and visibly cheered up by the end of the show because of this. Also, notice how it was the women - even the vile Lady C - who noticed and attended to George's upset. The other guys were nowhere to be seen.
